I dont just work here, I’m also a PATIENT! I MUST share how much treatment with Dr. Tory has done for me. I had been living with some pretty intense hand and neck pain for some time. It would come and go and was usually exacerbated by some random activity I had done. Once, not that long ago, I was very active; triathlon, road biking, mtn biking, hiking and a strong (daily) yoga practice. I miss living that life-style more than I can put into words, but my hands wont brake the bike anymore and downward facing dog is like a little kid playing twister - my hands wont do their job after a while. The pain is not worth it so I just stopped doing things. The last time my neck "thing" flared up was just after my move here to TX. It was a shotgun decision that involved multiple trucks and a lot of heavy lifting. No idea why, but I didnt think to seek out Chiropractic care. Of course, now I wonder what was wrong with me. After a few weeks of treatments I DID feel better but after a couple months of flare-ups, Dr. Tory suggested we have more imaging done. Lo and behold - there was something. Something of a mess! Dr. Tory told me my neck was in a state due to a 40+ year old whiplash incident. Seriously. I had all but forgotten that accident from when I was a kid. Who wore seat-belts in the early 70s?? Not me and we all have the scar(s) on our chin(s) to prove it. My Mom was an avid Doctor goer, but not one Medical Professional thought an x-ray was in order, so I healed all wonky and at times photograph like my neck is growing out of my décolletage. Um...yeah, thats NOT a good look FYI! Flash forward: 2013...I was run off the road (on a descent) on my mountain bike and went over the handle bars. Its was pretty much a hard break and a flip + crunch. Right onto my chin again! I figured I was fine. I got up and walked around eventually. That crash unleashed the beast! It presented with hand pain. I had no idea they were connected and was fully prepared to see a hand surgeon in Los Angeles a few years back. Funny thing - Spinal Decompression saved the day. Ive been on a treatment plan that totally addresses all MY issues. Neck, back, sleep issues - etc. The list is far too long but its about all of me here; Dr. Tory makes sure your WHOLE self is treated. Its much more than just an adjustment -- its about WELLNESS. Total body wellness and isnt that what we all want? Total wellness IS Freedom, isnt it? Its what we eat and drink and how much we sleep and how much we exercise. Its supplements when needed and other therapies. This (W)HOLISTIC approach to the human specimen really works for me. Im far better than Ive been in years. Im rehabilitating my health and it feels great. Hiking is my new love and thanks to Dr. Tory we have committed to hiking the AT in 2019. Thank you doesnt seem enough - youve helped me change so much and I am beyond grateful!

Both my father and step-father are chiropractors (in other states), and I have moved over a dozen times as an adult (husband in sales), so I have a lifetime of experience with both the talented and less gifted in the field of chiropractic. I injured myself moving boxes in our new home to the point that I was bedridden for a week (mistakenly thinking it was just a pulled muscle), in tears with any movement, and in constant pain. Dr. Tory Schoonmaker is a miracle worker - he correctly diagnosed my injury, came up with a treatment plan that was affordable and workable, and adjusted me so well that I was pain-free within a week. We are now working on an extended plan to repair the damage to my cervical curve (car accident at age 16) that none of my previous chiropractors ever thought could be repaired, and I am seeing definite improvement. AND, to top it all off, my 7-year-old daughter loves him, too! That is a miracle in and of itself because she was ruined for chiropractic care by a rough adjuster in our last state and has refused all adjustments for two years. But not anymore. Dr. Schoonmaker is so personable and flexible and easy to work with that my daughter now asks to be adjusted, always wants to be first, and looks forward to going to see him. I am so grateful that we were referred to Dr. Schoonmaker! He is truly a gifted and talented chiropractor and a pleasure to know. He has healing hands, and he has changed our lives for the better. I highly recommend him to everyone!

After my car accident, I had gone to many doctors and taken all the medicines prescribed, but still had horrible back issues. I got both an MRI and a few X-Rays done and my PCP told me there wasnt anything wrong. I decided to go to Freedom Wellness in Flower Mound, I read the reviews (which, were already impressive). Dr. Tory took the time to explain to me what was wrong and made a plan that was tailored for me. He told me that Id start seeing results within a few sessions, and he was not wrong! After going through some decompression treatments, and being properly adjusted I dont have to rely on pain pills anymore. In fact, Ive noticed that Ive regained a lot of the mobility I lost after the car accident. Lets not forget about his amazing staff!! They ALWAYS greet you with a smile, and are happy to help you. Great customer service! :) Shout out to Kellie! (sorry if I spelled that wrong!)

Ive had the most incredible experience with Dr. Tory. When I started seeing him I had little strength in my left leg. I had fallen three times- once down my stairs and had complete numbness in my left leg. I was in excruciating pain living on pain drugs. The discs in my lower back, especially L4 & L5 had degenerated and herniated. Dr. Tory has been caring for my back with decompression treatments and I am completely pain free! I have strength in my legs to walk 6 miles a day, sleep with no pain, and the numbness is completely gone! And with the years of experience he has, I know that I can be healthy and strong for years to come. He has literally saved me from having back surgery. I feel stronger and better than I have in years! I cannot praise him enough!

This will probably be the easiest review I have ever written! I met Dr.Tory for the first time in August 2014. After frequent adjustments and decompression, I am SO much better! He has a personable side to him that keeps his patients coming back. The main thing is he truly cares about us and is willing to get the job done with the utmost professionalism AND a sense of humor! He first said to me, "I just want to help you." Time and time again he has proven he is a man of his word! Another reason to go to Freedom Wellness is the loving, patient office staff. Everyone is amazing! If you go see Dr. Tory, you wont be disappointed.
