My veterinarian was out of town on vacation when our dog began acting strange – not wanting to eat, making strange breathing noises. Buster had been acting completely normal up until Monday afternoon. I took him to see Dr. Preissinger on a Wednesday morning to be checked out. Dr. Preissinger did a general exam and listened to Buster’s lungs with a stethoscope. I was told Buster had pneumonia, and 10% of his lungs were filled with fluid. We were prescribed a gamut of medicines – a steroid, a diuretic, an anti-biotic, anti-nausea, and anti-diarrheal meds. I took Buster home and began administering the drugs as directed, hoping that within 24 hours we would see improvement. Thursday evening, Buster was still having trouble breathing, so we decided to take him to an emergency vet clinic. Within 30 minutes, we had an x-ray done that confirmed both lungs were FULL of cancer. Not a drop of fluid was present, nor was there any indication of pneumonia. The emergency vet was confused at the different medicines prescribed as they did not seem standard in treating canine pneumonia. Lung cancer in dogs is not detected by standard blood tests – so we had no idea anything was wrong until he began exhibiting symptoms. The next morning, we had Buster euthanized as he continued to labor while breathing, and his cancer was not treatable. I called Dr. Preissinger to cancel Buster’s follow up appointment and advise his staff of what had happened. When I asked the vet how pneumonia in dogs is diagnosed, he told me “by listening to the lungs with a stethoscope.” He proceeded to tell me that “Buster had obviously eaten something that cut up his stomach…which lead to a stomach infection…then turned to pneumonia.” False. On all accounts. Once I told him that the emergency clinic took a simple x-ray that debunked his diagnosis, he admitted that Diamond Oaks’ x-ray machine had been broken for three months. I cannot begin to describe how livid I was after hearing that. There is not a thing any vet in the world could do to save Buster – but had proper exams been done, and had he instead referred me to another vet if he could not 100% confirm Buster’s problem – we wouldn’t have allowed Buster to suffer those two additional days prior to being euthanized. The last two days of our sweet boy’s life were hell…and I completely blame Dr. Preissinger for dismissing our concerns and not referring us to another vet’s office.

The only reason this place has even one star is because of the sweetest lady named Bethany that works here. Bethany is PHENOMENAL and always looks out for our dog. Diamond Oaks just got a new doctor, and he is terrible, our dog had some eye issues going on, and he just told us to put an ointment around his eye and gave us an antibiotic... but his eye only grew worse, so we took him to another clinic, and the doctor there told us what was actually wrong with his eyes. She said if it would have continued the way it was, it could have made him go blind. Theres no way, if you knew what you were doing, could have missed what was going on with him. Will never take him back to Diamond Oaks to see the doctor again.

I take my dog there for routine visits and for the occasional surprise visit. When something doesnt seem right with her and Im not sure what to do I dont hesitate to call because the staff at Diamond Oak is always willing to help. The service they provide is over and above like anything Ive ever had. The entire staff always remembers us and takes the time to visit to make sure if theres anything I need beyond the visit its taken care of. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone, pets big or small. I know that I can count on Dr Ron and his staff for the best treatment for my dog!

this is the worst vet in town. he killed my dog downtown. i took him in for possible blockage because he ate some clothing. this vet gave hom injections that made his stomach explode by the time i got him to animal hospital it was too late but banfield filed a formal complaint on that vet. he charged me 800.to kill my baby and he died a horrible death. hes uncompassionate and they just wAnt ur money. i think hos license should be revoked and that place shut down. worst vet ever.

I have been taking my dogs to this clinic wonce they were pups. They are now senior dogs. I have to say that my dogs get the best care with Dr Ron. Tonight Dr Ron went above and beyond and met me at the clinic after hours when my dogs condition got worse after seeing an emergency vet over the weekend and my other dog seemed to be getting sick as well. I am very grateful for the care and concern he and his staff provides. I am sure my babies are on the mend.

Best vet EVER! I had issues at another vet with them wanting to test for this and that and I told them he is just allergic to fleas I just need such and such meds and it will clear right up. They did not want to help me and I called diamond oaks which have seen him before and already treated the year before and they told me to come get the refill meds. So thank you so much diamond oaks for listening and helping my baby!

I looked and looked for a vet that would understand my pets needs, I love their staff, they are very kind and soothing to the animals. The place is clean, and my dog loved being able to look out the window to see outside while in the exam room. They are cheap and really the best place to go in Haltom City.

Our experience here was fantastic, we were in and out of the office very quickly doctor took a look at our dog and knew exactly what was wrong with him. I would highly recommend this bet for all true animal lovers. The office staff were friendly and understanding.

They were amazing with the level of treatment, care, and concern they showed to me and my pets after my dogs were viciously attacked by a pack of pit-bulls. We came there for an emergency, but they will be our new Vet of choice for all of our services.
