I originally wrote a review on Yelp, but was confused by the business owner as another Rachel client that apparently went in around the same time as me with her pet (same reason as me) so the response I received was for her. I suppose this other Rachel also had a labradoodle that looked just like mine, but the odds of that would be slim to none. Labradoodles are NOT that common and theyre not really the kind of dog you buy when money is tight unless you get lucky and find a reasonably priced one. Her review is on here from six months ago if youre curious and if you notice, her vet visit fee was also cheaper. How nice for her... Here is my review, which I was honestly fine leaving on Yelp, but after the response I received, I decided I would post it here as well. Seems ear infections not being treated correctly is a common issue: I took my dog here for an ear infection. The staff was friendly but the medicine prescribed did not help my dog. In fact, what i was doing before i brought him in was actually working better. I wont be going back. Very disappointed. My old vet in Mansfield gave me a medicine for his ears when they got irritated which was rare and it would work overnight. Ive used the ear wash and medicine every night for a week as well as pulled the hair out in his ears and he was more irritated than he was before. Update: What are you talking about? I never said I was on a tight budget. I did not decline the rinse. I bought it!!! What I was using can be purchased at any store, witch hazel. I stopped using your product and went back to the witch hazel and some tea tree oil...obviously not in the ear canal on tea tree oil. Cant even keep your clients straight. Sheesh. My bill was $266.57!!! From OCTOBER 20TH. $42 exam, $20 dhpp annual booster, $18 rabbies booster, $35 internal parasite screen, $1 osha waste disposal, $30 cytology, $24.99 triz ultra plus keto soin, $39.58 memetanax, and FINALLY $56 Heartguard. New review = 1 star.

HIGHLY recommend Dr. James! We had lost our family dog of 10 years recently while under the care of a different vet in the area on Denton Hwy, and I never felt that this other vet was very helpful or sympathetic about it, and the prices were always very high, especially when I felt it was not very good care. So, when our new puppy suddenly got sick with a high fever, we needed to look for a new vet. After reading these reviews, I called Dr. James and was pleased that I could bring her in within the hour! Everyone there was very caring and helpful. I expressed my financial concerns, and Dr. James prepared a detailed pricing estimate (which was very reasonable yet comprehensive) for my puppys care and assured me he wouldnt do anything without checking with me first. My baby was very sick and needed to stay there 5 days on fluids and antibiotics. Part of this time was over the weekend, and Dr. James would go up and check on her and call from his office to let us know how she was doing. Dr. James called several times a day over the course of her treatment with an update on her situation. He seemed genuinely concerned and gave detailed explanations...he even mentioned that, when she still wouldnt eat, he finally got her to try some food by feeding her out of his hand...a personal touch that let me know everything would turn out fine. Fiona is now home and happy, and I am so grateful to Dr. James and his staff. Very professional, clean office, caring staff, reasonable prices WITH THOROUGH CARE.

Dr. James is the absolute best Veterinarian I have EVER known. I had repeatedly taken my aging cats to two other local, long-established Vets to determine the cause of weight loss. They both did nothing but determine they did not have parasites and treated me like an idiot in the process. Finally, after one cat became more and more wasted, I went to Dr. James. One blood test and it was determined she had diabetes and kidney failure - both things I could have been managing if either one of the other vets had been competent enough to ever draw blood. Dr. James patiently explained very possible treatment option, printed a quote for each option, then left us to make a tough decision. Dr. James has the rare quality of being great with both animals and people. He and his staffs compassion was something I had never experienced in a vet office. About a week later, we received a sympathy card signed by the entire staff. Wow. I will always be grateful for their kindness and will never go anywhere else for my pets care.

Ok, first off, Dr. McCarthy is a LEGENDARY BADASS! With over 20 years of going in and out of veterinary clinics, leaving feeling like I got screwed and the vet didnt really care...well, that is over now. The staff is awesome, attentive, and very easy to work with. Everyone in the building seems to truly care about both ones pet and ones satisfaction with the experience. When bringing in my old lady dog, who is really in the sunset of her life, I was given fair options to treat her, reasonable prices, and zero pressure to do any of them. Dr. McCarthy sat down and went over each possible scenario/step involved and explained them in detail then even got on the phone to do it all over again with my wife. We cannot be pleased any more with our experience, the bar has been set. One would have to be morally and ethically bankrupt not to choose these ROCKSTARS to care for their beloved four legged children.

I really loved Dr James and his clinic when they first opened. Hes a very nice guy fresh out of vet school and has a pleasant staff. Ive been taking my dogs there since they opened. Last year, I had the person at the desk write down the price for a simple health certificate for me and book an appointment. When I brought my dog in, she charged me $35 more than she had quoted in writing the day before. She apologized but what could I do after receiving the service? The right thing to do would have been to charge me the quoted price and tell me it would be more next time. I was concerned but willing to forgive that for such a nice vet. Now, though, some of their other prices have more than doubled since last year. At my last appointment, unnecessary procedures costing more than $800 were heavily pushed. Its just getting out of hand and very unfortunate.

Dr. James is awesome!! My 13 year old dog and 7 year old dog have been seeing him for 2 years now, or right after he first opened...however long thats been. Dr. James takes a sincere interest in YOU as the owner AND your pet...hes great at explaining things and takes the time to do so, answering questions with patience. My older dog, Midnight recently had some sort of immune response where his spleen enlarged and it was a very scary nearly 2 weeks before his body got back to normal and Dr. James was there with us every step of the way, informing us of his status when he stayed overnight initially and checking up on him after his release. Awesome vet, passionate, and great with both HUMANS AND ANIMALS!!!! We now drive over 20 minutes to get to Dr. James since weve moved, passing up at least 2 vets on the way. Wouldnt change a good thing. =)
