Would not recommend this clinic to anyone. My dog was misdiagnosed due to the poor effort of her visual and physical examination. It is my experience that they make educated guesses on dx. While the dr did examine my dog paw, she did not do a thorough exam on it. While she pulled, tried to bend and push on my dogs toe that was terribly swollen and painful, she did not once check between her toes, or any part of the bottom side of her paw (nails, pads, etc.). Her response to the so called "exam" on my dog was: "I think she might have broken her toe." While it was my decision to x-ray her paw or not, seeing as how the dr was very convinced that it was broke, I did not have an x-ray done. My dog was prescribed an anti inflammatory medication along with and antibiotic for a laceration she had. Within a day or two, the swelling did subside a bit, but by day 3 it was swollen worse than before. I had spoke with someone at the clinic and told them what was going on, to which they replied, the medication may just need more time. I ended up taking her to her normal clinic, by this time her paw so painful she refused to put it down at all. Upon the visit to her regular dr she noticed a tear on the bottom side of her nail, which should have been caught when brought to galveston clinic, but wasnt. Needless to say, after taking my dog to the vet for the same problem twice in once week, and spending almost $400, the tear in her nail aloowed for bacteria to settle in and cause an infection. I explained to the staff that my dog has a separation anxiety and these injuries happened as Hurricane Harvey came through, in detail. I feel like a more thorough exam should have been done on my dog and it wasnt. Otherwise the dr would have noticed the tear in her nail. I will not be back.

This place saved my dogs life when he was much younger. Elvis (my dog) was struck by a jeep doing 45mph at 7am. My wife and I called every vet around and none would see him. Not to mention most werent in any type of hurry to get to the actual clinic that early. So we called the Galveston Vet Clinic and they insisted we bring him in immediately. We rushed him in and they gave him about a 50 percent chance of living. But those doctors told me that they would do whatever it takes to insure his survival. And they did. Every doctor that works there is the best. They care. Not just the docs but the techs and the rest of the staff are extremely caring people. They dont look at your pet like a pet but like its your family member. We have been taking Elvis there ever since. Elvis loves the entire staff and they love him back. The best part is they are very good with the pitbull breed. All I can say is give them a chance. But just know that pets arent cheap. Meaning vets arent cheap. You get what you pay for.

I am always nervous with a new vet. Dr Knupple came in and did the most thorough exam I have ever had done on a pet. In fact, I think it was more thorough than any exam Ive ever had... We were there for a hip injury, and he did all kinds of physical exam maneuvers like checking for a drawer sign, and he even taught me about her. She smacked her lips, which he noted as a sign of discomfort. I never noticed that was the precursor to her laying her teeth on my hand when I am touching a sore spot. Anyhow, we started with a minimal treatment plan, which did the trick in no time. I love that! I thought about marking this rating down a star for price, but (1) the prices are competitive on the island, its not cheap down here, and (2) I cant really fault them for my budget. I am certain all their vets are great, because word of mouth is very positive about this place. Good luck!

My two mixed-breed dogs were seen by Dr. Henderson this week. He and the veterinary technician were thorough and compassionate. The minor diagnostic procedures (one on each dog) were quickly & skillfully performed. Dr. Henderson answered all of my questions, and we decided on future treatment options for my dogs together. This outstanding care was delivered at the same fair price as the cost estimate I had previously requested & received. What else?? The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. My waiting time was zero (although I expect to wait at any place that has to handle emergencies as well as appointments). Nope, the services were not free-- nor was I offered free pizza or beer-- but I will definitely be going back when my dogs need to see a vet again!

My little girl got sick a couple days ago. We took her to this place yesterday and because we are low income and they were really unwilling to work with us we had to bring her home and watch her die. Plus they said they were only going to charge us 107 for the tests and what-not and then ended up charging us 40+more than that. I will never take another of my little ones to them ever again! All they care about is the money, not helping people and their pets! They wouldnt even talk about payments, and it all had to be paid before she couldve been treated! I fully believe that she is dead now because of them.

I had used this office 10-15 years ago with my first puppy and the service was great. In the last 3 years I have obtained a total of 3 dogs. I was shocked and upset when we took our litter of puppies in for a "check-up" 15 mins of exam time...and was charged almost $300 dollars. We have kept every dog on the recommended schedules to be vacinated, bought food, and medicine from the office and it really upset me to be charged so much money for so little. Years ago they would have adjusted the fee not went strictly by the number of "patients"

This veterinary clinic and the people that work there are beyond awesome. They treat with respect, kindness, courtesy. They show such empathy and care in all they do. They are very reasonably priced compared to the other vets I have used. These doctors care about the animals, and they show it. I have recommended this vet to several people and will continue to, as I know their animals will receive the same great care that ours do. Thank you to All of you there!

Dr.Henderson is the best most compassionate carrying doc. He lets us go back and be with my PSvcDog when he had to have surgery. Granted, Ive worked in medical for years. So it doesnt scare me. It was helpful though cuz hubby helped lift my 115# mastiff. This is very unlike Dr.Ketler@DAH. Take note. PSD has adrenal disease. We treat using nutrition and low dose mess and Thorne Research supplements . Love Dr.H, he goes extra mile. Ive known since we were small.

I absolutely ADORE this clinic and especially Dr. Knupple and the front desk staff! They are miracle workers and I have been going to them for years. Ive tried other vets before, but none seemed to care nearly as much as Dr. Knupple and the rest of the Galveston Veterinary Clinic staff. If you truly care about your pets, you will put down as much money as you have to to make them feel better and happy. And theres no better place than to take them to this clinic.
