This place is HORRIBLE. They neglected my grandmother and caused her death. They failed to turn her on a regular basis and prevent bed sores / pressure sores. One of her sores / abscess (MRSA) was so deep when they did an incision and drainage of it the hole between her shoulder blades went all the way to her bone and was 3 fingers wide and knuckle deep. I am in health care and I have never seen anything like it. We visited her on a regular basis. We were not one of those familys that was never around to visit. We were there once a week if not more. A long time family friend was also in this facility. She died 3 days after my grandmother did. She also died of sepsis secondary to pressure / bed sores. Most of the nursing staff here doesnt speak / understand English well. Wed ask about her meds when we visited and sometimes they couldnt provide a medication list showing her meds were given. I have witnessed people roaming the halls in wheelchairs asking to be cleaned up and the nursing ignoring them or yelling at them to "be quiet". Also, they transported my grandmother to a hospital at 4 pm according to EMS records and didnt notify us until almost 9 pm. At that time they stated she "had just left to go to Baylor". This was totally untrue! Shed been in the hospital (admitted in a room) for HOURS! My grandfather was also a patient here. We gave them specific instructions to NOT take him to Mesquite Community hospital if he got ill. We told them we wanted him at Baylor Garland no matter what. He died at Mesquite Community.... where we asked them NOT to send him! The day he was transported to the hospital I had to call 5 times to find out where they had taken him. Every time I called they would tell me he was at a different hospital. Wed drive to the hospital they would say and the hospital wouldnt have him on record. This happened at 3 different hospitals. FINALLY, I found him on my own! They had NO IDEA where they had sent my grandfather. This place is a crap hole! Please, if you love your family member do not place them in this facility.

Please do not put your loved one in this facility, even if it is for temporary rehabilitation, because they will not leave this place (my mother died three weeks after being at this facility), and no one willingly disclosed information as to her death. The directors pretended that they were so concerned about the health and welfare of my mother in the beginning, but it was all about greed. They practically begged for our mother to be put into their facility, and then when we agreed because the location was close enough for my sister to check on her, and my sister communicated exactly how she wanted her room set up, and they did the opposite. My mother was in a room with cracked and drafty thin windows with old screened windows, and had a thin blanket on her bed. Im convinced that she caught a cold that led to other complications, but it was definitely due to their negligence, so do not risk losing your loved one by putting them into this dreadful place.

If you are given an of option where to place your loved one, DO NOT put them Advanced Healthcare of Garland! The entire staff, with exception of two are incompetent, inconsiderate and careless employees. The director walks around the building not paying an ounce of attention to the residents and the absolute horrible care they are receiving! They refuse to care for residents because theyre "afraid" of them. The entire building has never been cleaned in several years and the building is literally falling apart. It is the ABSOLUTE worst place to leave a loved one! It is heartbreaking to see so many health care employees in one facility fail to provide even the slightest amount of care to residents.
