I have experienced much of what everyone has the long waiting list to finally be seen . The phone calls that never get answered and rude employees when they do answer also the unprofessional Doctors and staff why would they care about you if there not going threw the pain and illnesses you are and naw I feel like my doctor thinks my symptoms are made up or a joke Ive been having hip pain went for a had a X-ray came out abnormal sent me to get a MRI came back normal but my symptoms are not from someone feeling normal I have been massaging my doctor a lot lately to let her know my symptoms and issues am having and she has suggested physical therapy when you have lower back pain and for them to say lose weight that might be the problem and you do just that and your pain has worsen what do they expect you to do my pain has gotten worse were I cant walk or move at times I have began to get bad headaches with my back pain I cant sleep I cant even put my socks or shoes on at times my thighs get numb sometimes and I get bad pinching feelings in my back at this point I dont know what to do she swears am ok but I dont feel ok and I dont get but messages to hang in there and wait a month to be seen again by my doctor smh hopefully I dont get worse when they see me in a month and hopefully it aint to late till they finally figure out whats really going on with me I dont even want to go to the ER Because I dont want to wait a long time I was thinking of going to another Presbyterian ER see if they find the same thing or they can figure out what I have and not wait till its to late why would parkland care what we have they aint going threw it so they dont care i have to go threw it every day

I have been dealing with this satellite clinic since Jan 2009, and overall, whether it be on the phone, or in person, the personnel have been very cordial. Especially the folks in the Adult Clinic. Considering the vast amount and array of their patient load, they do very well. Most times, my calls are returned in a quick and professional manner, i.e. within 2 hours or so, if it is not a Monday or Friday afternoon. Where the Garland clinic, and the Parkland system as a whole needs improvement, is the wait times, especially for filling out ones Rxs. That is an aborrent, and Ive waited 3 hours for perscriptions, vs. maybe just an hour or hour and a half to see my doctor on a scheduled appointment. Hint: Either call and get a scheduled visit, vs. a "Fast Track" walkin. (If you use the "fast Track walk in clinic, as they call it, it is on a first come, first serve basis, and you need to be there at opening time, which is either 7 or 8 a.m. Early, but necessary to avoid the rush. As for scheduled appointments, do them whenever you can, for this enables you to bump to the top of the list. Most times, Im seeing a doctor within 20 mins of my arrival to the clinic tops. 2) Do the mail in plan for perscriptions, whereby your meds can be sent via ground mail, or you could lose years off your life just waiting for your perscription(s) to get filled. 3) If you use the clinic regularly get to know the receptionist and some of the staff by first name, then on the phone, this makes it easier for the receptionist to get you to the department you need, quicker! Works for me every time!

This is really just to respond to the spiteful reviews regarding who you people "think" or judge as illegal immigrants. even if that were the case and they were in fact undocumented, are they not SICK HUMANS like YOU that deserve treatment? You say, "maybe, but NOT in my area!!!" Thats cruel. As human beings you should all be considerate. They probably live in the same communities you all live in. AND PROBABLY the people servicing or helping maintain your area, schools and helping raise your children. Do they not deserve to be seen? You all that commented with racists remarks are ignorant and the reason for the moral decline in America. Shame on you people. btw. 5th generation Mexican American here. The border crossed our family. we just stayed here. I am documented. To review a hospital so negatively because they open their doors to humans is low. Wow guys. I bet you enjoy the local Tex-Mex or Mexican eateries though, right? k.

The womens health area upstairs is ridiculous, I had an appt at 9AM but I wasnt seen until almost 12PM! Once I was called, I got a pretty bad LVN named Isabella. This woman, along with the other nurses I have been seen by in the past at this location seem to really NOT care or show much concern for whatever your problem is, they DONT offer any tests, all they do is "take look" and give you an explanation from there. I always feel as though no one believes me when I tell them what my symptoms/reason for the visit is. It just irritates me when a health provider doesnt show any sympathy or even try to understand your issues! To top things off, there are NO Gynos only NPs. I mean, WELL SHOOT, that explains why the care given is so crappy, IMO! I only go to this damn clinic because I live 5 mins away and the parkland plan is pretty ok and affordable to me AND I use it for emergency purposes, but honestly, it just plain sucks!

I went to get my flu shot on Wednesday and The kid told me The nurse wasnt there that day to give flu shots. I would have to come back next Wednesday to get it done. So I come back the next Wednesday to get my flu shot and the kid said it will be $5 dollars I was like y u didnt tell me that when I was up here last week on Wednesday. Parkland workers are kids thats y I keep saying the kid cause I knw grown people will let you knw exactly what you need to do so you will be prepared instead of having to waste gas. Im not letting any of those kids help me with any of my business cause they dont have enough common sense to tell you things in advance so you will not be surprised about anything! I still havent had my flu shot because of the non communication from the kid.

Parkland is there for people in need. Parkland is overcrowded because (sadly) there are so many people in need. I have private insurance, but I choose to go to :Parkland...because they have some of the best doctors/specialists in the nation. And for those blaming the undocumented for being here...blame the employers who roll out the welcome mat to exploit them for cheap labor. You cant blame a mother or father for trying to seek a better life (because we would all do it if needed) more that you blame the businesses profiting from their plight. ps/fyi: net immigration has been near 0% --or negative-- for years. The undocumented arent the problem. Washington DC dysfunction is.

If you want URGENT Care, meaning the same day, you simply must plan on arriving around 4:30 in the morning. The line starts forming then and the office can only take a limited number of patients. I would say 6:30 is the cut off to be able to be seen the same day. By then the quota will be full. So....go grab some breakfast burritos and coffee and be the smarter patient who doesnt get left out by waiting until opening to show up. Outsmart the overcrowded system and enjoy your morning while doing it. No reason to let it ruin YOUR day.
