The worst experience of my life. RUDE, DIRTY OFFICE, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNCARING GROUP I walk in with my dying 16 year old Yorki and ask for euthanasia for him. The receptionist was not friendly at all, never even looked at the dog in my arms, gets the paperwork and says the vet does not get here until 8:30 AM. I wait. The office is dirty and the employees show no acknowledgement of me being there with a dying animal. The vet comes and I go into a room with 3 people. The bare steel table. The vets tech trys to take Pepper from me to weigh him (really?). The vet and I at the same time say, "you dont need to weigh him". When the vet realized I said it as well, he takes a step back from the table, looks at me and says, "you dont tell us what to do, or how to do our jobs, not here" using an angry hateful tone. Concerned for my dog, I said nothing. I lay Pepper on the table, I ask for a towel, but no one acknowledged me. The vet tech keeps putting his gloved hands on pepper, the vet says, "he has to hold the dogs head". The vet tech grabs Peppers neck and hind quarters to scoot him around on the table, Im still trying my best to comfort my baby. At one point I move the vet techs hand from my dogs neck and say he cant breath. The vet proceeds to give Pepper a shot, uses a tourniquet (Ive never had a vet do that) starts to give him the shot, some apparently got into my dogs system before the needle comes off the syringe and squirts the medicine on the table. He gets another shot ready and the same thing happens. So he just waits. The vet made the remark that Pepper was anesthetized only. The vet never speaks to me, only to his helper. The vet checks his heart and its still beating. So he stands there and waits. I say, as timid as I can, can you give him more? (Im brokenhearted over my dog, and furious at this rude, unprofessional, unfeeling veterinarian. I hold my tongue until I feel my baby has passed). The vet is looking at me like he could punch me in the face, he just waits. The vet checks his heart again and says hes gone. I picked up my dog and said, I do not trust you, I am not leaving my baby here, I am taking him to another vet to make sure. And proceed to walk out. The vet comes unglued, screaming behind me and walking up to the front. Screams at the receptionist to never let me come there again. I take him to BUCKINGHAM-PLANO ROAD VET CLINIC, I walk in and ask, can a vet put a stethoscope to my babys heart to make sure hes gone. Immediate concern from the lady up front, she runs to get the vet, vet was there in less than a minute and take me to a room. She checks Pepper and says yes hes gone. She was so concerned and sweet, she ask the vet tech to go get a towel to put under him. Even tho he was gone, she still had empathy and compassion. I ask her what I owed her, and she said, You have been through enough today, you dont owe me anything. Grateful is an understatement. Worst decision Ive ever made, was to take my dog to a vet I had never been to. I am 54 years old and have had animals all my life, been to tons of vets. I have never experienced anything like these people.

My entire family and i have been going here for over 18 years. We recently took our cat in because she had a hurt foot and was not putting any pressure on it. I never reveal to them how long we have been going there unless they ask. My wife and i are both nurses and we understand sometimes it is traumatic on the parents when their "baby" is getting treatment. However, the moment we put our cat on the table the tech grabbed her by the neck and squeezed. So how did she respond? She was mad! Had he been gentle maybe the outcome would have been different. Id like to say things got better from there, but they did not. I ends up assisted him in holding her down which i thought would be more gentle, but then he put his hands around her neck! She made a gagging/choking sound and looked to be visibly choking and unable to breathe. My wife told him SHES CHOKING! And he took his hands off, thank goodness. Her mouth was open and tongue was out and she was gasping for air! Then the vet came in and more of the same happened! He went to look in her ear and she hissed and moved, all 3 of them jumped in fear (really?). So i reached my hand out to pet her and tell her it was ok. The Vet then told me and my wife sternly NOT to do that and to go sit down in the chairs on the other side of the room. They acted like she was a wild crazy animal, when all she was is scared of how rough they were on her. I should have said something right then but i kept my composure. In the end she got a shot for the pain in her leg and we were told that if it persisted for two weeks to return, but im worried that the whole experience of looking in the ears, rectal temp, etc. may have actually hurt her leg more while they were restraining her. We didnt need all that extra stuff! We just wanted her paw assessed and treated. Long story short, we will NEVER be back and we will never recommend this place. I have also told my family about this who have been using them for almost 20 years. Im embarrassed i ever went to them or recommended them. Very sad, not to mention my wife and i are horrified of how they treated our baby. If you have a cat please look elsewhere. My wife and i would hate for any cat owner to have to endure what we did for a simple shot and a recommendation.

Everybody here is so kind and helpful, I feel like they really care. They have gone above and beyond to help my dog who had laser surgery to have a tumor removed from his ear. We took him back several times because he popped his stitches which stunted his recovery, and they cared for his wound over those repeated visits, never charging us for the small visits. They even gave us a spare cone when they noticed that ours had gotten a little beat up. They have secured us as customers for sure, I truly appreciate all that have done!

It was an awful experience. When we first entered the receptionist was crabby unfriendly and unprofessional. The wait was terrible or just long. It was extremely long due to the chit chat amongst the workers and all there personal lives. There was not any more than 2 dogs and owners in line. We boarded our 2 year old. The price was ridiculous due to the shots were outrageously priced. The boarding kennels small and not clean and smelled like a skunk farm. We do not recommend this kennel nor Vet. services.

Ive been going to Dr. Joel for years and I would never go anywhere else. The entire staff treats my pets like theyre members of their own families and I always feel confident that my babies are getting the best care possible. No matter where Ive lived in the Dallas area, I always keep driving here - its totally worth it.
