I would sue this place in a flash! Their negligence and incompetence almost cost my dog her life! My small pug-mix was taken in after she started displaying difficulty breathing and was coughing up drops of blood. The vet and her staff gave us a list of tests to run (which added up to about $500) and were ridiculously rude to us when we asked for a breakdown of the tests and whether some were more important than the other. I believe her exact statement was along the lines of "yeah pet care is very expensive so if you dont want to do these, we can just put her to sleep". What a ridiculous, insensitive statement! After doing all the tests, we took our baby home for the night only to find her conditioning worsening through the night. Next morning, we rushed her to the Animal ER in McKinney (highly recommended!) and as soon as the vet there saw her, she instantly recognized the symptoms of rat poisoning (apparently shortness of breath and coughing blood are among the first recognizable signs of rat poisoning). My dog had to get ALL the tests done again, get a Vit K shot, Plasma transfusion AND be kept overnight at the hospital and despite all that, the total bill for the ER was only about $500. Contrast that to McKinney Animal Hospitals charge which resulted in nothing! My blood boils as I even pass by this quack "hospital"

They are friendly, love our dogs, and we rest easy knowing that our dogs remain healthy. We also use them for boarding of our dogs. Our dogs are happy to get there and still happy when picked up. Edit - About 8 months ago we experienced a round of ring worm with our dogs. Unfortunately it was EXTREMELY incorrect and we ended up spending a fortune in vet bills, sulphur baths, shaving our dogs, and more. We know the analysis was incorrect because they did admit they had some bad batches of Petri dishes. Also, this correlated directly with their confusion of how they had never seen so many animals come in with ringworm this year. Beyond this, they did not need my dogs to come in for the follow up clean checks (which is a requirement for a clean bill of health). Oh yeah, did I mention that we are out hundreds of dollars for this experience? And we had to quarantine our pets, and the area they stayed still smells of the sulphur lime baths we had to give them? I was really happy here but given they will not own up to their mistake or reimburse us for the misdiagnosis, I cannot recommend this vet any longer.

I would love to be able to find a vet for my dog that actually cares about the pet and not just our money. Its really ridiculous when your traveling into a mosquito infested area and my dog has never missed a heart worm preventative even one month. I keep her on them every month even winter and I wasnt even due to buy the next till April 14th 2016 say right on her chart. I call and they dont care at all. I have to get an anual exam to buy more tri-heart when shes never missed a single one even promised to come back and have the exam but my brother was in a serious accident almost died and we rushed to TN to be by his side and I wanted to pick up her preventative and all I got was no. That says enough. They do not care about anything but money. Sad! Now I will find another vet and she has missed her dose because I didnt have time to wait an hour when my brother was in critical condition and I had to rush to be with him. I am very disappointed in McKinney Animal Hospital at 4630 W. Eldorado Pkwy. I thought that was one place that wasnt like that but I was mistaken.

After a traumatizing expensive ($1700) visit at the Emergency Animal Hospital of Collin County to discover our tiny 15week old puppy had ingested rat posion, we were sent to the McKinney Animal Hospital for follow-up care. Dr. Frye was tremendously compassionate and understanding as she explained that our puppy would need a blood transfusion in order to survive. She explained all of our options and even worked to get the cost down as low as possible. Unfortunately we still could not afford another $1000 for the procedure and had to make the gut wrenching decision to put her down. Dr. Frye was so understanding. She called later and said that the clinic would still like to do the procedure at their cost in order to save our puppies life. If it werent for Dr. Frye, and the McKinney Animal Hospital, we would not have our puppy with us today! They are more than compassionate, they are God Sent Angels! They have earned my business and now the business of many of my friends. You cant go wrong with this clinic!!!!

After calling several veterinarian offices in McKinney yesterday to make the hardest appointment a pet owner dreads to make, this place was the most sincere and available to get us in quick. Other offices wanted to wait until late in the day and a few even said several days. Since my dog was a new patient and I did have some paper work to fill out, they did narrow the amount of information needed down, explained everything in detail on the procedure, along with giving us the time we needed to say goodbye. Some vets will require you to let them take your pet to the back to have IVs started, they did not and allowed me to hold her the entire time. they have a nice room with a couch so that the whole family can come to say good bye and after they let us stay for as long as we needed. They honestly seemed to care even though this is something they are used to dealing with daily. To make such a sad time better, my fur babys ashes have already been delivered back for me to come pick-up.

Ive been going to McKinney Animal Hospital for about 20 years. When we lost our Border Collie mix in April of 2010 they showed so much love and respect it really helped us deal with our loss. Recently our little 11 year old Pug went in to be checked because of lack of appetite and some fullness to her belly. Xrays were taken which revealed a large tumor. We were given an appointment for first thing the next morning at the Animal Diagnostic Clinic in Dallas. Long story short, ultrasound confirmed large tumor attached to liver and surgery was immediately performed. That was last week and today we are happy to report our little girl is doing much better and should be home in a couple days. If McKinney Animal Hospital hadnt responded as quickly as they did I hate to think what wouldve happened. We appreciate all the help, care and kindness the entire staff has always showed us. Cindy

I took my dog here since on Fourth of July weekend, everything was booked already. I have boarded my dog many times throughout the year when out of town at 2 other locations and have always been told that the dog weighs 47 lbs. Well, when my husband checked out, this place told him that she weighed 58 lbs and that they had to charge $5 extra per day. I mean, give me a break! What a lie....and my dog was so scared that she would not go to the back to get on a scale so my husband could call them out on their bs. She leaves other places just fine. This place obviously did not treat her well and probably did not even feed her Science Diet maintenance food like they say they do bc she had the worst diarrhea afterwords from either the food or anxiety from staying from such a crappy establishment. Never again will I come here.
