My husband and I moved to Allen recently and decided to take out Bassets here and try them out since their old vet is a much longer drive. The vet looks for major health issues that dont exist within the animal. She gave us a huge scare, assuring us our dog has Lepto and worked up a treatment plan that was well over $1,000. We didnt agree with what the vet was saying so we took her to the vet she grew up with right away and got a totally different story, which ended up being accurate. They over charge (BIG TIME), conduct unnecessary tests ("We need to test her urine, but it wont tell us if she has it. We also need to do this other test but it wont tell us either. Due to the other two tests not telling us if she has lepto, we need to do this third test. You see, the first 2 are for kicks and giggles." not verbatim but basically) , and would rather treat than diagnose. (I dont know about you but Id rather figure out whats wrong than throw pills down their throats and cross my fingers.) OH! The worst part of the visit! One of our dogs symptoms was drinking too much water, so of course the vet says she needs to give her subq water (shoot a needle into her skin and inject a lot of water). We knew it was only $30 to do so and we figured better safe than sorry so we said okay. They then took Bella to the back room and began. For what felt like forever we could hear Bella wailing and crying out being in so much pain. They didnt update us or say anything to let us know why she was hysterical but that was the hardest thing to listen to. Our poor baby girl was traumatized. :( We will never ever take any pets back here and I wouldnt recommend them to anyone.

The vets are good but the office staff and vet techs are terrible. I was about 15 minutes late for an appointment. Then I spent 10 minutes chasing my young lab in the parking lot when he slipped his leash. I wlaked in the door, told them who I was and was told "When do you want me to reschedule you for?" Not an "Im sorry" nothing. Obviously not big on customer service. When I asked why I hadnt been called - she told me - I left you a message. When I checked my phone in the vehicle, sure enough she had left a message, while I was chasing my dog. To make matters worse, I asked for copies of rabies certificates for my dogs & they gave me a blank computer printout. I think the worst was when I was chasing the dog & 2 vet techs were standing there watching me - never offered a bit of help. I had to make this appointment more than a week ago & now they want me to wait another week. Ill find another vet. The vet is good, but not good enough to have to deal with her staff.

Not for Cat owners!!! My cat was experiencing issues with blood in the urine (UTI). Took him in and they found nothing wrong, no crystals, stones, infection, etc. They put him on an antibiotic and pain meds. 2 days later I had to return as he was getting worse. They then took blood and did a urinalysis and stated they found nothing concerning, but gave him more pain meds and antibiotics and recommended wet food. Now one week later he was at his worst so we took him to a new vet. The new vet found he did have crystals and they had been cutting up the inside of his bladder, which made him uncomfortable and not eat/drink. Had he been diagnosed properly the first..or the SECOND time, he would be fine right now and not be incredibly dehydrated and weak. I am so disappointed and upset with them, although they were friendly, I feel for the amount of money I spent, they should have been much more thorough.

Weve been going to Allen Vet Center for 8 years and love it. They have seen my dog for both chronic issues and various one time issues and have always presented me with a variety of diagnostic and treatment options, allowing me to chose a path that fits my needs. After being seen for bigger issues the doctor has called to check in and see how he is doing. The desk staff is always very friendly and helpful. They have even walked me and my kids out to the car with umbrellas to help us avoid getting soaked by a pouring rain. Dr. Davis is our regular vet and I really like her. She seems to really enjoy her job and I trust her implicitly. I have seen all of the vets at one point and would recommend them all. This is a great practice.

Professional, courteous, and caring...from the moment we walked through the door for our appointment, the quality of care provided, and the follow-up contacts...the entire staff was absolutely the best. My dog had surgery and I drove 2 hours and 45 minutes to go to this veterinary clinic...when you find a good vet who truly cares for your pets, who has a wonderful sense of compassion, who has a clean and comfortable clinic setting, and whose entire staff puts you at ease...they are a jewel. And I would drive across country for this level of care for my furry family members! I truly thank Allen Veterinary clinic and the entire staff for taking such wonderful care of my girl Saphira. We have taken our dog to Allen Vet Center for 6+ years and have been very pleased with the compassion and caring we have seen. The four doctors (we have known one of them for most of her career) and the staff have treated us and our yorkie with love and undertanding that is almost amazing. When our dog needed emergency care they not only called us when we were out of town, transported him to the emergency clinic for specialized care, waited with him until we arrived and continually checked on him until he was well again. We could not ask for a better place for care, for boarding and for every day vet care. If you think of your pet as "one of the family" this is the place for you!

I love these people so much that I dont want to move away from the area. I have known Dr. Davis since 1985. Soon after that I met Dr. Osteen when both of them helped to take care of my beloved chocolate lab at my home while they were waiting for their own clinic to be built. I find everyone there to be so helpful and welcoming no matter what is going on in my or my dogs life. They have taken care of 1 cat and 10 dogs of ours. My dogs LOVE going to "see the girls". They have all been there for us when we were in dire need of help. You are not going to find better help and expertise anywhere! If I were giving them stars, they would get the top score of 5!

Loving, excellent care. I could not be more pleased. Staff is very friendly. My animals are not afraid to enter the office, or to be left for treatment. Everyone is very welcoming, and remembers the names of my animals. I have had two minor emergencies, and been told both times to come right in, one time at the end of the day. The staff has also been gracious about calling in prescriptions for meds, dog food, etc., even when we have travelled out of town. Even when one dog went onto a specialist, the staff continued to follow my dogs care, and contacted me periodically to see how my dog was progressing.
