I took one of my dogs here a few weeks ago and the experience was decent (aside from the very loud girl on the phone the whole time and the doctors inability to tell me exactly what was wrong) so I decided to try them again with my second dog. One good thing I will say is that both times they have been able to get me in that day. Today my appointment was at 11:15...I didnt see a doctor until 11:50. When the dr. came in (not Dr. Carver) he shook my hand and asked me a few questions about my dog. He then began to feel around on my dogs body and I noticed that he still had blood on his hands from another animal!!!! So what that tells me is that he neither washed nor sanitized his hands before shaking mine and touching my dog. After about a minute of feeling around on my dog he recommended that we do a $50 x-ray to check for bladder stones. Ok...sounds reasonable so I agreed. Next thing I know a very loud lady is coming in to take my very scared dog away to get his xray. 10mins later someone opens the door halfway tosses my dog on the floor instead of handing him to me and says "We will be back in a few minutes". I notice that my dog now smells like baby powder and has obviously gone to the bathroom on himself. At this point I step out of the room and asked to speak to the Dr. whos name is on all of the certificates...Dr. Carver. I was rudely informed that he was not available to speak with and wouldnt be in office until tomorrow. After about 10 more mins (and listening to a conversation from the nurses about how much they weigh before and after "excretion") the results of the x-ray are in...no bladder stones. The doctor tells me he needs to look at something under the microscope and he will be right back. He comes back with several medications and a shot for my dog. He lets me know that my dog had a staph infection and proceeds to give my dog the shot and tells me how to give the medications (which included pain medication when I had never mentioned that my dog was in any sort of pain). After a total hour and a half Im ready to check out. When I go to check out the total has now been set at $260!! Other than the price of the office visit and the $50 x-ray the doctor never discussed pricing with me, Turns out he had done a urine analysis without asking me or telling me the cost. When I complained I was told that no costs could be removed. I complained a little more and another woman comes forward to discuss it with me. She addressed me as "sweetie" (Im 25), interrupted me while I was explaining the problem, and finally took the charge off. I wound up paying $225 and left as quick as I could. I certainly will never be going back there and I hope anyone who reads this will think twice. I plan to call and speak with Dr. Carver about the experience tomorrow.

Dr. Carver and his staff are some of the most caring people I have ever met. Dr. Carver lived a few streets down from where I grew up and in a time of crisis I remembered him. We are so thankful to have had the good fortune that he was still practicing. He saved our cat Mercedes life. She had been taken to an ER the day before and had a partial blood transfusion done. When we took her to Dr. Carver she was in bad shape. Dr. Carver did a full blood transfusion and kept her at his clinic for 8 days. The staff here really cares and I am so grateful for their generosity and more importantly their love. They went above and beyond what was required or asked of them to help Mercedes. Not only did they save her life but they also made sure she was comfortable. Dr. Carver was beyond generous with treatment and time. He called several times directly from his cell phone to check on her. Many other vet clinics were trying to gouge us, and here at Humane Animal Hospital all they wanted to do was help and that they did. Amy & Sheryl were so friendly and comforting. You can see it when they smile, that they really want to help and their compassion is something I will forever remember. Dr. Carver has left a lasting impression on that I will never forget how gracious and caring he was. This is man who treats you like a fellow family member and I would trust him with my own life. He never rushed us, only comforted us and I know he worked his butt off to find a way to save Mercedes. I feel blessed and lucky to have met him. He was kind, loving, and generous. I know Dr. Carver has only the best intentions and he has a great heart. I would highly recommend Dr. Carver to anyone. We have officially switched vets and I will only to my pets to Dr. Carver. Thank you again Dr. Carver for the love, attention, and care you and ALL your staff showed. You & your staff saved Mercedes life. Thank you for calling us late at night to check on her, that was such a warm gesture. Human Animal Hospital is clearly the choice for those who want a caring VET clinic. <3 Jose Castro-Frenzel 7:51 PM March 17th, 2016

Will not be going here again. A few weeks ago my parrot flew into the fan and got a head injury.. i called a bunch of places but this was the only place in Plano that could get me in. I waited for over an hour but i was only a walk in so thats understandable to people who had appointments before me. If i hadnt taken my bird there to get a sterroid injection she probably would of died since she had a minor concussion. The vet (Dr. Carter or somthing) said to follow up in two weeks and he would help me trim her wings so she wouldnt fly into the fan again. Today was the day of my appt. I went there and was greeted by a totally different vet who has a major russian accent. Apparently there is more than one vet that works here. Who knows if this vet was even an exotics or bird expert like the other guy. He and two of his loud assistants trimmed all but a few feathers on my birds wings. You are NEVER supposed to trim all of them like that! Dr. C said he wanted her to glide and not gain altitude but now she drops to the ground. If she tries really hard she can fly like she used to with all her wings. After her feathers all dropped to the ground they clipped her nails.. If the loud assistant who barely spoke english wasnt there to stop the vet from clipping too much, my bird might be missing toes. He trimmed too far on 3 or 4 nails and then they put un-named yellow powder on her nails to stop it. Who knows if it was a special bird powder. (dog/cat powder to stop bleeding on nails can hurt birds). Oh and to top it off, the russian speaking vet then starts trying to trim her beak... Once he realized he couldnt take off as big a chunk as he wanted with his surgical scissors, he opts for a small chunk towards the end all while dodging her tongue trying not to cut it off also... Never Never NEVER going here again. absolutely the worst Myself and my angel of a bird have ever been treated.
