***READ BEFORE YOU GO TO THIS DENTIST!!!*** Wow, Im shocked this dentist office has this high of a rating although Im sure that most people do not double check their numbers as far as what they are asking insured patients to pay out of pocket. All I can say is double check! This office is horrible! Went in for our cleanings in early March and had to bring my daughters back to have some cavities filled. No big deal, we chose this dentist because they were in network with us... However, I was shocked when we arrived and they told me that I had to pay for the work upfront before they even billed my insurance! I reluctantly agreed (my first mistake) even though my gut was telling me that this was not how they should be doing things. So I paid up front... They told me that I would receive a refund after they received payment from the insurance. Fast forward several months... I still havent received my refund. Ive had to call them every couple of weeks... No one calls me back and they just keep passing me off to different people where I have to explain my story all over again. Conveniently, their finance manager always seems to be just leaving for the day when I call to speak to her- lol. In addition to that, they told me that my refund amount was going to be $68 when according to my insurance, it should be $135.20. Ive been given every lame excuse known to man... From "we havent heard back from the insurance yet" to, "your insurance doesnt cover all of the expenses" (more on that in a minute)... You name it, theyve tried it... They were hoping that I would just get tired of the fight and let it go but what they are doing is illegal which was confirmed yesterday when my insurance joined me in a conference call with them. Conveniently the finance manager had just stepped out for the day so we had to speak to someone else in the department who apparently doesnt have the authority to double check insurance numbers- lol. That apparently is Marisols job and no one can do it for her. On the conference call, my insurance rep went through the charges with them line by line... She even calculated the amount I should get back with him over the phone (I had already done this by the way several times) they just kept telling me that my numbers were wrong but couldnt give me a reason why other than Marisol apparently added it up and said they were. When the insurance asked him where his difference in numbers is coming from... he said other fees... and thats when my insurance rep called them out on what they were/are doing. She reminded them (as I did numerous times) that because they are in network with my insurance, they are not allowed to tack on a bunch of other fees... They have to honor their contracted pre-decided amounts... the guy was stunned and you could tell that he didnt realize that what they were doing was wrong. Its been over 4 months since the dental work we had done was completed, and I still havent received my money!! DO NOT GO HERE! And if you have already, check your bills with your insurance. Whoever is running the show in the finance department is clearly doing this intentionally and is a crook... And if its not intentional, then they shouldnt be in charge because they dont understand the job or how insurance networks work. ***Also, several staff members are rude both in person and on the phone.

very bad experience dissappointed The tooth could not be saved, I knew that so they pulled it, painlessly. But, it was absessed. They pulled it Friday late afternoon. I asked if I would need pain med, they said no, the offender was gone, but just come back if I have a problem. OH? On Friday night??? YOu stay open all weekend then??? Needless to say I was in agony through out the weekend. There is another tooth absessed they didnt address. No pain meds, overdosed on asprin, stomach aches, could not get out of bed it hurt so bad I just cried all weekend. I cant believe a dentist would pull an abcessed tooth and NOT give pain meds. He offered me Motrin. I can get motrin at the drug store but it doesnt work well on me. Twice I asked them to remember it was Friday night, they ignored me and again, "just come back if you have a problem". RIGHT. I had a huge problem. I had that pain for 4 to 5 days prior to that and hadnt slept. You can imagine being tired and in pain and not sleeping, what that does to you. Im 60 years old. Im not a drug addict. Why would they not address pain???? I am still in pain and the procedure was 3 and 1/2 days ago. Still have the infection!!! GO TO MEXICO. AT least in MX I know I wont get pain meds. But, they do a better job at 1/2 the price. Never again. Neglegence is their game: Family dentistry of neglegence. Oh, so afraid to give 3 or 4 pain pills out. What is wrong with them?????

Ive been coming to this practice for over 10 years and this is the 1st time Ive been given a bad experience during treatment. Dr. Munoz is horrible! She doesnt bother to greet you by name or introduce herself and is gossiping with her assistants during your dental work! I went for in a cleaning, told me I needed 3 fillings and wisdom teeth removed cause theyre not needed, like you just want to get my money. A week later I went for the fillings she recommended and during the procedure, she says "oh you need one more, whoever examined you overlooked this tooth". Like youre the that saw me! She is in a rush, horrible work!

Do not go with Dr. Rebata. No experience and had me in temporaries for over 5-6 weeks going back often for mistake after mistake. One of the visits they lost a temporary tooth in the room- so unprofessional! Very disappointed with the lack of sympathy from the staff after my complaints. Very disappointed overall and I dont recommend most of the staff to my friends, family, and colleagues, which include other health care professionals from the valley. I paid all cash and got treated very poorly. Dr. Rebata is inexperienced and does not deserve to work there among the other dentists.

Went for my 6 month cleaning and exam and was very pleased in how well they treated me. The dental hygienist Javier was very informative and and answered all my questions. I had brought my 2 month old with me (expecting him to be sleeping lol) but that didnt happen so while I was getting my teeth cleaned baby starts crying and some assistants(?) came and were so helpful in trying to calm down the baby especially Justice? Javier didnt seemed to be bothered and was very cool about. Very friendly outstanding staff. Felt bad though. Needless to say Id probably wont do that again.

I was very impressed with all the staff. They were all very friendly and helpful. From the moment I called to make an appointment, to Dr. Kim himself calling the next day to see how my daughter was doing having had a root canal the day before. He treated my daughter like a patient and not just a kid. He explained to her everything he was going to do before he did it and was very thoughtful and attentive to her needs. I felt very at ease throughout the whole process and I highly reccommend Harlingen Family Dentistry.
