We did not have a good experience at this office. It was highly recommended but ours was not as pleasant. Dr. Gonzales was professional but an Asian woman in his staff is very unprofessional. We wrote this email below and have not received a response or even an apology for this womans actions. To Whomever It Concerns, Does it hurt? Is a very simple question that many children of a young age will ask many times. They ask this question because they want to feel safe and secure. During my sons appointment my son asked this question to the lady who ran his tests prior to seeing Dr. Gonzales. You would think that the response from a "certified professional" would be something like, no of course not, this will not hurt at all or there is nothing to be afraid of. Unfortunately this was not the response and now I have become appalled at what I had to hear. The first response to my sons question, "does it hurt?", from the "certified professional" was "do you want it to hurt?". I was caught off guard by this response but my son was not. Since this individual never told him that it was not going to hurt, he felt scared and insecure, as he would the entire interaction with this individual. My son would go on to ask the same question around 4 times because he would be asked to do something he had never done. This individual continued to answer, "do you want it to hurt?". The last time my son asked this question, the individual answered, "do you want me to hurt you?". At this point in time I asked this individual, "do you hurt children?". She didnt answer yes or no, but just stayed silent. I am sick to my stomach at the disrespect my son received during his visit and do not understand how this individual can work with children. If this individual would have treated my son with some dignity and kindness the whole appointment would have been completely different. My son lost this persons trust from the moment he received the answer, "do you want it to hurt?". I do not know how long you have worked with children or what type of education you have but this kind of treatment is unacceptable. One of the reasons we made this appointment at your office is because we received many recommendations from friends and colleagues. Now, whenever I am asked about this office I can only tell them about this experience. The only thing I want from your office is a hand written note from this individual giving an apology to my son. It broke my heart when we were tucking our son into his bed and he asked my why the individual at the Dr.s office was mean to him. I hope this never happens to any other child again.

Dr. Gonzales has been my childrens doctor for many years. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my childrens vision care. Because my daughter was misdiagnosed and wore glasses before Dr. Gonzales determined she didnt need them. I wouldnt trust anyone else...
