Dr. Wong was very rude. I have a nevus, or freckle in my eye, that I have known about for years, and he wanted me to take a picture of (for about $50 more). I declined and he acted annoyed. I then said I was told it was just a bit of melanin in my eye. He told me "No, that would mean you have cancer." I commented that I thought "melanin" was pigment and "melanoma" was cancer, and he told me "But I know what you were thinking." (No, I was not thinking I had melanoma in my eye.) My husband has some health issues and speaks English as a second language. Dr. Wong became exasperated that my husband could not follow his rapid fire instructions as quickly as he would have liked. He scolded me for not getting my husband glasses sooner, even though I explained twice that he had lost his last pair, and the pair he had with him were very old. While my husband was being examined with his eyes dilated, Dr. Wong exclaimed loudly, "Thats interesting! Thats bad!" twice until we felt obliged to to ask what he was referring to. He informed us that my husband had a "defect" in his retina. I asked twice what that meant, the first time he said, "It means he has a defect in his retina." The second time he repeated, "It means he has a defect in his retina. You can take a picture of it if you want to." I will never go there again. On the plus side, the ladies at the front desk seemed very friendly.

Ive had the pleasure of being a patient here for the past 14 years. My dad first brought me here in 5th grade and I have yet to feel the need to seek elsewhere as long as Im living in Houston. Dr. Wong is friendly, caring, and personable. He never fails to ask how my mom or dad are doing when I visit him for my yearly checkup. I mean this man sees hundreds of patients per year but is still able to ask such a simple and meaningful question to make you feel like he truly cares for everyones well-being! He always gives me advice on what I can do to take better care of my eyes, which helps give me a better understanding of how important our eyes are to our overall health. Dr. Wong doesnt rush through appointments but hes able to get me in quickly, complete a thorough exam, answer all my questions, and move on with my day. The receptionists, Anna and Valerie, are also wonderful. Its no wonder he hired those two; theyre a powerhouse! Those two are able to handle things with my insurance and prescriptions so effortlessly. Valerie is especially great at adjusting your frames to fit your head and nose properly. Ive even brought in a number of sunglasses for her to modify because she always does it just right. This place just has it all. I cant say enough good things about Dr. Wong and his team at Matrix Vision.

I called several times asking about prince ranges and available appointment times prior to making my appointment last night at 5pm for my twins annual exam as they already wear glasses. I was quoted prices for things I never had to pay for before without having even confirmed with my insurance and my girls had not even seen the Dr yet. In trying to avoid out of pocket for the lenses, I said I didnt want to go over the allowed benefit for their frames so they brought out 3 plastic bins with frames all lumped on top of each other and said that this was what I had to choose from. The front desk had a complete lack of valid information which didnt not keep them from arguing with me. They were rude and while on the phone with my insurance giving MY social security number and personal information ignoring me asking them to disconnect the call and continued discussing product AFTER I said I would be leaving. Complete lack of professionalism, no customer service skills at all in addition to a lack of knowledge of benefits and how to explain a process to a customer. At the end she said if my insurance covered the lenses (which it would but they were ignorant of that fact at the time they were spouting off charges) it would be okay...no, this experience and the way I was handled was not okay.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS GUY!! My regular eye doctor was on vacation at the time and my glasses had been ruined. So unknowingly I decided to go to this place and it was a major mistake. When I met this individual I noticed him to be a little pretentious and rude to his employs and other customers however I let it go by because I really needed new glasses at the moment. After my eye exam, I was looking for new frames but their prices were way too much for me so I decided to purchase them else where. Long story short, after I received my new glasses I noticed that I was not able to see with that prescription so I went back (twice ) and instead of being a helpful Doctor and not just get u in and out in a blitz, he simply blamed it on the place where they were manufactured and completely avoided me to get more innocent customers in. Couldnt even spend 5 minutes to help find out the real issue and literally said he "waisted time" with me. He couldnt do anything about it and simply because I didnt purchase the glasses at his store. He was so rude and arrogant. Unfortunately I have to go back to MY doctor for ANOTHER eye exam and if something changes in my prescription I will demand my money back!

We have been patients of Dr. Wongs for 8+years now and he is very personable. Anna, Office Manager, is wonderful as well, very helpful. Recently, I was having eye spasm issues and was time for new contacts anyway. After being in four different doctors offices over that week, I was at my wits end and called by chance and got an appointment that same day. I explained and showed Dr. Wong what was going on with me, and he ordered every test available in his office. After all tests were normal, he did his own test (looking into my eyes with magnifying glass/light/etc). Before I left he told me he would review some of his neurology books over the weekend and will call me Monday. His office opens at 10am and my phone rang at 10am! I was SO impressed and excited that a doctor finally gave me something to move forward with!! He even sent me to a neuro-opthamologist/specialist and they confirmed his findings! THRILLED TO HAVE DR WONG as my familys eye doctor!!!

I am a long time client of Dr. Wong. Up until this past year, wonderful service from everyone; however, I will now never do business here again due to the front desk. Its a shame because Dr. Wong is very personable. I was promised my sons glasses on Monday. Never received a call. I left messages Monday and Tuesday, they are closed Wednesday. I just called again and was told that a lens is on backorder and I may have the glasses next week. When I asked why none of my messages were returned I was given some bs about how they are short staffed. Never once was I offered a sincere apology or offered to speak with the manager. In fact, Valerie who I was on the phone with so was busy carrying on other conversations, she couldnt be bothered with me. I dont spend my money where its not appreciated and where I get lied to. Youve lost a great customer!
