IMO they have terrible customer service, front staff are not trained and cant answer simple questions, vet cuts corners I suppose to keep the cost down but not right if at the expense of the animals with life threatening issues - like Dr Dawson did not do a blood test before dosing powerful controlled substance pharmaceuticals when it was long overdue according to my current vet, tiny cramped lobby too small for multiple animals especially mixing dogs and cats, awful small parking and no street parking, very rude vet with huge ego, and they take the scared animals to the back room for strangers to poke and prod when pets should be comforted by their mommas being in the room with them - Ive never had a vet remove my pets from my arms to give shots or draw blood, etc. A very strange vibe there too with stressed or bored looking young staff with no people/professional skills. The times I tried to use them the people in the lobby were rolling their eyes and talking amongst ourselves how slow and inadequate the staff are. Im used to great vet care where my pets are properly and sweetly cared for so I went back to my old vet clinic even though my long term doctor left which is why I gave the North Durham clinic a try. Cannot recommend this clinic.

This vet is clearly overrun with patients in a way that negatively effects the quality of instruction and care that you and your pet will receive. I picked my puppy up today after her spay and was overwhelmed by the tiny waiting room where they were simply rushing to get through the line of waiting animal parents. I had to ask multiple questions to make sure that I had all of the necessary care instructions that I should have been receiving. In addition, my poor pup peed the second she got handed to me, which means that she probably sat in a kennel for upwards of several hours after her surgery with no break to speak of. While I appreciate the fact that this vet does a lot of work for shelters and makes it easier for dogs to find good homes, I will NEVER be taking another pet there again.

3 stars is a stretch for this place and I could write a novel telling about what sub par treatment we and our dog received from this place. I give them 3 stars because they work with a lot of rescues and DO offer affordable care compared to other places. I think their practice is overrun with patients and they are unable to keep up with the demand. Go here if you dont mind calling repeatedly to follow up on things as they seem unable to do their jobs without reminders. I understand no one is perfect and we had a LOT of patience in the beginning, but after 4 months and multiple chances for them to not screw up a visit, we have been continually disappointed each and every time. Now my patience has run out and we will be looking elsewhere.

My dog needs 2 pills a day, Ive placed the order with the vet and had them misplace the order multiple times when I showed up to pick them up. When I tried to order the pills through an online vendor at a 40% cheaper rate, the vet refused to approve the prescription request with zero apologies or reasoning. Add this to if you have an appointment for 2pm, you may very well be sitting in a cramped waiting room for 2 hours before they move you to finally see the Dr. This can be quite exhausting if you have a strong, excitable dog.

The "Ben Taub" of Animal clinics. A complete dumpster fire. FIND ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE TO THIS PLACE IF YOU HAVE A DROP OF LOVE FOR YOUR PET. They will hurt your pet in this shake-and-bake hell hole. Filthy place, rude incompetent staff, bottom of the line Vet with no concern for anything other than high-volume, profit. ID ZERO STARS IF I COULD GIVE IT. This place should be shut down. You have been warned...

Overall I was extremely satisfied with the Vet and staff, however when it was time to pay I was told they no longer accepted my pet credit card which they knew I had to use in order to get my dogs surgery. I wished they would had checked everything for billing prior to admitting my dog...

The last few times I went here, Ive had issues. From being ignored for 15-30 minutes when trying to check in or out. The last spay we had done there the cat was returned to me soaked in urine. This last time they took the 9:45 appt back at 9:40 instead of me the 9:30.

Without the help of Dr. Dawson and his amazing staff, my doggie BaconBits would of not made it through the stomach virus that he got. Not only are they friendly. They also, treat your pets like, if they were their own. Thank you so much!
