i have used eagle animal hospital for more than 40 years. through those years i showed saint bernards and cocker spaniels. the vets at the clinic were as excited as we were when we came back with ribbons and trophies. they made sure our champs were always in good health and retained their winning spirits. i left kansas city for 27 years, and returned in 2009 with only one cocker. her name, betty cocker, was frightened of vets and had always trembled for the entire visits. however, when we walked into the Eagle Clinic examining room for the first time, doctor matt stooped down,.cupped her head in his hands, and talked to her. she stopped the shaking, and for the rest of her sweet life she was always calm during her regular visits to see matt. i now have a shih tsu, and hes picked doc matt to be his licking post. what i like about the clinic is they treat smartly, and do not perscribe meds or treatments that arent necessary, i.,e, i had always given my pooches vitamins and food supplements. however, dr. matt said the food i was feeding them provided all that any dog needed, and it was not a smart way to spend my dollars on my buddies. its that integrity and advice that i value very much. the assistants, the administrative staff, and vets always say hello to the pets (remembering their names) and sometimes remember to say hello to me. its the pets they accept the responsibility for, so its not important that they remember me first.

Martys Mom
On my initial visit to Eagle I took a tour of the feline boarding area. The facility was clean and the staff were friendly. A week later I returned to pre-register my cat Marty and I definitely felt uncomfortable. I received a few bland hellos (out of habit) from a different set of staff members and I was waited on by a young lady at the front desk who made me even more uncomfortable and everyone else just stared a lot. The energy was just way off. I was told Marty would need one additional vaccination and a stoole sample. Although Eagle did offer to perform the additional services needed, I decided to contact our regular vet Dr. Cupp with Newmark Animal clinic in the northland. After some thought I decided not to board Marty at Eagle. If their customer service etiquette was as welcoming as the facility structure itself then I wouldve been able to conviently board Marty and give Eagle a much higher rating. Ive never had this sort of issue with Dr. Cupp nor his staff but unfortunately I wasnt able to board Marty at Newmark. It would be great if Eagle were open minded to "all" pet owners. Eagle has a superbly updated facility which is why they were given two stars- the facility and cleanliness. However, the staff could definitely use a few new and improved customer service pointers.

I love Eagle Animal Hospital and the staff. Bandit is a 13 year old cocker spaniel and has been a patient ever since I got him. He has food allergies and consistent ear infections and the doctors treat him with care every time we come in to see them to get medicine or his special dog food. Bandit has used their kennel services frequently in his 13 years and they treat him incredibly well. He has become blind and def and I dont feel comfortable taking him anywhere else when I have to leave town. On a few occasions when I have called in for boarding and they were fully booked, they were able to squeeze him in. I have comfort in knowing he will be well cared for in a facility he is familar staying in. Several years ago, Eagle Animal Hospital took in a one year old pomerianan puppy that the owners wanted to put down. Instead of euthanizing her they performed surgery and put her up for adoption. We adopted Princess for my parents and it was a wonderful match. I often say that my parents saved Princess and Princess saved my parents. She was and still is a blessing to them especially now that my father has passed. I know if my parents lived locally they would use and love Eagle Animal Hospital too.

Not that this place needs another raving review, but man do they deserve it!! Our dogs see Dr. Read and our cats see Dr. Silvius, and they are both outstanding. Friendly, patient, honest, and obviously putting the needs of the pet above everything else. They are always completely open with me if I have any questions! When we first adopted our dogs, the youngest puppy turned out to have mange (the shelter was unaware, as they were pretty overrun). Dr. Read caught it early and got our little guy fixed up :-) Debian absolutely loves coming to the vet!! Dr. Silvius sees our 2 not-so-cooperative cats, and is always very patient and gentle with them. He helped us set a weight loss goal for our overweight cat, who is 4 lbs lighter and much healthier! I trust these vets explicitly, and I always feel welcome to have an honest, open dialogue with them, which I dont always feel is true everywhere else. I hope they are my vets forever.

We had utilized the services of several veterinary clinics in the Northland area prior to having a friend recommend Eagle Animal Hospital over 15 years ago. Upon bringing one of our pets here, we were totally captivated and have never strayed. Each doctor is brilliant and they share a common ground each being passionate about the welfare of every pet that enters the building. They listen to client concerns and consult with each other to bring to the table the best possible healing plan and care. Our pets will always be patients at Eagle Animal Hospital because they provide the highest quality care. Cats and dogs bless our household and each dog actually likes to visit Eagle. We would never take our pets to another clinic as that is not even a remote option in our family. This hospital has state of the art equipment to save your pets life.

Our dogs receive all their care here. Medical, grooming and boarding. Theyre wonderful. Were allowed to bring our dogs own food and bedding, When they need their toenails clipped or vaccinations we just call that day and we bring them in. The only time an appointment is needed is for their yearly checkup. The vet sits down on the floor with them for their examinations so they dont get all nervous standing on the table. Currently a major remodeling is happening and we cant wait to see the new facilities. The new facility is completed and looks wonderful. The boarding area is great. Our older dog had a mast cell tumor on her tail last June and Dr. Read had to amputate her tail. His obvious concern and gentle care reassured us. Our dog has recovered fully and we are so grateful for the prompt attention she received.
