I have been a patient of this practice since 2006. It use to be a wonderful practice but it has gone downhill. Lately I hardly ever get to see a doctor. Most of the time I am forced to see a nurse practicitioner. The np are fine but I should be able to see the doctor more often. The maon reason is the office staff. They have become extremely rude and have no compassion. Recently my husband was very ill. We called to make an appointment on Friday and they told us that since he hadnt been in years he would have to wait until Monday because he was considered a new patient. He begged but there was no comply. He then made an appointment for Monday. The pain however was unbearable and had to go to an urgent care center. We spent a lot of $$. The center gave him pain meds and he began to feel better. Then the pain came back. Of course it was a Friday and again the office refused to see him. I explained that this happened the week before and he couldnt wait until Monday. No sympathy at all from them. The lady was extremely RUDE and kept saying we dont see new patients (even though he technically wasnt new). Thankfully he found another nearby family clinic and get in. Found out he had a horrible bacteria in his stomach and he had to take several pills for weeks. I want to go to a facility where they care.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Murphy since 1980. I have followed him from location to location. I will admit it is getting harder to see an actual Doctor instead of a nurse practitioner. However, the NP are very good. And the new doctors being added to the practice seem quite good. Everything changes. But I love the office staff. They have always returned my calls timely. And when a blood test came back to them on a Saturday, they were concerned over the results. They got in touch with me right away to notify me & suggest urgent care. I appreciated their concern & dedication to my well being. Another plus, it their clinic is opened for walk-ins on Saturday mornings. You cant call them on Saturday since their phone is on off hours messaging. And they dont accept new patients on Saturday either. But they also have extended hours during the week. So that helps. And during normal business hours, you can get additional tests run just by walking to the next building. It is a medical complex that is very convenient. Im very happy with UT Bayshore Family Practice. And the added bonus is they are part of the UT group. So if you have other doctors in UT, all you records & results are available to Bayshore. Very nice.

I have been a patient of Dr. Michael Gannon and when he retired I got this uncomfortable feeling it would be hard to find another doctor in the same practice. I have called to make an appointment and I specifically requested to see a doctor who has been taking over his patients. The attendant mentioned I would have to wait until the end of June 2016 (I called on 05/18). I said I was ok with that. Then she said that in fact I would have to wait until the end of July. She "kindly" offered the nurse practitioner instead, which of course I could see right away. It disgusts me to see the state of medicine in this country. I do not like to be manipulated and if I am paying (a lot!) for insurance I will get to see a doctor of my choosing. They lost a patient. I gave them a single star because I could not click POST without doing so. I would remove stars if I could.

Both my parents, my self, and my wife have been going to Dr. Murphy and Dr. Goodine for well over 5 years. However, once they sighned on with UT the front desk staff became rude. One by one each family member dropped off from going to these doctors because of billing issues, rude front desk staff(especially S.Patton- very snarky if you question why charges are so much) or never being able to see an actual doctor. Always ended up having to see a PA. And the PAs dont really seem to care or know what is going on. Why dont they read the patient file before walking into the room? These people are untrustworthy, RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and VERY VERY UNCARING. I would not go to any of these doctors for any reason. VERY UNPROFFESSIONAL STAFF AND P.A.S!!!!!!

I drove 20 miles on a weekend to see the doctor since this was the only place that accepts community health choice. Got there and all three females were talking & laughing when I walked up. I asked if they accepted my insurance and they did. Then then informed me that they didnt take new patients on the weekends and would have to come back Monday. They showed zero empathy, were rude, and very unprofessional. I even called them before to make sure they accepted my insurance and the male on the phone rudely interrupted me and then told me that he was just a staffing agent and could not directly talk to the staff. I will never go to this place again and take your business elsewhere!

Me: doctor can you test me for flu? Doctor: no, you dont have the flu Me: how can you tell? Ive had 101 fever for 14 hours and cant get it to break Doctor: you just dont look like it, u would be dishoveled Me: well can u do a rapid strep throat test? Doctor: no, its viral, let it work itself out Me: (after doing wheelies in the parking lot) I didnt pay $100 Co-pay so I can wait it out! I demand antibiotics!! OK maam calm down
