I have been to this urgent care many time with all 3 of my children and have never had any major complaints until last night. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any pediatric urgent care. While the front staff and nurse were great things went downhill quickly when the NP Connor came in the room to see my son. When discussing my childs illness and symptomatology with him I felt like I was being lectured about the choices I had made to try and help my son prior to bringing him to be seen. The condescending tone and general attitude with which I was being talked down to with was infuriating. After discussing my childs symptoms things only got worse from there! The NP Connor then turned to examine my son who was laying across my lap and verbatim said "sit up your not that sick". Are you kidding me! This is a pediatric facility and your going to talk to an ill 5 year old that way? Then he went to look in my sons ears and my son said ouch and pulled away. (Let me also add that that ear was grossly infected on exam). He put his hand on the back of his neck and said sit up your a big boy when I was trying to help stabilize my sons head so he could get a good view of his tympanic membrane. At this point my blood was boiling!!! Shame on you. You are a grown man treating a child that way. Aside for the fact that this is an adult interaction with a child lets also just say that its in general horrible bedside manner. I was biting my tongue so hard that I was convinced I might bite a hole straight through it so as not to turn into "that crazy mom". At this point I was ready to leave so I didnt even ask for the strep test I felt was needed or steroids to help with the uncontrollable croup sounding cough (my son had petechia on his face from coughing so hard and so long). At that point he left the room to get the prescription for my son and when he returned he had a different tone and seemed to try and be nice. I am sure the nurse informed him that she thought I was medical given the terminology I was using and the fact that I knew exact dosing in milligrams of the medications my son had recieved from me at home. Sorry to say this interaction was to far gone to be influenced by his last ditch efforts to be nice. Its not right for him to treat any child or family this way but in the future it would probably be in his best interest to pay more attention so that he doesnt highly offend and anger a mom who also happens to be an acute care certified pediatric nurse practitioner with 11 years of experience!

Being a business owner and one who has a LOT of clients in the Keller area, I will be sure to tell everyone about my wife and sick daughters visit there. Why on earth would we spend $45 for a Dr. to falsely tell us that our daughter, who had blisters on her throat, had a virus. It wasnt a virus according to Cooks Childrens Medical Center and we thought instead of driving all the way to Cooks we would be treated and cared for alot closer to home. Cooks gave us antibiotics for her blisters that went away pretty quickly after the medicine took affect. My wife called to complain since this was her third and last horrible visit and the nurse even told her that NO MATTER WHAT, THEY DO NOT GIVE OUT ANTIBIOTICS TO CHILDREN THERE. Whats the point if a child is sick???? To have a lousy Dr. tell us shes sick when we already knew that!?!?!? Thinking it couldnt happen a third time she tried her luck one last time and now I will be spreading the word about this unethical and uncompassionate practice. "Practice" is more less what they do there. They dont really do anything else but play Dr I guess. A person could get more knowledge out of a Doc Mcstuffins cartoon than going to this place. "Yeah your 2 year old daughter is sick with blisters on her throat but our suggestion is take her to your primary Dr. when they open because Google cant tell us what it is either." WHAT A JOKE!!! This place is the most un kid friendly Dr office and needs to take the word "kids" out of the title, "Urgent care for kids". The visit before this visit, the Dr. told my wife (who worked and implanted pace makers for St. Jude Medical in Florida for many years) that theres no such thing as Strep C and basically called her a liar to the nurse and to her face. Um, excuse me, she used to work in the E.R. and knows for a fact that Strep C is a real strain and rapid Strep tests will not show positive. It takes a lab to culture it to show positive. Care Now did ALL the tests the right way and even did blood work and what do you know!!!! My wife had STREP C!!!! This place is the worst medical place not just for kids but for adults as well. Ill definitely be giving this place a negative rating thru word of mouth with every client, customer, family member, friend, and strangers!!!

We had just moved to Texas and happened to notice this location while driving around. A few days later, while unpacking my 2 year old happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and had a ceramic vase fall on his head. His head started bleeding from the cut. I calmed him down and drove over to Urgent Care for Kids. The woman at the counter quickly got all the needed information. We waited just a few minutes. The waiting area was very comfortable, with two TVs and lots of toys to keep my son entertained. We were quickly called back where the nurse was kind and good with my son. She even determined which of the "vitals" needed were not important so that we didnt have a total meltdown for something unnecessary. The doctor came in very quickly, was reassuring, and with the nurses help was able to clean and assess the wound, which luckily was a very small cut. Even while my son was throwing a fit while having to hold still to have the wound clean and checked, they remained calm, explained what they were doing and were very gentle with my son. Overall, I wish I hadnt had to go, hope I dont have to go back, but should the need arise again, would eagerly take my son back for their professional care and reassurance. Thank you Urgent Care for Kids for giving this mommy peace of mind.

I was referred here by my insurance company as they are one of the few places who will see children under 3. When we arrived, there was absolutely no other patients to be seen. The person at the front desk was really unfriendly and gave off the vibe of not wanting to help us the second we walked in. When I told her why I was bringing my son in (for a very routine test) the front desk lady went to check with the nurse practitioner who then told us that they do not feel comfortable seeing or treating my son. She did not even take 1 look at my son who was playing quietly in their waiting room before dismissing us. They told us to go to the ER instead. Did I mention that I had even called them before getting in the car to make sure that they would see my son for the reason I was bringing him in?!? Later, after going to Cook childrens urgent care, they immediately told us that there was no problem seeing my son in urgent care. This place couldnt be bothered to give us the time of day after driving a long way in the pouring rain. I left in tears and frustration and would NEVER go back to this urgent care again. I would not recommend them to anyone.
