This morning we signed a form which stated we would be paying $65 to get our puppy a shot, and have her groomed. The only reason we needed the shot was because the vet required it. We would have obtained the shot during the puppys wellness exam at pets mart three days earlier had we known that the vet required it. I went to pick the puppy up and was appalled at a $112 dollar total bill. I initially paid the bill, thinking my wife had requested more services than she had told me about. Upon contacting my wife she was livid that the doctor had charged almost 200% the agreed upon price. She had brought documentation with her when she dropped the puppy off which stated the puppy had just been given a wellness exam three days before. I spoke to one of the veterinarians since their business manager was not available. I tell you what she was a business managers nightmare. In fact I expected her to understand that a first time customer might not be familiar with certain billing charges which are not on the estimate at drop off. I explained that I was a first time customer and that we had been referred by family. This did not phase her, At no time did she apologize to me. In fact only one employee ever apologized. I asked her if this was how she treated all first time employees; she was not sympathetic. She had no sense of customer service. I expressed to her and her staff that at no point did any of them try to keep my business, or my mother in laws business (she brings her dog in regularly as well). The Vet said she flat our refused to return the $39.80 in dispute. I hope that 39.80 is worth losing at least the three customers business theyve lost so far and hopefully many more. I will go out of my way patronize Pets mart in the future rather than pay their exorbitant prices. I would patronize anywhere that isnt heatlhy paws if I were you!

We have 3 dogs, an English Bulldog, an American Bulldog mixed Pitbull and an American Mutt, and it took us a couple of weeks doing our homework to find a veterinarian for our four-legged kids. I have to say that we definitely hit the jackpot with Dr. Casey Cole and the staff of the clinic. Our English bulldog, Winston, doesnt allow us to do anything on him except to bathe him, and he was good with the Vet techs as they were super extra amazing with him. They lay on the floor with him, played with him and it was very natural, its obvious they like their career. Our Pitbull, Pinky, its afraid of everything and the vet techs had so much patient with her, that it made me feel good. Same thing, they lay on the floor with her, allow her to give them kisses, made her feel comfortable! Its nice to see people that truly enjoy their job and profession! Our trouble maker, its our mutt, Bidu, we say that he has "small man syndrome", as he is the smallest of the three but he is feisty and the Dr. Casey Cole treated him like he was her own, plus allow me to calm him down too. She did splendid, not like another Vet that I went a couple of months ago in the area for an emergency visit on a Sunday and started screaming at my dog, the staff and me for not controlling the dog! I only give them 5 starts because thats the max I can give them. In my opinion the clinic price its not bad at all, as they do an amazing job, plus I would pay anything for my furry-babies wellbeing!!!! So if you read this and you are looking for a good vet I do recommend this clinic 100%.

Thanks to these people I am now frantically racing around to find boarding for my two dogs for spring break next week!!!!!! I made the boarding reservations in person on 2/28 when I took my dog in for a visit. And when I called today to check if they could give my dogs their shots while they are there next week they DIDN"T HAVE THEM ON THEIR BOARDING RESERVATION LIST. I have a vacation planned with my family and I am frantic to get other boarding reserved. I had to take my dog in two weeks ago because she was very ill and after a very large bill from this vet and 4 medications later I was concerned about leaving my dog with anyone other than the vet while we go out of town on spring break. That is why I walked up to the front desk to pay my VERY LARGE bill and also make reservations for both dogs to help ease my mind. They gave me pricing, explained the boarding process, and made the reservation with me standing there!!!!!! I am so upset that they didnt save the reservation and when I called today the attitude I recieved was horrible. No apology about losing the reservation, no sympathy, just a nasty attitude and asked if I wanted the waiting list. We leave in less than a week, what good is the waiting list for me? I love the vets at this place but this crap is too much to deal with.

I took our cat there as a new patient. After telling the vet what was wrong, the vet said they wanted to do xrays. I said no, we just want antibiotics for his urinary tract infection, to see if that would clear it up. Well, they took him into another area. In about 10 minutes, the vet tech brings our cat back to us, along with a computerized bill. I asked them to take off some items listed............but the total was still right at $200. All the vet did was look into his mouth (advising us his teeth needed cleaning) and pressed upon his abdomen. So, it was $200 for the "exam", and some antibiotics and pain meds, which I could have bought at Walmart for less than $25.00. Yes, Walmart does pet prescriptions! We did not get full bottles of meds...........NO.........just some small syringes pre-filled with a few doses of medicine. Would not ever go back there. Far too expensive, and I dont like a vet who is pushing you to get every test and procedure he/she can think of. UTI in male cats is extremely common...........and should NOT cost this much.

After being a 3 yr customer, I have decided to leave Healthy Paws. I literally have spent over $3k at this vet and it was not appreciated. I recently spent $330 to have my dog "diagnosed" only to have the vet tell me that they needed another $200 (on a follow up visit) to tell me why my dog isnt cured. My dog has been leaking pee for the last month. The vet provided meds on first visit, but it did not cure the problem. Apparently, i needed to spend another $200 for them to tell me what the problem is. Why was this not "diagnosed" during our initial visit?? I was told I declined a urine tract analysis?? I was there for that very reason that day! All we received were a lot of vague answers. Dr. Willingham used to work there and she was great, but there seems to be a high turnover in staff now. I definitely do not recommend this office these days. Will be going to Southridge Animal Hospital in Denton from now on. Most of the folks there are A&M grads who genuinely care about your pets and family.
