They let my dog die and did not bother to call me..when i took him home to burry him he had urine all over his body. The dr was out sick i was told i couldnt come see him and im devastated. I think about it every day. My poor dog that I love so much died alone..so much guilt..i dare them to send me a bill i will flip do not go there because ots cheap. You get what you pay for It always smells like piss too. If i had been told the doctor was ill and my dog would be left alone for two days, i would not have left him to be alone there and die alone! Im so angry at myself, the second i was told i couldnt visit my dog, i should have got him outta there. I will live with the guilt forever. Yes hes cheap for a reason!! I love my dog so much ...the ony reason i found out he died is because on day two before work i stopped in to check on him. I was taken to the room at the end of the hall. The dr came in and said we lost her. Well my dog Riley was a male dog! I screamed why didnt anyone call me!! I see that they have killed 3 other dogs by leaving them unattended or botched surgery based on other reviews! How can this even happen..i told him he had been excessively thirsty..which After i looked into it is a sign of liver disease. He put him on antibiotics the week prior and send me home. He should have done blood work then and maybe my Riley would be here now. For those of you who have had good luck with them, i am happy for you because I wouldnt wish this pain deep into my soul on anyone..be aware be very aware..i am only 1 of 3 others that they have done this too. Dont take it lightly..i am heartbroken

Well if I could choose zero stars I would! My aunt and family had a very sweet pit bull that they had for over 11 years was a sweetheart. Im going to get to the point here, she was brought in 4 times this month for the doctor to just pretty much play a guessing game on this sweet dog, two shots here two more shots there, over 6 prescriptions. And Monday was told he was going to keep the dog for 6 hours due to what what the doctor "thought " was a spider bite three times then was told it was a hematoma so my family left the dog after a couple of hours my aunt called to see if her dog was ready she was told her dog wasnt awake yet, then the dog was picked up later that afternoon and took her home, then later that afternoon she started throwing up so the doctor gave some more medication and she never was her self took her back yesterday got 2 more shots and more medicine. My aunt was up with her dog all night throwing up blood and pooping blood so then we rushed her to a ER vet clinic soon has we got there she was going into cardiac arrest, they rushed her to the back while we remained in tears and the doctor came out and said "We can try to do what we can" but that she had been bleeding internally for about A MONTH so the family had to make the choice to put there sweet baby girl to sleep and they were very caring and brought the dog in with us in a room where she lied on the floor suffering until the doctor put her to sleep! So thats my review if you want your dog or whatever you may have to LIVE PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU GO HERE OR GO BACK. !!!

Dr. Rook is the best vet we have ever used and we have had many! For many years he has taken care of our many pets: dogs, cats, and horses. His love and compassion for animals is so evident in his care for them. Sadly, that isnt always the case with some vets. He is tenderhearted and empathizes with you. Dr. Rook is very honest and fair. He always gives his best advise while at the same time trying to keep your bill reasonable. We NEVER worry that he is out to jack the bill up with unnecessary procedures or medications. He has a way with animals that keeps them relaxed. He is the only vet that we have used that didnt dope up our horses to float their teeth and yet the horses did just fine and stayed fairly calm and curious with it all, which we thought was remarkable. But, Im sure that has a lot to do with the temperament of the horse as well. Sadly, after we moved 2 hours away we couldnt keep using Dr. Rook although we still did a time or two. Over the years, we have referred a few different friends to him who lived quite far away. They all just loved him too, so much that one of them would drive 30 minutes one way and another drove over an hour one way just so they could have the peace of mind knowing their pets were in his careful, tender loving care. He is just that great and trustworthy! We miss him and his great care so much and we will never forget him or his friendly and helpfully staff. May God Bless him.

if I could give negative stars I would! I took my dog in Monday they kept her over night because they "think" she has distemper. After calling over 20 times on Tuesday someone finally answered but they couldnt even confirm wether or not she had distemper (to lazy, to ill equipped or to busy to handle a simple test) said she would have to stay till Friday (this whole time this stupid receptionist didnt think telling me theyd be closed Wednesday was information I should know) Wednesday I called over 40 times between 8-930 am NO ANSWER. When I was finally able to get over there I see theyve been closed since 9am because the dr is out of town! (So they just ignored my calls from 8-9) I pulled up just as this girl was trying to leave & I asked why didnt anyone tell me? Ive been calling since 8am! I processed to ask for my dog (assuming this human had a brain and can just give her to me with out "adult supervision") she said only the dr can release dogs! Even thou she released dogs this morning from 8-9! So.... no one answers the phone!! The wait time is always 1-2 hrs No one stays with the dogs who are sick when they are "unexpectedly closed" (my sweet loving dog now has to spend 24 more hrs alone! It breaks my heart!) The receptionist is rude & doesnt care I will NEVER go back and DO NOT recommend them to anyone!

When we first moved to Texas (Midlothian), I decided it best to check out what kind of vet Dr. Rook was by bringing our guinea pigs in to have their nails cut. Rook had been outside with a goat just before us. He came in, and picked up Penny the Pig, examined her little feet and said, "Huh. Whaddya know. They only have three toes!" I had a moment of panic and was trying to decide how to grab the pig from his hands and run ... then he winked at my daughter and said, "Just kidding," and proceeded to be so gentle and loving to the little guinea. For more than a decade, he has taken care of our cats, dogs, goats, horses, and yes ... guinea pigs. He is an extraordinary doctor who can care for any animal, any size with compassion and gentleness. All around - best there is.
