My second time getting glasses and I was thinking the issues around getting glasses was a fluke. Turns out it was not. Second time, again they messed it up and had to reorder it. Then I try them on again and it turns out the prescription itself was wrong. I said just use my existing one and go with that. Apparently they HAVE to re-exam you. Well unfortunately I have a very busy schedule and I just could not get another time anytime soon. They said they would let me know. Then they leave a voice mail saying nope, I had to do the appointment. I go back in again to get my money back and they said... well we will re-ask the doctor. But if they re-ordered the glasses then they would not do any more exchanges. I was not liking that response as so far they have yet to do it right so I am not going to be responsible for their mistake... again. Finally after 6 months I go to get my money back and then ask to re-instate my insurance. Well they said int eh store they would by today... but when I left or as I was leaving the manager sent me an email saying she would definitely not do that. You sign this waiver that says no refundsexchanges. So they can screw up and charge you but if you want your money back for services or a product that you did not get... too bad. I am surprised by the continued service they get as they are mostly rude and just not nice there. I "put up with it" initially thinking, oh it will get better once they know me as a customer. Nope. So many little things along the way. I mean kinda silly stuff, as in when I was there about 3 times ago getting fitted for the glasses that I would never get but pay for... I asked them to clean my existing glasses. Well a little put off byt eh request but they cam back worse than when I gave them. I mean really? So I drove home in a haze and then cleaned them myself. And these people know glasses? Withe the options you have around the area, this one should not make your list.

McKinney Eyeworks was able to help make new glasses for me last year after I had a bad experience at Eldorado Vision & Optical. This year, I decided to schedule an eye appointment with McKinney Eyeworks again. I am very near sighted, so I also wear contacts. I thought about getting another pair of glasses, but VSP only pays for this every 2 years. My glasses were still in good shape from last year, and I primarily wear contacts most of the time. They were able to get my contacts ordered, and they were ready in a couple of days. I will most likely go there next year to get new glasses and contacts. The staff was very professional and helpful. They are able to do their own glasses in the lab, so you dont have to wait 2 weeks like most places. My prescription is very strong, and they were able to complete my glasses in 1 day. That has never happened in all the years I have worn glasses. (I usually wait at least 2 weeks).

GOOGLE REVIEWS ARE MISTAKEN-I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews on Google but luckily I went ahead and gave McKinney Eye Works a chance. When I arrived I was a bit late and rather than cancelling my appointment, they went ahead and saw me. When I got there I just filled out some paperwork (which is available online but I didnt bring it in) and then was seen shortly after. Dr. Woerz was great! He answered all my questions and even took time to educate me a bit on how the eye works. Then I spent about 2 hours picking out glasses. Cassie was great!! She had so much patience with me!! The other girls were nice but Cassie well she went over and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase. I like the fact they are open every other Saturday because I work 8:30-5:30 Monday through Friday. Overall, I enjoyed my experience with McKinney eyeworks and I totally disagree with the other reviews.

Our family has been going to Dr. Woerz for almost twelve years now. We would never dream of going anywhere else - ever. Dr. Woerz is wonderful, patient, attentive and kind. His staff is exceptional, every one of them. In all of the years going there, I have never had a negative experience, Ive never had a staff member be rude. I find Cassie, Jacqueline, Melissa and Aaron kind, caring and always, always, always professional and nice. We love Dr. Woerz and his amazing staff.

- They require me to do all the paperwork with my insurance company. - They canceled my first appointment and made me reschedule after I already took the day off work. They are nice people and did a good job but the insurance/paperwork thing is enough to make me look for another Optometrist. Driving the extra 10 miles to my old optometrist(I moved) is less of a hassle then collecting receipts and filing insurance paperwork.

We love the place and have been going there for 2 years. I convinced my wife to come try out this place with Dr. Woerz. However, she had to meet a different doctor and the staff could not explain why. The system did show Dr. Woerz. Besides that, the "fitting fee" for contact lenses is $100 compared to $60 at other places. Why couldnt we simply disclose the extra fee in the office?
