On December 12, 2008, I found a stray kitten I brought the kitten in to see a vetinarian to ensure that the kitten was in good enough health to be in my Home with three dogs and two other cats. When I went to the Westside Vetinary Hospital Dr. Ron Ulfohn saw me. I informed him that the kitten was a stray and I wanted to see if she had anything that my other animals may catch. He looked her over and said that for a stray she was in good health, the only thing he said he found was ear mites, which would be taken care of with some medication that he administered there. I brought the kitten home and left it to roam free in the house with the rest of my animals. A few days later, I noticed that she scratched an awful lot and that the rest of the animals were scratching more than usual. Thinking it may be fleas, I spent the money to treat the animals and clean the house to rid it of a possible flea infestation. I also noticed some red spots on myself and assumed that they were biting me too. On December 27, 2008, I was feeding the kitten and saw that her face had some missing hair and that it was red as if she had been scratching it all night. I called and made and appointment with vet again at Westside. This time I was seen by Dr. Tom Hofstetter he looked at the kitten and did a skin scrape, he then came back and told me that the kitten had mange. I was in shock by the news especially since I had just been in there offices 15 days prior and was never told about this condition. I took the kitten home and isolated her as I was recommended. When I called my Husband to tell him the news, he was furious. There offices were already closed so we were unable to contact them in regards to the rest of my animals. December 28, 2008,My husband and I were diagnosed by our Doctor with Scabies On December 29, 2008, My Husband called the Westside Vetinary clinic to speak with someone in regards to this outbreak in our home that was Dr. Ulfohns fault. He spoke with Dr. Hofstetter who explained that he would have to speak with another Doctor and call him back. My husband was not given a call back until the mid afternoon. Among all of this, it disturbs me that this was not taken care by Dr. Hofstetter as soon as he hung up with my husband. Not only were all of our animals suffering from this mite, but also my husband and I were uncomfortable since we now were diagnosed with Scabies. The only thing this office could give us for our trouble was a twenty-dollar bottle of Dip to bathe our dogs in. I have called other Vetinarians clinics and spoke with several Doctors there are so many other ways to treat Mange that are more effective and faster. For the money, I have spent with the office I feel that with the situation they should have given us a little more than a dip that takes some time to work. I am a lover of the show Animal Cops Houston, when they bring in those animals they check for everything. Dr Ulfohn should have checked for everything considering that I told him that the kitten was a stray.

Love this place! Especially Dr. Campbell and Dr. Bachynsky! Ive been taking my dogs there since I moved to Pearland almost 3 years ago and have always loved it. Theyre the cheapest in the area with the best quality. :) They always take great care of my babies, and even my elderly dog(11yrs in 3 days) loves them. He used to be snappy with vets and now he isnt, and enjoys the love they give him. They also take great care of my other two dogs who are a Pit Bull and a Lab/Pit mix. They have also showed me how to do some things on my own at home that I can do and "trained" me on them so I can save some money and do it myself safely. VERY friendly and nice. And if I need medicine they will often call it in for me without me having to make an appointment to go get it. They obviously love dogs and are just great people. Even the techs and the people at the front are all lovely and awesome people. They send me reminders for shots, send me e-cards on their birthdays, and are just awesome. I recommend them to EVERYONE I know. The only bad thing I can say is to NOT go to Dr. Hofstetter. I take my all 3 of my dogs health seriously and I went in once and he completely wrote off everything I had to say and all of my complaints, and on top of that, when he told he me he was going to go back and give my dog a shot for a skin infection, he told me one shot, and then I came out with another one that he didnt tell me about, I didnt find out until I saw my bill. My dog was starting to get fatty tumors and had about 5 growing on him, one in a bad part of his body and he had gotten it before and had it removed at a place in League City where it had come out to be the size of an apple. So when it started to come back and start to get larger I went in to talk about having it and some others removed and he just laughed at me. Low and behold, a month later it had doubled in size and he was starting to limp because of its placement and affecting his front leg and he kept falling over all of the time because of where it was and its side. I went in and spoke to another vet(Dr. B) who saw my concerns and a week later he had his surgery to get it and a few other small ones removed.I have learned about dog health a lot over the years, I work with dogs, and I didnt appreciate being laughed at and then charged for a $30 shot or an anal glad expression at $20 that were not cleared with me first. Especially since I am trained in anal gland expression and do that on my own every other week during bath time and I didnt need it done there. I study animal behavior so I can get a degree as a dog behaviorist after getting my BA in Behavioral Science. So like I said, I did not appreciate being laughed at and brushed off and told I was overreacting and being silly. EVERYONE ELSE THERE IS AMAZING

RARE. This is the only real word to describe my multiple experiences at this place. On several occasions my dogs have been treated with maximum care and kindness. They even took the time to explain to me what was going on and checked other things to rule out certain possibilities. Even better, they only billed me for the actual problem on my dog, they didnt try to milk me for the less serious problems like some vets. They give you price breakdowns and if possible discuss multiple treatment options that may better suit your finances. WOW! These people not only care about helping and saving animal lives, they also realize that not everyone can afford certain treatments. They went the extra mile to make me feel like I was a client of 20 years, and it had only been my first visit. I have been to several clinics as a pet owner, and this one by far has surpassed all my expectations. From the moment I walked into the door, to the last goodbye, I was greeted with a smile and shown tremendous respect. The staff there was incredibly knowledgable and passionate about their jobs. They even remembered my dogs names when we returned for another visit. I love my dogs and I know when I bring them there they are in the best hands in the area. If you live in this area I DEFINITELY SUGGEST THIS VET! OUR PETS LOVE US UNCONDITIONALLY, THEY DESERVE A VET WHO WILL RETURN THAT LOVE LIKE IT WAS US TAKING CARE OF THEM! THAT IS WHAT WESTSIDE IS ALL ABOUT! FROM THE FRONT DESK, KENNLE TECHS, VET TECHS, AND THE DOCTORS THEMSELVES, WESTSIDE IS A CLASS ACT ALL AROUND! GO THERE!
