First Choice Emergency Richardson was not my destination when I set out to seek emergency care on a Friday night but THANKFULLY my original destination closed promptly at 10:00 P.M. thus leaving me searching for a 24 hr "emergency room" that was not connected to a hospital. First Choice Emergency Richardson was where I ended up at and I could not have accidentally ended up in a better place. Starting with the online check-in, which was very quick an easy, all the way through to my check out I could not have imagined better care. I checked in with what I thought was "just" a kidney infection and immediately I was given empathetic, understanding, and thorough care. The staff was kind. prompt, and WELL educated. My nurse Carol was a gift from God! She was no-nonsense, empathetic, attentive beyond expectations, kind, funny, and one of the smartest, quickest thinking nurses I have ever been under the care of (which has been quite a few). My condition turned out to be more severe than I had originally anticipated, however my doctor, Dr. Wilkinsen, (forgive me if I misspelled the name) was on top of my condition immediately. Thankfully he prescribed the exact medications that I needed and helped me avoid being admitted for more extensive treatment in a hospital. (And he lent me his phone charger while I was there so my phone wouldnt die after I left. I have never had a Doctor be that relatable and friendly, he was amazing in every way!) First Choice Emergency Richardson not only took exquisite care of me while I was there but I also received 3 or 4 follow up calls from the doctors to make sure that I did not require further treatment and that my recovery was on track. I will never go to another "clinic" for emergency care again. Thank you to all of you who helped me heal! I am truly grateful! Januari P.S. 4 days later my father had an accident and needed emergency care and I sent him to the First Choice Emergency in Cedar Hill and they took amazing care of hime as well.

I would not return here unless I had no other choice. I took my mother here after she got mugged and beaten for a couple of reasons: 1) urgent cares were closed as it was about 10:30PM, 2) the main concern was brain bleeding due to a concussion so she needed the scanning equipment available here that an urgent care wouldnt have had. That said, my complaint is unrelated to the care. The care was fine. My issue is with the unethical pricing/billing practices. Because my mother does not have medical insurance I inquired up front via phone about how she would be charged and stated that she did not have health insurance. I was told on the phone that she would be looked at and that we would be quoted a price for treatment and that point could either pay or be on our way. That is exactly what happened. I took her to this location, she was looked at, we received a verbal quote, payment was made, she was treated, and we left. I would say we were there no more than an hour. A month later she receives a bill in the mail for almost an additional $3,000 in addition to the $923 she had already paid that day. At no point before or during treatment were we told there would be any additional charges coming our way. We did the best we could in a bad situation to assess what the charges would be up front (given that payment would be made 100% out of pocket) only to be blindsided later by additional charges. Its practices like this that give healthcare a bad name.

I am a physician, so needless to say I have a unique, and unfortunately, an often very jaded and rather dim view of medical care delivery in this country. I have been blessed with very good health for my 58 years, and although I have been in many ERs over the last 35 years of practice as a consulting physician, I have never been in one as a patient. To say I was impressed with the care I received would be a gross understatement. From the moment I entered I was treated promptly, kindly, and with respect. The staff were courteous, very professional, and most efficient. They explained everything that they were going to do (draw blood, start an IV, get a chest x-ray, give me IV fluids, etc.) and did so with a smile. Dr. Wilkinson was just plain awesome--thats really the only word I have for his knowledge, demeanor, and the fact that everything he said and did was a reflection of the fact that he actually cared. I left several hours later, feeling much, much better. I cannot possibly imagine a better experience. Thank you FCER Richardson. You are what health care delivery in our country is supposed to be. There are many health care systems here in Dallas and around the country that could benefit greatly by sending a few representatives to spend a day with you to see what safe, timely, efficient, effective, patient-centered care is really like. Bravo.

I came here at around 8AM on a tuesday. After an initial visit to a hospital ER for an ankle break, I was in a tremendous amount of pain. The prescription provided by the hospital was not doing the job. Here, I was seen about 3 minutes after I walked (hobbled) into the door. They took my vitals and I saw Dr. Wilkinson a few minutes later. He was so helpful and kind. He told me exactly what the problem was, why I was in so much pain, and gave me a couple of injections plus a new prescription to help with said pain. He really cared and wanted me to feel better. He spent a lot of time with me and came to check on me several times. Dr. Wilkinson gave me his card and let me know to call if I needed anything, and also referred me to an orthopedic doctor nearby. The technician took me back for another x-ray (very quick) and was friendly, too. The only waiting around was for the x-rays to be processed, which took less than 10 minutes. My only complaint was that the nurse didnt bring me a wheelchair until I walked about 50 feet on my crutches and was practically already at the exam room door. But Im very glad I came here, and would definitely go again. They even gave me a little goodie bag with pamphlets, info, a pen, a magnet, et c.

I was bitten by a Chihuahua in my friends house. It was nothing serious, but I want to have the wound checked by a doctor anyway. I first went to the universitys health center, where they referred me to First Choice Richardson. As I have not received my insurance card at that time, I was a bit worried about the cost. I was told the starting price to see a doctor is $175. After filled in all the paper word, I was sent in to see a doctor right away. The doc asked me several questions and examined the wound, and told me to wash it with soap and I will be fine. That eased my anxiety and that all I want. At the time of checking out, I asked about how to pay the bills. They told me that there will be NO bills, because I have not received any treatment. I could not believe that. The front desk girl and 2 other nurses (sorry I could not remember your names) are very nice and caring, too. It has been more than a month from the time I visited them. And today I got a card from them saying "hope you feel better from you recent dog bite", signed by all the nurses. I was really surprised and happy. I would recommend this place. This will be definitely my first choice just in case of emergency.
