Very unhappy, if someone had explained to us when they neuter the dogs, they would only be removing his testicles and leaving the scrotum, I would not have taken him. He is a large (115 lbs) beautiful dog that now has an empty testicle sack hanging from his body. Now we have to decide if we want to go through the entire procedure again to remove the excess skin becuase it looks terrible. When I asked the gentleman at the desk about the skin being left he said it was a different procedure to have that removed. Why didnt they explain this from the beginning! When we were waiting for them to get our dog, we had to listen to one of the staff members reprimand her team (cussing and yelling) for not washing the feces off of the animals before returning them to the owners. Thats terrible they would leave animals like this in the first place. Finally, the day after his surgery I found a few flees (its freezing outside and flees usually arent an issue during winter months), now I am having to deal with this as well. The staff was friendly, the wait wasnt terrible, but overall Im upset about how they left my dog and the lack of professionalism.

To save you guys the trouble of waiting 2 hours just to have them not take your pet in 1. Make sure your dog or cat is hydrated by checking their gums to see if they are bright pink (kinda dark), If pale pink they will not take them in. 2. If they are under weight they will not take them in. 3. If they have more than 13 ticks or fleas they will not take them in. 4. When scheduling online, save yourself the trouble of paperwork by printing them before hand its on their website and having it ready. Saves a lot of time! 5. Get there early because they do have lines and the place is packed by 6:40-6:50AM 6. Pick up time is also an hour wait, be patient they are going as fast as they can. The staff is very friendly and caring other than the wait (which is expected because for a small staff they work really hard to make sure everyone is taken care of) I have no complains about the place. The spay was free but I paid for the e-collar and pain meds she also needed shots. Still for all of that being $35 I was so happy. I have one dog left to neuter and I will definitely be bringing him here. :)

There is a small staff here at spaysa but that doesnt stop them from getting the job done. Yes it may take an hour to get your paperwork in, there are usually only three receptionist. It may also take awhile to get your pet taken in but there are also only three rooms available for the technicians. If your animal is "to scared" it is not a excuse to not see your animal. It is a safety concern not only for the staff but for your pet. If your pet is afraid, or even just a little too shy it may try to bite someone. If your pet bites someone not only will your pet be turned away from care but you and your pet will have to see animal care services. The staff works very hard every day to help as many animals as they can. So if you really truly want affordable shots, cheap or free spay and neuter than spaysa is the place. And Yes you will need some patience along with time out of your day.

if people dont want to wait in a very long line then they should print their paper out and fill it out before they arrive there so that when they are the first in line they will be able to give them the paper about their animal so that they can be taken care of right away instead of the person giving you the paper then you have to go all the way in the back of the line and fill it out then go back up then give it to them thats what takes forever..... but if you are prepared then print your paper out first then take it with you when you take your animal to get their surgery so that youre in and out within 30 minutes. They also send the link for you to fill out the paper in your email on the bottom people have to be smart enough just to look at the whole email.. Over all a great experience.

The one experience said I had with this this facility left me in tears. I took in my cat that I had found 8 months prior and loved... she was my rescue kitten. I took her in for a basic spay and shots . But instead of getting a phone call to pick her up when it was over they told me she had died on the table. they said that it happens to 1 in approximately every 5000 animals ...but I dont understand because I have never ever ever heard of it happening before. when I spoke to them and ask them if I would at least get a refund so that I could bury her they said no. They kept my money but did offer to give me the remains of my cat back after her autopsy . Since then I am afraid to take any other animal in .

I brought two dogs here on different occasions. One dog was fine but the pickup and dropoff times are so variable. I arrived at six thirty and my dog wasnt taken until seven thirty. My other dog is skittish around new people and places. After waiting an hour, my dog was taken to the back and just after a few minutes i was called back there and was told the spay couldnt be done because my dog was "too scared". The cost is great but dont go here if you dont want to wait an hour for drop off and pickup and definitely dont go here if your pet is skittish or aggressive as they have to wait in a lobby full of dogs for an hour!

Horrible experience got there at 730 with my dog to check in because I had an appointment and they couldnt take me because they were full for the morning. The lady behind me was also turned away and she also had an appointment! What was the point of having an appointment? This place is a joke. Im 6 months pregnant and have 2 young children we drove for an hour in San Antonio traffic to get there on time! BEWARE before making an appointment!

" Improving the lives of dogs and cats" ? Seriously ? BEWARE ! These sadistic butchers will TERMINATE the life of your pet. Got their grisly hands on my wifes extremely healthy kitten and promptly executed him. Without so much as even an apology. And then keep the charges for body disposal . If you value your pet, my advice is to avoid this slaughterhouse at all costs.
