I never take the time to write reviews, but Im so annoyed and angry. My family and I have been customers of this place for the last 2, maybe 3, years. I find Dr. Wood to be pleasant and has really helped me in my pursuit to clear up an existing issue. Why the 1 star review? No appreciation for me, a soon-to-be FORMER customer. I had an eye exam a few weeks ago and opted to use my insurance benefits for contacts instead of glasses. I returned this week for a minor procedure. After performing the procedure on only one eye, it was discovered that it couldnt be completed on the other because they didnt have what was needed. I was understanding, didnt fuss about it or complain and agreed to come back when they had what they needed. I decided to order an affordable pair of glasses online and went in today to get my PD measurement. It takes less than 30 seconds for them to do this. They insisted on requiring me to pay $20!?! They said the online retailer would probably reimburseme me. Even after I told them that this wasnt the case for the website I chose they still insisted on $20. No way! Not when other places will give me my PD for FREE! Terrible customer service in my opinion. Its not a lot of money, but thats not how a repeat customer should be treated. Luckily I hadnt ordered my contacts from them yet because I will be taking my business elsewhere.

TL;DR: Make an appt. now. No more awkwardly silent eye exams. Had an outstanding experience here this weekend. If youve ever seen the Brian Regan bit about going to the optometrist, youll know what my expectations were. Ive worn glasses since I was in 3rd grade (Im now 30) and dread going to the optometrist. I can now say that the bar has been raised tremendously. I cant imagine going anywhere other than Bandera Vision Source in the future. The staff were super friendly and helpful, my doctor, Rebecca Williams, was so funny and kind and honest, I would happily go back tomorrow if need be. If I had to give any sort of negative portion, it would be their selection of frames, but then again I am very picky. I already had in my head that I wanted rimless frames and I think I saw one pair in their office for over $300. That being said, they had a ton of frames for kids, so if youre looking for childrens specs, I would definitely recommend checking them out. They also seemed to have more frames for women than men, but maybe that was just my impression--my eyes were dilated at the time I was looking, so I suppose you can take that with a grain of salt.

I had a eye injury caused by my 2yr old about 9 or so months ago. I HAVE TO SAY Dr.Wood has definitely set the bar extremely high with his patient care and consideration of many things we dont think to ask while we are being examined. I am a pediatric nurse and communication with patient is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT....when i leave the office i know what is going with my eye, what do i do if i happens again?, Dr. WOOD has saved me at least on 2-3 Saturdays when injury to my eye reoccurs as we discussed it could happen again. Unfortunately for other opthamologist/or even eye surgeons i definitely feel and know Dr. Wood is AWESOME with being considerate for patient care which goes ALONG with patent financial responsibility. Many patient dont talk about cost of care with doctors and Dr. Wood explained of my procedures that could be done in operating room verse in clinic...the difference ONLY COST .That being said, Dr. Wood is very great opthamologist and truly does care for All of his patients. THANK U SO MUCH TO Dr. Wood and staff and Wood Vision Source

I can highly recommend Bandera Vision Source for eyecare. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the office, while small, is more than adequate with a comfortable waiting area. The best "feature" though are the Doctors. My daughter saw Dr. Williams and my son and I saw Dr. Singleton. The best eye Dr. experience weve ever had...they are personable, friendly, and very professional. The eye map technology is awesome...Dr. Singleton explained our results in detail and I am very happy with the care we received. The eye map test is an additional $35, but you dont have to have your eyes dilated. The technicians are excellent and dont try to "sell" frames. My son and I used our old frames for our new prescription...will take a week and a half to get them back, which is a normal turnaround. My daughter wears contacts, and she is happy with the options she was given. All in all, a very professional practice. We will be making this our eye care Dr. office for the future.

At first this place seemed really good, I was honestly looking forward to going there and glad to find them because they had good reviews on here. Plus Im not the type to just switch from place to place, so if I find a good one, Ill stick to it. Where it started nose diving was when they said my glasses would be ready on a Wednesday and werent ready until Friday. When they were ready, they had damage that wasnt previously on there. I call back and get a spill about how since I brought the frames in and didnt purchase from them there they cant guarantee the condition of them. I wanted to hang up on Ruben as he was telling me this but I didnt. After he was done I juts said, "Okay, I guess just have a good day them", to which I just hear the phone hang up. So way to go Ruben, you hung up on what would have been a good long time customer. Needless to say I will be going else where for my vision needs.

I bought my glasses less than 6 months ago and they already broke. I took them in before X-mas and was told it would take a little longer because of the holidays and as of yet, I havent heard from them. I bought these glasses under an insurance program through my employer and I paid close to $350. I asked why so much and was told the glasses were valued over $900 without the insurance. Is this the going rate for glasses now? Pretty pricey glasses to break within a few months. Its been over 13 business days and thank goodness I have an extra pair. What would I do if I didnt have that spare pair?

When I had to take my 4 year old to the eye doctor I cringed. Where do I take him? Called several places and the minimum age was 5. I called Bandera Vision Source and they said they do see 4 year olds. The receptionist was very nice and friendly over the phone. However, I wondered about the actual visit. My son is all over the place and doesnt sit still for very long. Well Dr. Wood was so great! He was extremely patient with my son and just handles children beautifully. Blew me way. Thank you so much. I will definitely be returning and will definitely be recommending Bandera Vision Source!

I was asked to write a review about my experience and I am happy to do it! I do not post reviews as a rule, but I have to tell you about Dr. Wood and his staff! I have told all my friends and neighbors. I cannot get my husband to go to any Dr. , He went with me to get his eyes checked and needed glasses for the first time! OH NO! But, he really liked Dr. Wood and his staff.. He even told his co-workers about his glasses and Dr.Wood. They made us feel like we were all old friends. Hats Off To Dr. Wood and his staff! Thank you for making our whole life better. We can see!
