I wish I could transplant the office staff to my new dentist because they are truly gems. This is also the best looking and most comfortable dental office I have ever been to, and enjoyed my first experience overall. The hygienist was very kind and gentle. Unfortunately, they have to lie to customers and do unnecessary, painful procedures to pay for their nice office. I was told I had four cavities (including one in the front, which you can imagine would cause great concern). I was also told that the staining on the top of my molars was indication of the cavities (which I thought a bit strange-- I have never heard that before). They were also very confused about an existing filling. They kept telling me there was one on the opposite side. I originally came in because my gums were drooping due to pregnancy. I was worried that one tooth was becoming too exposed, but the dentist said it was no big deal and sent me home with an expensive mouth wash, but not before scheduling EXTENSIVE dental work for right after my delivery date. Then I received a phone call stating that they needed an extra payment because my insurance was suddenly not "in network", so I told them to cancel my future work that I would need to go to an "in network" dentist. Fast forward several months after my pregnancy, my gums are falling off my teeth, and I go in to an "in network" dentist. I was told by the other dentist that I have ZERO cavities but I now need an expensive and painful graft for my gums to save my teeth. So not only did Woodlands Family Dental lie to me about the cavities, but they did not properly address the very serious issue with my gums. To make matters worse, then they continued to call me about my cancelled fillings appointment as if I never cancelled it, and I have asked to be removed from their emails numerous times to no avail. I have to say, I am very disatisfied and feel cheated by this dental office. I hope they will choose a more honest route to paying for their beautiful office in the future. GET A SECOND OPINION before you do any dental work here, as they are clearly dishonest. No one likes to have dental work done, especially when its completely unnecessary.

This review is under my husbands name as we share the same email however I wanted to take a moment to commend Woodlands Family Dental. I have worked here for the last five years and I can tell you honestly we have never advised a patient during that time they needed treatment that was not necessary. It is our responsibility to educate our patients and inform them of our clinical findings in their mouth. It can be a hard conversation to tell a patient they have a cavity, as most patients do not want to hear this news. We believe in treating early decay to be more conservative and remove as little tooth structure as possible. There are some cases where early decay can be reversed without "drilling". We offer a product called MI paste that has been known to reverse very early stages of cavities. We can not always offer this as once a cavity is past the enamel layer it can not be reversed and will need further treatment. Going back to treating cavities early- If you remove the decay early you remove very little tooth structure and get the best long term results. Once the cavity is large you have to remove more tooth structure causing the tooth to weaken and asking filling material to take on more force which can result in more wear/tear of tooth over time. If a cavity is too large it may require a crown and if it reaches the nerve a root canal may be necessary. These procedures are more involved and cost much more! We want to prevent this from happening so we advise our patients of these issues and our concerns. We care about our patients and their health! I also want you to know we are out of Network for all Insurances but to accept most. We can explain this more and why we choose to be out of network please fill free to ask us. In closing Im proud to work for this office and believe in what we stand for and the care we provide. - Lucas

I am done with them after 7 years of faithful customer experience(theyre very nice ppl),but...they grew too big and money hungry for me. The fancy tvs and posh is what you pay for,and it was ok when it was just Dr.Murphy. But I recommened my mother due to serious tooth pain...they gave her an xray and then sat her down to say...you need root canal surgery for $8000. My parents couldnt afford it. Well I didnt believe this,b/c I felt she could get septicemia (an infection that could kill her)..they didnt even explain or show the xray to her...My mother went through the pain for weeks as they were more concerned about money than her health. And finally,my mother couldnt take the pain and got an xray elsewhere...they said," You have a cracked tooth and infection." Tomorrow she is getting the emergency surgery she needs to avoid a life threatening condition from the infection(septicemia) in the cracked tooth. Also my last cleaning cost me...$122! I will never go back to the money hungry dental office where eye appeal and niceties come before a persons health. Rich Woodlands people can stay..but I am hard working middle class and I will go elsewhere.

My husband & I have been patients at Woodlands Family Dental for several years now and we can easily say that WFD offers the very best patient comfort care and customer service weve ever experienced from any medical office ever! Several months ago my hubby developed a very bad tooth infection & put off going to get it checked out. Sadly it had to be removed, but Dr. Murphey did a great job on the implant. WFD uses the latest in technology and can offer lots of extras for specific needs. Our favorite new gadget is the "Silent Night" snore guards which are very simple, comfortable devices which help us sleep so much better at night. We were both fitted with these and we can honestly say that they have improved our lives on a daily basis. Were so grateful for this added blessing! Woodlands Family Dental is unmatched in our book!

So first i would like to say that going to the dentist is not one of my favorite things to do. I was looking for a new dentist in the Spring/Woodlands/Conroe area and a friend recommended The Woodlands Family Dental. From the moment I first called the staff was extremely helpful. When I arrived I felt welcomed as soon as i walked through the door by the friendly staff and warm atmosphere. The dental assistant that worked with me throughout the visit was the sweetest and most informed person i have experienced. At other offices i have been to when i ask a question i get a very typical response of "the doctor will answer that" but not here. Not only was the staff helpful but the communication between them and the doctors was outstanding. I never had to repeat myself. I would highly recommend The Woodlands Family Dental to everyone i know!
