I WILL NOT GO BACK TO MY FAMILY VET EVER!!! I took my dog in 2 1/2 weeks ago, I told them that she had loose stool, she was lethargic, and she wasnt eating normally. When I got there, they asked me if she was spayed, I said no, and they immediately assumed that maybe she had some sort of vaginal infection and this was the cause of her problems, even though there were no signs of an infection, and they said she seemed fine, they asked me to check her pee that evening and if her pee seemed abnormal to bring her in for some blood work, and sent me on my way. Her pee that evening was normal, so I did not take her back in for blood work. Well today (2 1/2 weeks later), my dog vomited up a pig/cow hoof that I gave her just a few days before I took her to the vet. I had forgotten that I gave her the pigs hoof, so I did not inform the vet about it. I called the vet freaking out about it, angry that the vet didnt try to do more to find out what was causing my dogs lethargy, they said I should bring her in for another visit ($) and an xray ($). When I finally spoke to Dr. Scott, she was very angry and defensive and said that I was to blame for them not finding out about her stomach, that I was basically a terrible pet owner (parent as she put it) for not bringing her back in (which she seemed slightly better then before so of course I didnt take her in), and they were at no fault. She also described what I had told them during the first visit and no where in what she read did it say she had loose stool, wasnt eating, and was lethargic. She accused me of not saying things that would have been "key" to find out what was wrong. WHAT MORE ELSE DO I NEED TO SAY THEN MY DOG ISNT EATING, HAS LOOSE STOOL, AND IS LETHARGIC?!?!?! This is ridiculous, and I will not put up with this. The last time I took a dog to a vet, (my last dog) and they assumed something that was incorrect, she ended up dying the next day. So what I learned about this vet is they only want your money, and they DO NOT listen.

Let me start this review by saying that WE LOVE DR. SCOTT, our monsters over the past 15 years have been patients, we have traveled from out of town when we lived in the Dallas area JUST to see her. But we have been forced to now look for a new veterinarian, as her office has instituted a policy claiming it is enforcing Texas State Law, which is incorrect. This is after I was also told by another employee that they had changed that rule. Can a veterinarian refuse to write a prescription for a client/patient? There is no requirement in Texas law for a veterinarian to write prescriptions. Veterinarians are among the few professionals that maintain their own drug and medication inventories. This does give some clients concern, but we do not have the authority to change the practice. We are aware of the AVMAs Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics that encourages the writing of prescriptions upon request, but these are guidelines only and the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners cannot enforce them. Some veterinarians are willing to negotiate prices for medications to compete with lower cost pharmacies.

We love Dr Scott ! when our 4 yr old Pomeraniam was sent home by another vet to die (in a matter of hours they said) we are so grateful our friends knew Dr Scott. She worked us in immediately and knew Kobe was in acute ketoacidosis and intervened with the correct medical plan. She saved his life and now 5 yrs later Kobe lives a happy, healthy life. WITH Diabetes ! She and her staff have always gone the extra mile for us. We have more than one dog that sees her. She explains things thoroughly, shares any and all information she has and charges you only for what you & your pet requires. She provides you with a thorough, cost effective care plan. and best of all she is one of the few vets who can handle diabetic pets. We were amazed at the onset of Kobe diabetes that not every vet handles or knows how to handle diabetes in pets. She is an animal lover too and has true empathy for her patients and their owners. The staff is wonderful and the clinic is clean, clean, clean. We will never go to another Vet. Many happy years & blessings to Dr Scott ! We LOVE her !

I suppose they did a good job at removing my dogs lump but they charged me an extra $150 for something i did not request. After talking several useless phone calls i eventually met the business manager at the location who just defended the mistake of her employee and pretty much flat out called me a liar (as i let the girl behind the counter check off the surgery form for me). All in all my dog is doing fine and that is what matters but they were completely unapologetic about adding services that i did not request and charging me for it. I will not even go into the very long wait time it took on my first visit to get someone to see my dog. (I had to stay one hour into a little room) DO NOT RECOMMEND

My family and I just moved to The Woodlands and didnt know where to take Wally (he is a full gordon setter) so in the beginning we took him to a place around here and OMG!!!! they sure do charge Woodlands prices (up the ying yang) and I had done research and found My Family Vet.... never go anywhere else...Dr. Scott she is emo-mazing and she sure did make us feel like family...and her staff is awesome....we were new and she personally took take of Wally and explained everything she was going to do to him, recommended anything we needed to do as to Vegas was different from Texas. Every time I go she knows us and greets us and that is priceless in my book. I appreciate their hospitality. GOOD JOB!!!

We had 2 tumors removed from one of the dogs, the price was good and they even did a teeth cleaning for really cheap while they were in there. The checkup prices were also really good. They match pricing with PetMeds for heartworm, so get it there. The place is nice, the staff is friendly and you can tell they love their job. The vet spent a lot of time and was concerned about all aspects of the dogs health. I did a lot of research and called a LOT of vet offices before I found this one. Most of the offices i called were really really expensive, the receptionist were not very nice, and there seemed to be bad reviews and lots of gotchas. Not My Family Vet!

Dr. Scott is amazing! My 5 year old Yorkie had some major dental issues. I went to one vet in Houston that didnt want to take the case and wanted to send me to a pet dentist - which would have cost $1,500+. Dr. Scott saw my dog and had no worries about doing the surgery and even worked with me to make sure it wasnt crazy expensive. The staff was great and called me immediately after the surgery to update me and to follow up the next day to make sure she was healing ok. She genuinely wants the best for your pets but understands not everyone can afford to an expensive vet bill. I will 100% be going back and telling all my friends to go here.
