First off to anyone complaining about price. You do make the decision on getting the work done or not. It is in fact your animal. If you dont ever trust a facility you should get second opinions. Of course you dont have a choice for second opinion if your pet has a life death situation. Anyway I have used VCA of The Woodlands for about 4 years. I have boarded my dogs and have never had any issues. In fact I just had my min pin boarded over Labor Day Weekend and he is a handful to say the least. He was well taken care of. Also I do take advantage of the Pet Stylist they have. Her name is Tracy and she is fairly new. I think she has been there only for the last 2 years. But my dogs just adore her and the pictures she gives of the dogs are amazing. To see how she acts with my min pin who is very difficult at times is awesome. He loves her baths while my Shih tzu gets the full on styling package she has. Go see for yourself. Prices are very reasonable. She relaxes my dog and makes the whole experience less stressful. For those complaining about the vets, they can only do as much as you are willing to let them do. If you dont want to pay for certain tests because you are worried about your wallet rather than your loved one. Dont blame them when your pet gets worse. Also just like in humans there are times when there is nothing else they can do to help your loved one. Quick story, I had a 110 pound redbone hound that had gotten sick. She was a killer. Loved chasing rabbits, treeing coons, killing whatever that moved because she was a hunting dog. So I took her sick to a different vet in the spring area and we did all sorts of tests and come to find out she was poisoned by the neighbors. There was nothing I could do or the vet could do. Sometimes you lose the best pet you will ever have and no Dr can help save them. Ok back to VCA The Woodlands. The Vets I have dealt with are Dr Nick and Dr. Wilkins. They are very intelligent. I have all sorts of skin issues and allergies with my shih tzu and both have seen him and have helped diagnose and now with him being on a vegetarian diet, he actual doesnt need the vet much anymore other than the typical yearly and quarterly check ups. As for price. Everyone will complain about being over charged. They are not a charity service its a business. Again you are always in control of your wallet. I hate getting any bill for any amount. They always call me and ask me if I want this specific procedure done. And at that point I ask how much does that cost. But they give me the price before they will do anything to my pets. So for all who ever complain about price just remember you are always in control of how much you spend. You can ask is that a necessary test or tell them like I always do. I am not going to pay for anything that is not seriously needed or approved by me. So I hope my review will shed light on this location that I enjoy taking my dogs to.

These people are truly disgusting. They returned my cat to me DEAD but pretended that he was still alive so that I could transport him to another facility for observation or some bull that probably wasnt even necessary to begin with. YES, THEY ACTUALLY DID THIS. This is a cat that was jumping on counters and exploring every nook and cranny of the examining room just hours before. I should have known something was wrong when they were taking FOREVER to get my cat ready for transport, when the reception lady had tears in her eyes like shed been crying while she was charging my credit card nearly $1400 (and I was still under the impression that he was fine), when the assistant person FINALLY brought my cat out and said something weird right off the bat like "I know he looks really bad but.." and seemed to nervously assure me that he was okay without me even having to ask. My cat was just lying there motionless in the crate with tubes everywhere and he did look absolutely dead, but they acted like he wasnt and I didnt question it because I assumed they were honest, caring professionals who would know a dead cat when they saw one or handled one. Imagine my shock when low and behold I was told that my cat was dead upon arrival at the other facility only 8 minutes later. Its utterly despicable how they could do that to cover their asses. Completely unethical. What did they do to my cat to warrant such a ridiculous, cruel lie? Just how incompetent were they? His heart had stopped beating from being over-sedated for God knows how long and from who knows how many unnecessary battery of tests to inflate the bill. There was also some mention of the blood work machine not working correctly that day so it was just a big fat unprofessional mess. From some other reviews, this facility apparently has a BIG problem anesthetizing pets without having their hearts stop. Mine wasnt the first and surely wont be the last. Whoevers in charge of that should be terminated immediately because hes clearly an incompetent idiot and doesnt have a clue what hes doing (and would definitely lie about killing your cat to cover himself). Its absolutely correct what people are saying about this place: they only care about the money, not the pets or the owners. What kind of place lies about your pet being alive when theyve killed him? These people are just sick and should be ashamed of themselves. They did send me a condolence card A MONTH AFTER my cats death, tactlessly bringing back all the sadness and grief that I was finally beginning to handle. Thanks so much. I wish Id never heard of this place. It was such a huge mistake bringing my cat here, and Ill regret it for the rest of my life.

I wish I had read the reviews before allowing this place to take advantage of me and my poor little sick cat. If you need a close location for vaccinations, sure....stop by. The costs are astronomical, but I dont care about cost when it comes to my babies. I thought perhaps the cost might be associated with quality, I was wrong. If your pet is sick, please do not trust this clinic. I had an experience much like the girl who said they gave her cat back to her dead. Mine was in this hospital from a Thurs-Sat and after spending over $2200, I still had to take him down the road to a different clinic and hold him while he was finally be put out of his misery. It was gut wrenching. The vet actually advised me not to bring a medication (at the beginning of hospitalization) that may have assisted in saving his life. In fact, during his entire hospital stay, NOTHING was done about his actual problem...they were only managing symptoms. And before you assume, my cat was not old. He died two days before his 5th birthday. I promised myself I would not write a review filled with hate and malice. Its been one year, two months, and 7 days since I lost my sweet little Noah. And yes, the other reviewers are correct....the focus at this clinic is to absorb as much money from you as possible. I respect the fact that all successful businesses focus on increasing sales...but this place is disgusting. I did write a lengthy letter explaining the details of my experience to the clinic months after the incident. I did not receive any response. I dont believe the vet purposely killed my cat, but I do believe negligence was involved. Mistakes are made in both medical and veterinarian care regularly, humans are only human. However, there was no admission of negligence...just an initial call to confirm that I had made the right decision by ending his suffering. We could have saved him had the focus only been on the cause of his symptoms.
