When my oldest child was young, maybe three years old, I took him to a pediatric dentist (I wont mention names) for his first dental visit. He was very uncomfortable at the office, though it was supposed to be child-friendly, and was terrified of the dentist and cried the entire time. It was tough for the dentist to even see what his teeth looked like with all the drama. This dentist wanted to put fillings in ALL his molars, as a measure for preventing cavities! I would have had to take him to the hospital and they would have used anesthesia on him to knock him out for the procedure! I couldnt believe a dentist would require such extreme measures! I decided Id better get a second opinion, and thank goodness I was recommended to try Dr. Murdock. I was worried about how my son would react to Dr. Murdock, but the experience was completely the opposite of the first dental visit with the pediatric dentist. Dr. Murdocks son was there that day, and he made the visit so much fun for my son! He let him "shoot" the water sprayer at targets along the sink, made him balloons out of latex gloves, played with him and was so cute with him! The rest of the staff is much the same with my kids -- fun, upbeat and friendly. There are always toys and games, books and movies for kids when they come to the office, so even though Dr. Murdock isnt known as a pediatric dentist, I would say his office is every bit as kid-friendly as any pediatric dentists, if not more so. They even have iPods kids can use to watch cartoons while Dr. Murdock is working on their teeth! At the end of a check-up, all kids receive a gold coin to use in a vending machine, where they can purchase small toys. They especially love this and are always so excited when I tell them its time to see the dentist! :) When I told Dr. Murdock what the pediatric dentist had wanted me to do and showed him the estimate sheet I was given, he was appalled. After looking at my sons teeth (he calls it "counting" their teeth to make it fun), he informed me all he had was stains -- no cavities. What a relief! Dr. Murdock is very careful when prescribing treatment and will only recommend getting fillings or other dental work if he feels its absolutely necessary. Ive had him watch a small cavity of mine for more than a year, checking each visit to see if it was getting any bigger. He wont fill a cavity unless its big enough to warrant it or its causing discomfort. He makes a point of communicating everything to his patients, so they understand why hes recommending a certain treatment, or why he thinks it should wait. I really cant say enough good things about Dr. Murdock. I havent had any experience with Dr. Searle, but if he works with Dr. Murdock, he must be good. All the staff members are friendly and make you feel right at home. This is an amazing office and I have told my friends and family how awesome it is, and have sent many their way. Dont hesitate to go to this office -- you wont regret it.

We have been going to Dr. Murdock for 21 years and Dr. Searle for 6. I have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. My kids LOVE Dr. Murdock! He is so good with kids. He makes going to the dentist fun and it has been a godsend for us because some of our kids were very fearful. Dr. Searle is fabulous as well. We have been going to him as since he joined the practice. My teenagers and adult children love him as well. He is always quick to laugh and very personable. As far as the quality of their work, it has always been excellent! My grandson is 4 and had to have some very extensive work done that required him to be asleep while Dr. Murdock worked on his teeth. It was fabulous and my grandson is not afraid of the dentist and I am so grateful that Dr. Murdock was able to do such an excellent job with what he had to work with. I had a gold inlay that fell out the other day and when I told one of my friends about it she informed me that it would just fall out again! Well I went to Dr. Searle and he cleaned it up and glued it back in and it is as good as new!!! If you are looking for good dentists I strongly recommend these good men, I am so grateful to both of them and that they have been a part of our family!

Growing up I had horrible experiences when it came to the dentist. From the first time I walked in this office almost 10 years ago I knew something was different. Dr Murdock was the very first dentist I ever saw who didnt make me feel like a baby because I was terrified! He was beyond compassionate! He took the time it required to make sure I was all the way numb! What a difference!!! Then when I would take my daughter in with me he always stopped and talked to her for a minute and looked at her princess teeth! She has never been afraid of the dentist because of that simple act of kindness! Dr. Searle was there the day I needed some work done on my daughter and I was beyond impressed with how well he and his staff treated her and me (the nervous mom) he was quick and still to this day she has no idea she had a shot in her mouth! This office is absolutely amazing!!! I recommend them all the time!!

I have loved every experience that I have had at Murdock and Searle! Ive never had to worry about trusting them to take care of my family and I. Dr Searle does amazing work and I love that he treats us not only as patients, but as friends as well. He always makes sure that we understand what is going on and gives all the options, and explains the cost so we never have any surprises come up that we dont know about. I love that we can not only trust our dentist, but enjoy going there as well! My kids are always excited to get their teeth cleaned and to get a "gold coin" for a prize after! I HIGHLY recommend this office to everyone searching for a dentist!!

Murdock and Searle Family dentistry exceeded my expectations! I recently moved into the area looking for a new Dentist - unfortunately in my first attempt I went with a "free gift card" dentist near the Starbucks in town and it was a very short and impersonal visit. Knowing I needed cavities fixed I searched reviews and found this office to be one of the best! 5 stars is exactly right! I was greeted warmly by the office assistants, the hygienist was friendly and gentle in her cleaning, and Dr Searle was honest and professional. They took the time to explain the x-rays and best plan of care for my teeth. They will make you feel right at home!

After being told by a dentist in Arizona that many of my teeth with silver filling had cracks and would need to be redone. I checked with an old friend that is a retired dentist. He told me to never let anyone tell you to remove the silver fillings. After reading reviews from many local dentists in Utah County I picked Dr. Murdock, what a great decision... He is totally professional, unlike several dentist I had tried, there was no up selling. What a great experience, and without input from me, told me my silver fillings were not only fine, but great. A good dentist is really hard to find these days... But I found one.
