The first time I met Dr Young I was 8 weeks pregnant and having a miscarriage. He didnt believe me because the ultrasound showed nothing - I miscarried minutes later in his office. He had me do a number of blood tests before he treated it as an actual miscarriage. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and saw him again with my second pregnancy. In the first trimester I developed a bad yeast infection. I had no idea what it was at the time (I had never had one before). I gave him classic symptoms for a yeast infection; he performed a painful vaginal exam, told me I had a UTI, and prescribed me an antibiotic. I told him that I have had UTIs and that this was different, but he didnt believe me. I also expressed my concerns about taking an antibiotic while pregnant but he said it was better I take it than not. So I put my trust in him "The Doctor" and followed through. Little did I know, antibiotics make yeast infections 10 times worse. My yeast infection got so bad that my new midwife (yes, I stopped seeing him later) and I couldnt get rid of it until after I had my baby and my hormone levels went back to normal. I suffered from 3rd degree tearing during labor with months of recovery after that. My midwife and I firmly believe it was because of the yeast infection and the poor condition of my skin. I also believe it could have all been avoided if we had treated it as a yeast infection from the very beginning. He is a nice doctor, but not open-minded to patients concerns or opinions. I usually try really hard to see where someone is coming from and not place judgment, but if an OB cant tell the difference between a yeast infection and a UTI, then I dont think he has any business being an OB. It has taken me 2 years to write this review because I dont like to criticize, but the more I open up with other people, the more they tell me about their poor experiences with Dr Young. If you do decide to see him, please seek a second opinion if/when anything comes up. Between the infection, tearing, and recovery, I had an entire year of pain in my lady parts and it was NOT fun! Never again.

Dr. Young is amazing!! My husband and I tried for years to get pregnant with no luck. When I started seeing Dr. Young he immediately assured me that he would do everything to help us and Id be able to get pregnant. His care and confidence was so reassuring. I just had my first child and Dr. Young was absolutely incredible throughout the entire journey!! We love him! I felt like he knew and cared about ME and I wasnt just any patient. Every situation that came up, no matter how big or small, he was always calm and knew just what to do. It is amazing to feel confident in your doctor and know you are in great hands! This is definitely the case with Dr. Young. Any question or concern I had was always addressed with respect and kindness no matter how silly it was. He always takes the time to help me understand what is going on, my options, and helped feel comfortable with any decision I made. He is so kind and such a fantastic doctor! I am so glad we see him! I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for an OBGyn!

Dr. Young was my OB/GYN for my second pregnancy and delivery. I decided to go with him as a doctor because he let me know he would be able to be there with me when I delivered. In Provo that is a hard commitment to get from a doctor since most doctors work in teams and they rotate which doctor is on call for deliveries. I appreciated knowing I wouldnt have to deal with a stranger when I was in the delivery room. He was always respectful, informative, and supportive right when I needed him to be. And although sometimes I had to remind him the details about my situation, he always listened and addressed my concerns, and then made a plan with me for what we would do to address the problem. I LOVED his nurses, they were all helpful and kind and excited to see me. When I delivered I felt very safe, very supported and very respected. You dont know what to expect each delivery and it was nice to have him there. He was calm and made decisions quickly and wisely. I will be seeing him again if I ever need an OB/GYN.

I have loved having Dr. Young as my doctor the past 6 years. He has delivered 3 out of my 4 children (Dr. Allen delivered my first and is equally awesome). I have always felt I was in good hands and that me and my baby would be safe under his care. I have always felt that he has listened to my concerns and had mine and my babys best interest at heart. He was very kind and compassionate during my miscarriage and when he saw that I was pregnant again months later, he called to tell me congratulations on being pregnant again. When I had my last baby, he was not scheduled to be on call that night but left a family party to come in and deliver my baby since I have been his patient for a long time. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and excellent doctor. And can I just say how much I love his nurses at his office?! They have become my friends and I love chatting with them each time I go in. Thank you Dr. Young!

Dr. Young is absolutely incredible! I highly recommend seeing Dr. Young. He is very kind and personable! I was nervous at first to meet with any doctor and as soon as I saw his picture online I knew I had to meet with him, I just felt very comfortable all of the sudden. As soon as he came in to the office I knew I had made the right decision. I really appreciate that he listened to all of my questions and concerns and provided very caring answers.Towards the end of our appointment he apologized for keeping me a bit longer, and I was very impressed. He truly does make you feel like he genuinely cares about you and truly shows you that you are more than just an appointment time. I also loved his staff, they are so friendly and kind. Ariel was incredible as well! I will never forget my experience and I look forward to working with him moving forward! :) He is phenomenal!

Dr. Young is incredible! My wife ended up getting really sick during our first pregnancy and we ended up having a stillborn little boy. We were devastated. Dr. Young was very supportive through it all. The next time we got pregnant we were terrified of the same thing happening over again. Dr. Young took every extra precaution he could to help ease our fears. He even gave us his cell phone number so we could call or text him any time with questions or concerns. We ended up calling and texting him several times because our second pregnancy also had complications. He was amazing and so supportive through everything. He helped us deliver a beautiful and healthy baby boy on Thanksgiving Day (and then returned that evening with some turkey for us!). We love Dr. Young and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great OBGYN!
