I moved to SLC a few months ago so needless to say I didnt have a dentist here yet and unfortunately I broke a molar. Went to Monarch to find out about how much a root canal and a crown would cost me. The offices are beautiful. I filled out all the paperwork and gave them the discount card I have (which pays 50% of the work done on my teeth) They did the exam (very nice people) then they come back with the costs broken down with a total of $3787.00 now remember this is for a root canal, build up, and crown. All I could think was either the cost for a root canal/crown has really went up or Utah is way to high. I went back to my office and started calling other dentists. In fact I called a total of 18 different dentist and each and every one of them was about 1/2 the cost of Monarch IN OTHER WARDS MONARCH DOUBLED THE COST BECAUSE MY INSURANCE PAYS 50% . Here is a short example: The work that I needed done would of cost me triple. Monarch cost for a root canal $1220 my portion $610 delta portion $610 Other Dentist $600-$620 my cost $300-$310. Monarch cost for a crown $980.00 my portion $490 delta portion $490 Other dentist $450-$550 my cost $225-$275 THEY ARE VERY NICE TO YOU AND ALL SMILES AND FRIENDLY BUT BE AWARE THEY WILL TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU IN A HEART BEAT...PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT THE COST BEFORE YOU GO TO THEM. Have a awesome day!

If I could rate negative stars, I would. Seven years ago, I went to Monarch because I was new in town and they seemed cheapest for my young, un-insured wallet. WORSE. EXPERIENCE. EVER. They made me wait almost two hours, in the chair, for my first cleaning appointment. Then, during a root canal, they didnt have water for me to rinse my mouth, and that medicine is disgusting! Then, the dentists tool actually broke inside my tooth. He didnt have a replacement so he sent me home with a half-assed job and told me to come back. Then I went back, and surprise! The dentist was at a conference and they forgot to tell me, so I rescheduled again. I drove across the valley in a serious snow storm for my next appointment only to be told that he stood me up AGAIN. He finally finished the job and I promptly found a new dentist. Fast forward seven years. No surprise, my dentist discovered they left some root in place and it is infected. I have to have that root canal done again. Im sure I dont have a legal leg to stand on, but this is ridiculous. I LOATHE MONARCH DENTAL.

Despite the fact that Monarch Dental has presence in multiple states of the US, the practice in this clinic is in need of improvement. It felt like I was part of the assembly line there, well, of a slow one. My appointment which was scheduled for 3.30, but had to wait till 4.25. Doctor was trying to get things really fast, as there was another client in line, who has also been waiting now for an hour. Doctor decided to have all 4 teeth filled that day, so he was very generous with the amount of lidokain to inject into my mouth. He was fast, indeed - 4 teeth filled in a half an hour...Wow! So, as you can see - here it is quantity and not quality that is important. Plus, they billed the fillings incorrectly. Now, I am trying to work with an office person, who is new, and it seems like she is making up stories, because she doesnt know what to say. I would recommend to find a different clinic to go to. This one is too much headache.

I was very impressed with Dr. Meeks. I went to a horrible dentist before him that told me that I had two cavities and for one of the cavities she would need to do a crown. She also said I had two fillings that had to be replaced. The dental bill would have been horrendous. I went to Dr. Meeks for a second opinion. He only found one cavity and said that the tooth that the other dentist said needed a crown was just fine, saving me $700. He didnt even charge me for the second opinion even though he had to take some more x-rays. He did a great job at filling the cavity. He is an excellent and honest dentist and I would highly recommend him.

Im finding it hard to rate this place. The doctor did a good job, the staff we very friendly and helpful, but the place hasnt been updated since 1988 Im pretty sure. The chairs I sat in for my procedures had cracked plastic and vinyl and looks just generally dirty. The carpet had stains. Hard to get a procedure done in a place that doesnt look sanitary. Also, they made me believe that my procedure was pre-approved through my insurance company, though it was just an estimate. I ended up paying almost $1000 more because it wasnt pre-approved. I complained and they knocked $50 off was all. I would not go back.

Not good. I went there for a first appointment and they did nothing and then made me schedule another appointment to get a cleaning done (even though the original appointment was for a cleaning!). They were also pretty rude about it and said that is what they do for new patients. I later had to get some work done and the price they originally quoted wasnt even close to what they charged. They were also rude when I asked why the charges were higher. I later heard they have a reputation for recommending unnecessary/expensive dental work, and I believe that to be true. Glad I switched to a different dentist.

Terrible place, and its too bad. The doctors were always very nice, but the support staff are incompetent. You can schedule a regular cleaning 6 months in advance, and theyll call you two days before, saying theyre double-booked, cancel your appointment, and never call to reschedule. Our family had that happen with both regular cleaning appointments and permanent crown placement appointments. Lastly, they failed to bill my insurance for our $1000 orthodontic benefit, so we ended up paying an extra thousand bucks for braces. Find another dentist/orthodontist. Chances are, Monarch cant get you in anyway.

The staff were friendly enough and seemed to do a good job, but I feel bad for the for the disgusting environment they have to work in. The state of cleanliness of this place is appalling. My cleaning chair was taped together with much of the inside coming out, the other hygienist equipment was falling apart ( literally hinges hanging loose), the brochures have not been replaced since the 80s. Do yourself a favor and NEVER COME HERE! Also if you schedule a cleaning, dont expect to be seen by a dentist. They rather make you come back for a follow up appointment. Absolutely ridiculous business model.

There are two great things about this place. 1) The office is located right downtown with covered parking. 2) They give you free custom mouth trays and whitening gel to take home after every cleaning! Dentist Meeks put in a fake tooth for me. It looks great and there was no pain. (Plus, for the ladies, he is quite attractive *wink*) The only downside to this place is that there is about a 3 month book out for appointments. If you need a cleaning NOW, ask to get on their cancellation list. Youll usually get a call within a week asking if you can come in later that day or the next.
