The office is old and not very clean. Dr. Cox our pediatrician, although very friendly at first, gave us bad advice too many times to bring our baby daughter back here. When my newborn daughter had a rash on her chest, Dr. Cox prescribed a steroid cream which is very strong for a small baby AND shouldn’t be given right after immunizations as steroids cancel out immunizations. Our new doctor gave us a fungal creme for her rash which cleared it up after one use. At another appointment the nurse here wrote my daughter’s weight down incorrectly (I had written down my babys weight in a baby book after each appointment) and so when we went back the following appointment it looked like my daughter had only gained 1 ounce in 3 months. I tried to explain to Dr. Cox that it must have been an error, but instead she told me to start feeding my 9 month old high fat and high calorie foods (add heavy cream, cheese, and oil to my child’s meals) AND she told me to start giving her eggs which my daughter broke out into serious hives after because you are not supposed to give children under 12 months eggs, which I did not know as a new mother and should have been warned of by the pediatrician. Too many strikes out.

I really did love taking my kids to sunnyside until recently today my son was sick.. stuffy nose and cough and Ive noticed hes been spitting up a lot and threw up after eating.. so I called and instead of any guidance was told by on call, Holbrook, that he just needed to come in. So I said ok and I did set up an appointment. When I got in, for the first time I was asked for a copay.. I literally had 0$. I told the receptionist I had nothing and that my son really needed to be seen. So she calls back to his doctor, dr Sandra philips, to let her know I couldnt pay the copay and instead of billing it, like I know some places do especially because hes a premature infant, she turned us away and said if I cant pay the copay she wont see my son. I was so shocked! She then told me I can just call in when I have the money to reschedule and I can bring him in to be seen. I was absolutely embarrassed there were so many other moms there that saw me and my 3 month old son get turned away. I am now switching doctors because I feel like they are all about the money and dont really care about the children.

Dr. Holbrook was the oncall pediatrician when I delivered at Salt Lake Regional. She was so sweet and caring that I decided to keep her as my sons pediatrician. She was well worth the 30minute drive to the office. The front desk staff were always very sweet as well. Dr. Holbrook always addressed every concern I had no matter how tiny. As a first time mom, she helped easy my many worries and never brushed anything off. I was always impressed by her knowledge and kindness. I Highly recommend her. Unfortunately we had to move out of state and I have to find a new doctor. I hope to find one at least half as caring as her!

Doctor Shriewer is amazing. She has kept a close eye on our son and has helped us through his under-weight problems since I began seeing her two years ago. She helps me find referrals and make sure that they follow through with them. She doesnt rush me out of the room and listens to everything I have to say. She seriously is the best doctor I could ask for. Ive never had a doctor wait until I was done asking questions before they rushed me out of the door before. When my son is sick, she calls me back personally. Sunnyside also has a great after hours service.

The staff at Sunnyside has always been efficient, helpful, and great with my child. Ive always been able to make a same-day appointment and get on with whatever treatment is prescribed. The information they provide to me during our visit is detailed, informative, and complete, answering all the questions I may have and more. The office is clean, and very child-centric, which is great if the child is already scared and uncomfortable. I would highly recommend these pediatricians and their staff.

Dr. Susie Holbrook is an amazing pediatrician! She takes time to address issues with my kids and talks to them about the procedures during their visit. She is extremely sweet and was blessed with patience too! The woman is so patient with little ones who are upset. She is also so sweet. She is highly knowledgeable in her field. I would, and have, recommended her to my friends with children. Also, Dr. Susies MA, Roberta is EVERYTHING!!

I love everything about this place! Dr Cox is fabulous, she cares about each child and really listens to the parents. The nurses are great, especially at getting those dreaded shots and throat swabs done quickly. The front desk staff are friendly and courteous. Weve been bringing our kids to Dr Cox for 17 years now and will keep coming until the last one turns 18.
