Worst Vet Ever!!! This is a long story so I will try to just do a timeline format. If you are using him as a vet or thinking about using him in the future BE CAREFUL. Sunday after 3:00pm- We left for vacation at 3:00pm sometime after that our two little micro chipped dogs got out of our yard. At some point they were picked up and taken to Tooele Veterinary Clinic (Joe Roundy-vet). When our family came later that evening to care for the dogs they were gone. Sunday Night - Tuesday Morning-Our family drove around for hours looking for the dogs, we called the neighbors and posted info on Facebook about them missing. We didnt bother calling the pound because they were chipped and we were told we would receive a call if they were picked up. Tuesday Afternoon- Out of desperation we called the pound just to see if they happened to be there. They were and my mother was told that she could not pick them up without vaccination records. Wed.- My husband called Tooele Veterinary Clinic to see what was all needed in order to pick up the dogs. He asked the person who answered the phone when the dogs were chipped. He was immediately transferred to Joe Roundy. He asked the same question. He was immediately met with a very annoyed, angry and rude Roundy who told him that his scanner was broken and that if we really cared about the dogs we would have called Sunday night. Conversation continued to heat as he started talking about how Mexicans stole his dog and he found it much faster than we found our dogs. My husband found that statement racist and completely off topic from our situation. We didnt want to pay for the days that his scanner was broken because if it wasnt we would have picked up the dogs Monday morning. During this conversation he threatened to put the dogs down if we didnt pay him everything. After his conversation with Roundy he called the Animal Adoption Center in Salt Lake where we got the dogs. We needed them to fax over vaccination records so my mom could pick them up. On our behalf the Animal Adoption Center called Tooele Vet. Clinic and asked for the chip numbers for the dogs, which they were given...HMMMMM I THOUGHT THE SCANNER WAS BROKEN!!!! Later that day my mom and sister went to get the dogs. The staff and Roundy were rude to them, raised their voices and refused to give them the dogs unless my husband went in and apologized to him. My mom told him that if the dogs had been scanned this never would have happened. She was told then that the scanner was broken. Did it break again?? These guys cant get their story straight. Wait there is more. After demanding that he turn over the dogs because we had provided them with payment and all the paperwork they requested we found out that he had given one of our dogs a Rabies shot that did not need it and charged us for it!! Later upon returning home we found that the county tags that we were told we had to purchase through him had expired last December. Upon researching and calling county officials we were told that due to our location in which we live the only option for our animals if picked up is to go to Joe Roundys clinic in Tooele. They were familiar with his poor business practices and told us many similar experiences. Cant believe he is still in business and caring for animals. Go somewhere else!!!

Im used to going into salt lake for my vet visits but decided to try something closer to home. Im glad I did! They got me in the same day I called! I waited no more than 10 minutes after I filled out paperwork to see the vet. The doctor was great! Very informative. I could tell the clinic was busy but he took plenty of time to look over my dog and prescribe some medications to help his vomiting and diarrhea. He showed me how to administer the medications. He also plucked my dogs ears for me as well as shaved around his eyes and bottom where the groomer missed. My other dog began having the same symptoms and I will be taking him in later on today. Im sure my experience will be the same. I wasnt pressured into procedures or tests, he mentioned a a few tests we could conduct but he advised against it saying he would rather have my money go towards something he was sure would fix the problem. The cost was probably a third of what I am used to paying at other clinics so that was a relief. My only complaint would be whoever answers the phone. She was a little short with my questions and concerns and seemed annoyed a little. Its understandable at the end of a long day which is when I called the first time but I did call again the next day for my second dog first thing in the morning and the response was the same. Still giving 5 stars because everyone was kind once I got there.

I have owned dogs all of my life, and I have lived all over the country. I am not new to veterinary clinics, and I understand that all of their clients are important to them. BUT I have never taken my beloved dog to a clinic with such uncaring and incompetent staff. Receptionists lost my paperwork; wait times were outrageous; Dr. Roundy was uncaring, and follow-up phone calls for test results/issues were non-existent. If you want your time wasted and if you want a veterinarian who doesn’t care about your beloved pet, this is the clinic for you. Otherwise, you will want to go someplace else. When I called the clinic to ask them to fax my dogs records to my new clinic, they put me on hold. The next thing I knew Dr. Roundy was on the other end of the line yelling at me and refusing to fax my dogs records. It was extremely unprofessional. I am very happy with my choice to trust my beloved dogs healthcare to someone else.

We just moved here to Tooele and went to see Joe on the recommendation of a friend who has lived here much longer. I am sure glad I did. I had gone to Midvalley Animal clinic on Redwood Road in the Salt Lake valley and they are a good clinic and would recommend them but I would recommend seeing doc Roundy first. I have a pure bred Vizsla and he did in 5 minutes what Midvalley had quoted me for that was to have taken anesthetic and an over night stay and he did it for a tenth the cost. This guy knows his stuff. His straight talking frank honest country style may not sit with some city folk but I was raised on a farm and was comfortable with his style. I found the staff to be professional and very nice. I highly recommend Tooele Veterinary Clinic. Gary

Last year we brought in our two kittens for their kitten shots. I called around in advance and this was the best prices. We also made appointments for their gender reassignment surgery and de-claw their front claws. 4 days later the little boy died, I called them and the front office person was very rude and snippy. She told me we didnt get all of their shots. I made an appointment for my little girl, went I seen the Vet, he was very compassionate for the circumstance. He told me the girl was good until next year. They must have talked to the front peoples, they are much nicer! I like our Vet, hes very caring and he answers all of our questions and takes the time to do so.
