My older Dachshund has been off and on sick over the past year. Each time, the vet is very accommodating by getting us in quickly, but each time we are there, they continue to push very major dental surgery to fix oral fistulas in his mouth. The poor guy seems to be in no pain, and is generally a very happy dog. Hes also about 14-years-old (I dont know exactly as he was a rescue). I think its horrible that they push such a major surgery for a senior dog. I will not consider the surgery, as at his age I consider it cruel to put him through that. Last time there, it was my fiance that brought him. She said they were pretty condescending regarding the condition of his mouth/teeth. Again, he was a shelter dog, and had all of those issues when we rescued him. We were not the cause. They clearly question that, however, which is incredibly rude, in my opinion. Each time hes gotten sick, they state hes in advanced renal failure (hes been in "advanced renal failure" for over a year now). Amazingly, antibiotics appear to temporarily cure this renal failure. Amazing, huh? Also, despite in such an advanced state of disease, as they claim, they push hard for major, and expensive, surgery. Its totally inappropriate, in my opinion. I continue to go here because they are close to home, and my little guy gets anxiety riding in the car. So, I tolerate their pushiness, and borderline condescension, for his sake.

We were new to the area and had just moved. I brought our 7yr old family dog in to have her checked because I felt something was very wrong. After the vet examined her he told me what it was and said that it would require a $1500 surgery. I was holding my newborn at the time and was alone and knew that there was no way I could afford it. I called other vets for pricing and all were above $1000. I told the vet I couldnt afford it and he told me my only other option was to put her down. While in tears debating what to do he said to me, you would be killing her over nothing. After this surgery she easily could have another 12yrs left of life! It tore me apart. I simply couldnt afford the surgery. I had to put her down. I cant even describe how cold and mean the Vet was. I was traumatized by the experience. I never want anyone to experience what I did. It was awful. I dont normally write reviews, but I want to save anyone from going through the heartbreak I went through of not only losing our family dog, but of how heartless and cold the vet was in making such a difficult and painful decision on my own.

Hello, I believe the employees at Aqua Fria have a terrible job. It is incredibly difficult to say farewell to yet another family member as we all know. Within 1 year we have said goodbye to two of our pups. Even though one was 13 years old, it hurts just as much as our 1 1/2 year old. On December 26th I sent our baby onto his new home with the help of Dr. Toribio and Liz. Through it all, I remember the gentle rub Liz gave me that radiated caring, and the patience and love from Dr. Toribio. For 30 years I have personally owed a pet. Since I found Aqua Fria and Dr. Toribio, I have felt like I have the same relationship as I did with my daughters pediatrician; always returns my calls in a timely manner, discussing different options, emergency visit on a Sunday... This little office packs one heck of a loving and caring staff with every visit I have. Thank you from the bottom of our puppy hearts; Sasha, Augustus Tiberious Sebastian, Cooper, and most importantly Remi. Your office is the best.

We called on a Saturday morning, the day after Christmas when every other veterinarian was closed. We are new to the area, so did not really know where to go. When we called the Aqua Fria Animal Clinic, they were so helpful and even though they were booked up they still told us that they would fit us in. We were very grateful for that, since our dog had developed a bad skin rash and needed help. We arrived at the clinic and within 10-15 minutes were seen by the veterinarian. Dr. Toribio was very caring and patient, and prescribed some medication for our dog. We left feeling relieved and fortunate that we were able to get an appointment. We would definitely return to Aqua Fria Animal Clinic, as everybody on the staff was super friendly, helpful and very caring. They are all so nice. They also called a few days later to make sure our dog was doing okay. They have since sent us information to sign up for online registration, which would make things even easier for us. WE LOVE THEM!

First time visitor! Overall had a nice experience getting my dogs updated on their vaccines and examined. The building is not very attractive on the outside, but nice enough on the inside, and most importantly, not smelly. I was able to get an appointment on short notice in the evening when I was available. Staff was nice enough. No one else was in the waiting room and we were sent to an exam room right away. The exam room and was clean and bright and spacious. I liked the vet techs. Dr Toribio was ok but his tone of voice when he had bad news made me worried like it was the end of the world my dog wasnt in great condition. He kindly recommended a specialty office to help my dog with a specific problem. Will probably go back again but might request a more positive Dr. Both the Dr and staff were good with my dogs and they calmed down while waiting and being examined - no muzzles were needed fortunately! Thank you Agua Fria.

I felt a lump on one of my 3 yr old cats, and after reviewing hundreds of on-line comments, chose Agua Fria. If "perfect" is possible, they are! From the front desk, to the techs, and to both doctors, this place is professional, passionate, compassionate and technically proficient. I had no trouble immediately recognizing, and fully trusting their diagnosis and recommendations. I received a call directly from Dr Duston (an owner!) that night, and after my Marthas surgery, by another doctor a few days later with the results of the biopsy. Look.....of course it made me happy when the results were "no cancer; full recovery", however my opinion and rating would have objectively been the same. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! (I just hope that they can do as well with the littermate sister when she comes in; she is WAY less compliant!)

This is one of the best vet clinics in the Valley. This week one of my older dogs was significantly injured in a dog fight. Agua Fria was able to get my dog right in, evaluate him and best of all, fix him. :) My wife and I were of course somewhat distressed by all of this. Dr. Jeovanny Toribio was the attending vet and he was outstanding. I wouldnt mind having him as my doctor, actually, ;) He inspires confidence, is incredibly professional (as is all the staff) and they have amazingly reasonable rates. Its pretty obvious that unlike some vet clinics, Aqua Fria is in it to heal animals and not as a money-maker preying on distraught owners (and Ive seen a few). If youre in the West Valley, and have a sick or injured animal youll be well served here. All my dogs will going here from now on. I wish I could give them 6 stars.
