My boyfriend and I took in a kitten. She was only a few months old at the time. She was born outside in our back yard. We started to bottle feed with the baby kitten food. She was doing really great. On day 3 of taking care of her she started acting a little off. In the morning she was normal and playful and ate her full bottle of food. She went down for her nap and slept for about 2 hours. When I woke her up to take her potty and play she wasnt acting right. She wasnt really responsive to anything. I was able to get her to go potty but I literally had to hold her up. She couldnt stand on her own and was wobbly. My boyfriend and I took to the closet animal hospital to us. From the house to the clinic she wasnt responding to anything. She was lifeless. We both were very worried and I was crying. When we walked they immediately started helping us with our little kitten Peanut. They took her to the back ASAP. After a while the doctor finally cam in and explained to us that our little baby was very very sick. She told us they could try and help her but ultimately there wasnt anymore they could do for her. The doctor and nurses were very helpful with us. They brought her in the room with us so we could say our goodbyes. They explained everything and anything they could. They let us stay with little Peanut as long as we wanted. They gave us the option of taking her home with us or leaving her there. We wanted to take her home. They put her in a cute little box that we could put some of her toys in with her. And they gave us a little pink heart with a butterfly on it for her. They helped us with making the process of loosing our little baby a lot easier for us. The price was reasonable and they were very understanding. It was sad that we lost our kitten but the Avondale clinic made it easier knowing they did everything they could for her and for us. I would recommend this clinic to anyone and everyone I know. The staff was amazing and very understanding.

I had to take my chinchilla to this vet. I knew i was in for a lot of money considering it was an emergency after hours vet. With small animals like my chinchilla you cant till morning to take them to a regular vet. Now I am a person how has spent thousands of dollars in medical bills for my dog so money to me no object. If you love your pet enough you wont compain how much it cost to make them better. But this emergency visit was on 9-19-2010. I called ahead let them know i was on the way. They took her right away. They were waiting for her. She was have seizures. They got her body stable after an hour. Its was just had because they just couldnt stop the seizures. The medication they wanted to try "I" i made the choice not to be from working at a vets office in the past i know how strong this medication was and knew that it could stop it but i also knew with how close and how many seixures she had in four hours span 15 min apart that I just wouldnt get my chinchilla back. There would be to much neurolgical damage. They did call a specialist to get his help and opinion, I asked them who they called and its one of the vets in Mesa that i had gotton my rabbit srayed at. I knew she was in good hands and i knew i made the right decision. So please these other storys that say how much they spent and that these vets dont care are lies. These people who work these emergency clinics for our pets after hours really dont have to work these late night shifts. So be thankful they are there to help. The vet that saw my chinchilla was so very sweet and very careing. When we went home she called us and kept us updated. I will if i ever have another emergency I will return to them.

Our experience with Avondale EAC was great from start to finish. All the staff was kind and compassionate and really made us feel that they would take good care of our cat, Babu. He had a urethra obstruction which is an acute, serious condition that can be fatal if not treated immediately. The vet, Dr. Zuvers, told us he would need immediate treatment and would then have to be kept "hospitalized" for 3 days. The estimate was definitely high, which I expected - when has vet treatment ever been less than expensive?! However, Dr. Zuvers told us that in the morning we should check with our vet to see if they could take Babu thus reducing the cost of "hospitalization". He did not have to tell us that. We would not have known that we had the option to transfer Babu once treatment had been started. The vet technician who took care of Babu was also excellent. I am sorry I do not remember her name, but she was wonderful. She stayed back in the morning (she was off the clock) just to make sure she was around to answer our questions. She did not rush us, and we only found out she was off the clock when we commented to the receptionist how great she was. Additionally, when we checked Babu out in the morning, we were refunded $565 of the $1738 we had paid the night before. There had been some things they had not needed to do, hence the refund. They did not have to tell us, because, in reality, we would never have known. I would highly recommend EAC if you are in the West Valley and need emergency treatment for your pet. They were just great.

We took our dog Niko there following some pretty extreme lethargy, diarrhea, and vomiting. The girl at the front desk, the tech, and the doctor were all very friendly and accommodating, despite waiting, overall, for over five hours. Based on bloodwork results, the vet suggested m dog possibly was in advanced renal failure. They gave him a "poor" prognosis,. They suggested he be admitted, have an ultrasound, ad other tests. I was devastated, but was reluctant to follow through without my personal vet seeing him. The next day, he did. He showed me discrepancies on the bloodwork, and prescribed an antibiotic, based on bloodwork results. I asked if an infection could be causing his issues because his white counts were so high, and I felt they just dismissed me and my suggestion. Its just under a month later, and Niko hasnt looked this great in many months. He finished a round of antibiotics, and I made some changes to his food. He has more energy than hes had in probably a year, his coat is silky smooth and shiny, and his affect has improved dramatically. I understand that they were basing their diagnosis on bloodwork results only, but to suggest he was essentially terminal, with a "poor" prognosis was obviously a little premature, and a little bit devastating to me. Again, I thank them for their assistance, and everyone was so nice, but I really feel they jumped the gun on suggesting he was Dead Dog Walking.

My Standard Poodle Beau had not been feeling well and we had seen my regular vet the day before. He did not seem "right" and being the over protective Mom I called Emergency Animal Clinic. They were very nice over the phone and I told them I was on my way. When I arrived the receptionist was very nice and a vet tech came right out to take him in the back. What seemed like forever, they showed me to the exam room and the Vet and I talked about everything that was going on with Beau. They had done an exam on him and as I spoke to the Vet, she explained that some of the medicine that he was on would create the reaction that I was seeing. She really took her time and explained everything make sure that I understood what was going on. I was very impressed that she took that much time as I am sure there where other animals that needed her attention. When we where done, they brought Beau out to me and of course everyone fell in love with his gentle demeanor, even if he was not himself that day. With my mind at ease we left and what I really appreciated is the follow up with the emails and also they faxed over the medical records for that days visit to my vet. Since then I have told everyone about my wonderful experience and make sure they know where Emergency Animal Clinic is located, in case they ever need to go with their pet. If you are reading this review, trust me, your pet could not be in better hands!
