Ive been on/off with Surprise and usually go with White Tanks (which I also really like), but when White Tanks couldnt get me in when it seemed urgent, Surprise had me head over no problem. They were very good about working with me and getting me in last minute and staying later with me as well - Ive seen Dr Westerweel and Dr DeKing, both of which I really like. I had previous experience with Dr Westerweel at White Tanks so it was comforting to see her again. My pet passed away suddenly after being in/out for 2 days at Surprise Animal Hospital, I had no idea the extent of her heart failure, test were run, xrays, and meds - both drs were very upfront about the prognosis but also stayed positive and tried to help as much as they could with what was going on. Wednesday night Dr DeKing said, "I just want you to know that she could pass away tonight, but she could also pull through and live another 2 years" - she was right, and our dog did pass away within 10 mins of getting home. I was really impressed with how upfront and honest both Drs were, I liked how DeKing was trying to understand my work schedule so she could give me pointers on when to give her medicine, and also telling me to just "swing on by" even though its later in the afternoon close to closing. So while our circumstance was not ideal and very sad, the experience looking back was actually more than I expected and Im glad I had the chance to give them another try. We will be bringing our pets back here again - The hospital also sent our family flowers after our dog passed which was a very nice gesture and it meant a lot to our family.

We brought our cat to this vet and our cat seemed to be really sick and they diagnosed her and everything was fine and we thought we loved this vets office on the first visit. Then our dogs got sick we had two puppies both with the same symptoms both were having diarrhea with blood in their stool. We made an appointment for a one but we thought maybe we could bring both in and if they had another opening we could have him checked out as well. When we got to the appointment last night they stated that only one can be checked we tested for multiple things. Then the test came back that our dog had a parasite. They said the meds were going to be almost $80 for the one puppy. After calling back to see if we could get the same meds for the other dog thats sick they stated no they needed to charger full visit for him plus a full testing on him. We called back multiple times and ask them to speak to a manager to see if we could just bring in the feces and have that tested and then pay for the meds and they stated no they needed to charge for a visit. Makes no sense why two dogs have the same symptoms and if this was a a more personal vet that cares that you would think that they would have said no charge for a visit and since they both had the same symptoms that they would have at least given a discount for having them tested like a multi-family discount period but no they just want our money. I would never recommend this facility and Im starting to look for a new vets office.

My experience with Surprise Animal Hospital has been stellar. My encounter with them started in March of 2014 when I brought my very ill 13 year old Jack Russell in to Dr. Stastny. She worked with me to find a treatment course that was best for my dog and my wallet. I was able to set up a payment plan and have my credit card billed automatically until I was paid in full. Unfortunately, my story didnt end well with my beloved family member. When that time came, the entire staff was incredible. From the receptionist who put us into a room immediately, to the young lady who processed our payment, everyone was kind, compassionate and very attentive. Dr. Stastny stayed with us and talked us through each step as we said goodbye. We spent as much time as we needed to with our girl and left knowing shed be handled with the same love she had always known. We left with a beautiful paw print & poem to cherish. It wasnt a surprise when they followed up the next day with a lovely card and bouquet sharing in our sympathy. This may be an animal hospital but the top notch care is for the whole family.

We have been taking our two dogs here for almost one year. I have seen Dr. Nelson and Dr. Marshall. I really liked Dr. Nelson. She had a good bedside manner, and explained things very well. Dr. Marshall seemed knowledgeable, but didnt really seem interested in my dogs. The front desk has made several mistakes on billing, and are very unorganized at check out. They are friendly, just unorganized. Also, we feel as though they are more interested in making money than giving our dogs the best care. Their prices are quite high and they always charge us two office visits with both dogs there at the same time, even though Im quite sure it takes far less time than two separate visits. They have good hours, which makes for easy scheduling and convenient. The office is always very clean as well. Basically, I just dont get a "warm fuzzy" from the people working here. Its not a bad clinic, and if I need weekend hours I will probably take them there, but I think I am going to look for a new vet clinic.

I have been bringing my boxers to see Dr. Leigh Ann Stanstny for about 10 years. All of my dogs would get so excited to see her that they would jump out of the truck and run to the hospital door! About 1 year ago Dr. Stanstny relocated to the Surprise Animal Hospital and of course we followed her. This office is fantastic! The staff there is so friendly to the animals that sometimes we have to ask for our pets back so we can go into the exam room. Recently we lost both of our boxers. We had to put Doaner down and Dr. Stanstny cried right along with me. She truly cares. Bryzie passed during the night at an emergency hospital. I asked Dr. Stanstny to go over his records from that night with me. She spent an hour with me and explained what had happened to my beloved pet. I felt no rush to leave. She wanted to make sure that all of my questions were answered. We have 2 new puppies and I wouldnt take them anywhere else!

I am very happy with the service. they treated my dog as if he was there own. I called at the end of the day because my dog wasnt himself at all and I didnt have an appointment. They told me to bring him in anyway to see if he is at lease stable. When I got there the nurse took him back right away. She said he is stable that as soon as they can they will check him. Within a half hour if that she took him back again to do blood work along with xrays and found out he was bleeding internally. the doctors were real helpful as to what I should do. They gave me options. She said the best one would be to take him to Vet Med and have them look at him. They were more prepared for dealing with the cancer and removing it from the spleen. I again am glad and very thankful for having a place that cares for my dog as much as I do.
