I am a customer of Quail Pointe Veterinary Clilnic. I have have had close to twenty dogs in my lifetime and my share of Veterinarians and clinics. Quail Pointe Clinic is, and has been by far the most efficient and professional of them all. I recently adopted an English Bull Terrier from an animal rescue organization. I have loved this dog breed since I was a child and was excited to be able to have one for just an adoption fee. The rescue organization is staffed by enthusiastic people that unfortunately dont have the proper medical training to claim the things that they do. Personally I feel that we often boast of knowledge that we dont have because were embarrassed about our own ignorance. When I got Scout to the clinic, as always I was greeted by a great staff who were happy to see and and kind and caring toward my new pet. Since I only knew what the rescue organization had told me, I requested that the Dr. do a good overall exam. The Doctor was full of surprises for me! Scout was approximately 8 years old, not 5 as the rescue group had told me. He had 7 or 8 teeth that needed to be pulled as quickly as possible, because his blood work showed a mild infection, and they deduced it was because of his oral problem that this existed. He also suffered from severe arthritis, which really surprised me because at the adoption he had been quite playful and able to jump into the back of my vehicle. I realized later that the adoption group must have given him a pain medication that day. During the exam, the Quail Pointe team also found that Scout had a widespread yeast infection that manifested itself as large rough patches on his legs where he laid on them . Each of his paws between the pads was also highly infected with the yeast problem and where actually bleeding in places. I hadnt noticed this at the time of adoption and if the rescue group knew about it, they did not mention it. So I was presented with a bit of an overwhelming group of problems, just from the external exam and blood work. The staff at Quail Pointe could easily see my distress and quickly reassured me that each problem was treatable and although in the case of the arthritis, not curable, at least manageable. At that point, the Doctor discussed the options I had in treating Scout and even included in her discussion the negatives that would make life with Scout tough. I appreciated this more than anything else, because it gave me the information I needed to make good solid decisions as to whether I wanted keep Scout or put him down. Never once was I pressured into a line of action. I was given the information and my choices and also a scenario of each of those choices and what I could expect. I have been a customer of the Quail Pointe clinic for my other dogs, but the treatment and respect I was shown throughout the entire visit, has cemented my loyalty to the clinic and the good doctors. I have been in the medical field myself for decades and although it hasnt been in the veterinary field, there are many similarities. People consider there pets family, most until it comes time to pay for medical treatment, and then they think it should be next to nothing. Or they claim that they know more than the Doctor who has dedicated years of their lives studying and learning to be qualified to do what they do. I have seen it in my own profession. Most unhappiness or dissatisfaction of a situation comes from misunderstanding some component of the situation. And, in all honesty, sometimes mistakes are made. Some customers react in a negative manner and those people are the most likely to want everyone to know of their unhappiness or supposed grievance. In my own experience with them Quail Pointe Veterinary Clinic is a professional and honest business and will redress any issue and do what is necessary and right. Just try finding that situation in most businesses today. Quail Pointe Veterinary Clinic is a modern first rate facility filled with educated and helpful staff run by professional and competent Veterinarians.

I needed to board my golden retriever over the weekend while going out of state. I called three weeks in advance, and called many different clinics/boarding facilities, looking for a boarder that does not require a kennel cough vaccine. My sisters dog had a severe reaction to kennel cough vaccine, and I wanted to avoid the vaccine if possible. The receptionist at Quail Pointe informed me the only vaccination they required was for rabies, NOT for kennel cough. I even told her that all of the other places I had called required the kennel cough vaccine, so I was so happy their facility didnt. She said, "Yes, we only require rabies. Just bring in your proof of rabies." So, three weeks later, at 8am the morning we are leaving for a 900 mile trip (and my dog is VERY prone to car sickness, and hates to travel), my Bella and I show up at Quail Pointe, only to be literally laughed at by a blonde young woman at the counter, and told, "We dont know of ANY place that will accept a dog for boarding without kennel cough vaccinations." She said they would have to give my dog the vaccination if I wanted her to stay there. She was extremely rude and condescending, treating me like I was absolutely stupid. She then proceeded to tell me she needed all of my dogs medical history paperwork for proof of vaccines, and she said they could do the kennel cough vaccine after I left for my trip. I had to go back home to get the paperwork, which she said was insufficient. She then said that it would be $125 for an exam and kennel cough vaccine for my dog, who I JUST had taken to my own vet for her yearly checkup and rabies vaccine a month prior (and had the written verifications/bills from that visit with me). She said that Quail Pointe does not give vaccines without a full exam, period. I sincerely feel that I was misinformed by this clinic, and that they knew that my options were very limited at the time I came to drop Bella off. I will never, ever recommend this clinic to anyone. As a side note, my dog did NOT stay at the clinics boarding facility that weekend. She hopped right in the car with me. She did throw up twice during the trip, but once we had gone about 200 miles, and with frequent stops, she began enjoying herself. We had a great time. So, even though we were treated extremely poorly by QPVH, I am glad that I was forced to take Bella on the trip, because now I know she is a traveling companion after all.

This place is terrible. Every time Ive been here they have been rude, and the cost is outrageous. The first time I went in they gave my dog steroids for boils that were popping up everywhere. Come to find out it was a staph infection. Steroids weaken the bodies immune system, so he got much worse. They still charged me for it too. I told them I thought it was a staph infection when they first examined him and they told me "Well youre not a doctor. Not everything you read on the internet is correct." This recent visit I brought my dog in because the skin around his eyes and nose started to swell and blister. It looked like a allergic reaction but there was discharge so I thought it could also be staph again. We had given him 6 mg of Benadryl (half the recommended dose) the night before to see if it would help. It did a little, but we wanted to make sure it wasnt some sort of infection. All I wanted them to do is test the puss and give me the opinion on what it was. The doctor yelled at my mom for giving our dog something without consulting a vet because "You dont know if its harmful to your dog", but we were told by a different vet that it was safe at 1 mg/lb. The kicker is that didnt even test the discharge and prescribe him Benadryl anyways. Sorry this is a long story, but I feel its necessary to give people a better Idea of why this place is terrible. I feel like this vet does unnecessary expensive test and give unnecessary expensive meds so when they dont work you have to comeback and pay them again to get the right inexpensive test and inexpensive meds. Im never taking my pets here again.
