We have been going to Dreaming Summit Animal Hospital since Doc Hillebrand opened his own practice I believe 11 plus years ago. We have always gotten the best professional treatment and respect from the doctors. Has it been perfect with vet techs or front office staff? Not always. Please remember that the support staff work their tails (no pun intended) off too. They deal with very distraught people who are very worried about their fur babies, very stressful situations that weve all gone through. None of us are 100% on everyday. We do have bad moments and sometimes they are expressed to the paying customer when they shouldnt be.Your first impression of any business is when you walk through their door and are dealt with at the reception desk. That first impression can make or break businesses. Not here. I have run into a few issues with the staff, but as an adult, I talked (not yelled or screamed) to Dr. H. himself about the problems. He listened and he did do what he felt he needed to do to correct the issues. He also thanked me for bringing it to his attention. Remember, the doctors are in the back and dont always know what is being said or implied in the front area unless you talk to them and let them know (and do talk to them, do not send a message through the other staff). We expect them to act professionally with us and our babies, so we need to act professionally with them. Any problems or concerns you have, please talk to Dr. H. Heres one of many examples of them working with me. They all worked very closely and tirelessly with me when my cocker Brandi was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was told she had 3-6 months to live. That news just killed me. After many consultations, gathering information, discussing options, spending lots of time through visits, messages and emails, the treatment plan we all came up with extended her life from months to 3 years, 3 very precious and special years I got to spend with her. Many other clinics would not have taken the time, consideration, or research to see what we could do as Dreaming Summit did. She passed away in my arms at home. Doc H. was on vacation, but when I called, I told Jennifer and Stephanie that I wanted them there when I brought her in to help me through the goodbyes. They set a time when no one else was there so I able to come in with her and spend the amount of time I needed to say goodbye. That process was handled not only professionally, but with the care, grace and dignity that I know is not out there with a lot of clinics. We have had to have 4 fur babies put down and again Dr. H. and the staff exhibited all the care, professionalism, dignity and tenderness in handling a family grieving the loss of their loved ones. I can not recommend Dreaming Summit Animal Hospital highly enough. Have they had some rough days...some staff issues...yes, but what business hasnt. Its what that business does in handling those issues that makes or breaks them. Its their integrity, heart and of the owners, the Hillebrands that makes their business. Give them a try. They have a heart of gold and do treat your pets as family.

What happened to animal hospitals looking out for the ANIMAL and not the MONEY? My dog Bruce has been suffering since December. Dry coat, cracked dry paw pads, fur loss, decreases appetite. I went to two different vets and a dermatologist for dogs. Ive spent at least $1,000 easy trying to help him and figure out a path to help him. The struggle still continues. After Camelwest animal hospital dragged there feet for weeks with Bruce I went to Dreaming Summit for help. I LOVED the vet, she was great! I have no issue with the quality of care she gave him. She recommended me to see a dermatologist and we did a bunch of tests on him too. Anyone who owns an animal that is sick you know you spend TONS of money. Which is fine, I would do it for my dog. So this is the problem. After all the vet visits, I am on a path to help my dog feeling a little better. However I have constantly had issues with his nails! They are brittle and his paws are uncomfortable. EVERY vet visit I had, camelwest, dreaming summit AND dermatologist they made an excuse for not helping me cut his nails. I told them, listen please his nails are getting long can you show me how to cut them? Nope. Nope Nope. Always an excuse. We are under staffed, oh just leave them alone for now, maybe next visit..... Umm okay? Really? So I let it go, and bought my own dog nail clipper. I attempted to cut this week but I was not comfortable doing it and the old man was not havin it. I need help!!! So I called dreaming summit. They told me sure we can cut his nails but you need a wellness check up too and your total will be $72. What? Hes been to the vet like 10 times in the last 3 months! What is going to be different? NOTHING! The lady on the phone wouldnt budge, I needed the exam or no nails clipped. I was sad and angry. Told her to cancel my appointment and Id take him to a groomer. Which I have not setup yet, maybe I will try again myself. Was hoping the vet could just help out but thats not how things work these days. Its all about the money. I see someone has a similar review as I did about their poodle. Its a shame. There really should be some exceptions to these rules. Disappointing and disheartening.

My animals and I have been coming to Dreaming Summit Animal Hospital for over six years now. The Doctors and staff are fantastic, very skilled in their work, professional and are willing to address any questions or concerns that I have. I never feel rushed during my appointments and I feel like the care they provide my animals is of the utmost quality. They are always accomidating when it comes to appointments and procedures (this is a must when you are bringing in 5 animals at once!). I have seen many other vets in those six years, as I do not live in the West Valley any longer and none seem to meet the level of care that DSAH provides. In fact, I had been seeing a vet on my side of town in Scottsdale and they had taken little to no time to actually examine the animals or address my issues. I felt like we were just another patient to them and my concerns were overlooked. When I returned to DSAH- deciding I would remain loyal despite the distance, Dr. Hillebrand discovered one of my cats had a heart murmur which had not been identified before turning out to be a genetic disorder of an enlarged heart. Due to his attentiveness as a doctor and care taken he was able to refer me to an outstanding cardiologist and essentially saved my babys life. I can say nothing but praise for the individuals at DSAH, as they have always been attentive to my needs, provided excellent care for my animals and been a reliable clinic that I will remain loyal to for years to come!

I have had such a great experiences at this location with both my dogs. The first time was with a rescue dog that I didnt have a lot of information and they were able to help me understand more about her breed(s) and help her with her strained ankle and put her on a wellness plan that proved to be 100% effective for her. She is doing awesome and LOVES to go back for check ups and kiss the Dr. !! The second, wasnt as happy as I had an older dog that had to be put down due to old age issues and safety concerns. The staff and the Doctor couldnt have been nicer and more professional in handling the emotional situation for myself and my family. They even followed up with a card a couple of weeks later.... Wow. Today, with just a call, they eased a concern of mine over the phone with my little girl dog. Gave me a direction to follow and then told me to give them a call tomorrow if I still felt concern. Again, wow. Far cry from how Ive been treated in the past..let alone that the offices are clean and the exam rooms are sanitary and are cleaned before each patient. They are not in such a hurry to rush you in and out to collect the money. They spend time with you to make sure that you know the situation, the directions and all of your options. You are the one in control and you make the informed decision. Thank you and you staff for such a great experience!
