The staff at Fort Hunt Animal Hospital was the nicest veterinary staff I have ever met. When my cat got a urinary infection, one of my moms friends told her about this place. I knew this place would be good when I called and the person who made the appointment was very friendly and helpful. My cat has had a history of urinary infections. Other vets that I had been to simply looked at my cat and charged me 900+ dollars for procedures and medication. The veteranarian here looked at my cat, and carefully explained to me what the problem was by showing us a chart of a cats urinary tract. Because of this, I knew exactly what my cats problem was and had a better idea of how to prevent it in the future. At the end of the visit, I was grateful to know that my cat did not end up having an unecesarry and expensive procedure. I ended up paying only about $250 for medication and food; which was about a quarter of what I had paid at other vets for the same problem My visit here was a very pleasant one. The vet and the vet techs were very friendly, and I could tell my cat was comfortable as well.

I recently went to this place because they participated in the reduced cost spay program. They do their billing a little backwards, but took their time in explaing it to me since I was so thick to understand; They took great care of my dog, and the doctor took her time in explaining the surgery and what to expect afterwards. I am using them as my routine vet from now on.

Called here for 2nd opinion for a sick cat, and they were able to see me same day! Dr Barker (yes, her real name) listened to me and my cat, and she is currently doing much better. Received not only 1, but 2, follow up phone calls on her progress. Just found my new vet home for all my pets.

We take our two cats and our dog to FHAH and have always had great service. They really love the pets and always remember them when we bring them in. The vets and techs have always handled our pets with great care and we dont hesitate to take them in when needed.

I am a foster mom for King Street Cats and the shelter and Fort Hunt have a relationship. I do not have any other experience with vets, but everyone at this place is always nice and helpful. The waiting area is clean and there are even cats in residence!

The worst place to take you pets. They had a outbreak of kennel cough this past year. If you love your pets go somewhere else.
