I have been taking my pets to Indianhead Animal Hospital since 1989; we go back to when Dr. Eric & Andy were the primary vets. Indianhead Animal Hospital has a wonderful, loving practice; they will definitely make you feel like you and your pet are part of one big family; youre not just an account number to them. We currently have a 15 year old Mini Schnauzer and a 3 year old Golden mix with very different health needs and personalities. They greet your pet as if they were one of their own and they are very attentive to both the owners and the pets needs and concerns. We have lost two golden retrievers to cancer; one was 9 years old and the other 7 years old, asymptomatic and died unexpectedly in our home. The sensitivity and care that they showed us during this very stressful time for our family was amazing. They allowed us to sit with our deceased pet and take as much as we needed to say goodbye. We were also able to consult with them when we were ready to think about getting a new pet for our family. The office staff is competent and efficient; it sometimes gets a little hectic taking the pets back to the office because the hallway that leads to the exam rooms is a little tight but thats not a big deal to me. They get you in and out pretty quickly but the visits are not rushed; I have rarely had to wait longer than 20 minutes and I am usually in and out in about 40-45 minutes (including the wait). I have always been able to get an appointment fairly quickly (2-3 days); when my dogs have been really sick I have been seen on the same day. All of the vets are wonderful, but my personal favorites are Drs. Young and Chesley. Indianhead is a little on the expensive side but their wonderful "pet-side" manner and the quality of the care they provide makes it worth it. We once took our pets to a pet chain store for shots because it was less expensive; Ill never do that again because there was just no comparison with the quality of care. Take your pet to Indianhead Animal Hospital - its worth every penny!

My family started going here in 1968. I have brought my animals there for over 30 years. They did all the grooming for my Moms dog. I needed to get my cat groomed, so I took him in. I am very disappointed. They did an exam and shoots so he could be sedated. I picked him up and he stinks (perfume, I am allergic). Noticed they trimmed his fur around his ears and face, he looks funny. I brought him because his fur was starting to matt. I figured they would brush him really well and shave matts where necessary. Do not understand why they cut his fur around his face. Got him home and tail did not look brushed. Ran my "furmentor" through his tail, he has a ton of fur on him. They did not brush him throughly. That loose fur is what causes the matting !!! So now I will spend days brushing him out to prevent more matts. I thought I paid them for that. Never any problems with the medical care. Update : The perfume is still with him (next day). One of my other cats starts sneezing every time he gets close to him. So not only did it bother my allergies, one of my other cats is now avoiding him. I have had a sinus headache since he got home. So its very hard for me to have him near me and his buddy is keeping away from him. Have no idea how long this will last. Have call to talk with vet when they return tomorrow.

The doctors and staff at Indian Head Hospital provide the best possible care for my dogs. They are kind, caring and compassionate and I recommend them to everyone I know. Their prices are reasonable, their hours of operation are flexible, and they have a very nice atmosphere in the office. The receptionists are all very friendly and helpful. The doctors are fantastic and have helped my dogs in so many ways throughout the years---from regular check-ups to emergency surgery to cancer treatments. I would not go anywhere else, I know that my dogs receive the best possible care at IHAH.

First time I had to take my four legged child to the hospital was when I noticed my furry child (Montias) had purple spots/blotches over his entire body. Dr. Stacie, was very patient and understanding, she ran several test and monitored him very closely for a few months. He was placed on medication and has made a full recovery. Im now able to schedule him for his annual shots thanks to Dr. Stacie and staff. The staff in very companionate, very professional and understands how we truly love or fury children. Thanks Indian Head Staff.... V/r, CW

My dogs are my children and I have high expectations of their medical care because they are so important to me. IHAH meets my expectations and then some. I have been going there for several years now. I feel like they care about my dogs almost as much as I do. They are very patient with all my questions and concerns and do not try to nickel and dime me for things. If they suggest a certain treatment and dont provide you alternatives, theres a reason. My old mens safety and health are always the priority. Highly recommend them.

We have been taking our cats to Indian Head Animal Hospital for over twenty years. The staff at Indian Head is friendly and helpful. They answer minor questions on the phone regarding my cats health and behavior when I cant come in. The building is always clean, even with dozens of animals coming in and out each day. The wait can sometimes take a little while, but they always let you know if they are running behind. I moved from MD to VA, but I continue to take my cats there for care. I trust them completely.

My family has taken our pets to this animal hospital for 30+ years. The staff is consistently kind, caring, and attentive to our pets whether we come for a wellness or sick appointment. The vets provide a variety of diagnostic services and have the equipment and expertise to treat the health complications that our pets have had. I would not think of going anywhere else for our pets needs, even though, we now live in Anne Arundel County!

I have been going here for years. First with my two cats and now with my goldendoodle puppy. The staff have always been friendly and caring. All staff are willing to spend time answering your questions. Dr. Camille Lewis-Chesley is wonderful. Very patient with new furbaby Moms. She fully explains all procedures, discusses options/alternatives, etc. I highly recommend.

I took my cat there for grooming and had a horrible experience. He was poorly trimmed. The hair around his head was cut in a very jagged manner. The whiskers on one side of his face were cut and there is little to no symmetry to the shape cut on his paws. I am very dissatisfied with the results and will never take my cat to this vet again.
