I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Animal Clinic of Anacostia. In fact, Im ecstatic that I have finally found a place that doesnt rip me off. As an owner of a 4 year old Yorkie and most recently a cat, I have always hated going to the vet because I know I would spend at least $200 to $300 dollars. Before I decided to try Animal Clinic of Anacostia, I called 5 other vets for price quotes on wellness exam, bordatella shot, heartworm test. Every estimate I got was $200 to $230. I was so shocked when I called the Animal Clinic of Anacostia and the price was $112. I was so shocked that I had to ask the receptionist again just to make sure I heard her right. The prices at this clinic are very competitive. The price isnt the only thing to brag about, the service is wonderful. I probably lucked up because I went on Friday afternoon close to 6pm (the clinic takes their last walk in at 6:15pm); but there was only one person in front of me. I didnt have to wait over 20 minutes. Dr. Ashley was very attentive to my dog and seemed very interested in his health. She didnt try to sell me anything that I didnt need and I could tell that shes a very honest, caring person. I will definitely bring my animals there for all their health needs. If you go, just be sure you call ahead to find out what the hours are. They do have a website, but the clinic hours are not listed. Plus they do not take appointments unless its surgery I think, so you may want to call ahead anyway to see how busy they are before you come in.

Skilled, Compassionate, Affordable Care! Took my dear cat Jada (weve been together 11 years) to Dr. Ashley yesterday because her little face was swollen and it looked like a tooth abscess. I was very worried, and wondered how I would be able to afford whatever care she needed. Dr Ashley examined Jada (two other staff were there too) with such gentle and skilled attention, and told me its not an abscess, its a cancer tumor. I asked it that meant it was time to put Jada down (I was crying, not expecting this) Dr. A said we could do it today if I wanted and then asked if Jada was still eating (she is) and said that, as long as she was eating and in no pain, there was no need to rush things, depending on what I could handle at home. She said it could be a matter of days or weeks before she will just stop eating and then it will be time for her to pass on. The other two staff people also offered comforting comments and observations. I cant say enough about Animal Clinic of Anacostia. They were so skilled and gentle and compassionate at a very difficult time. Even Jada was peaceful during the exam. And the clinic is very affordable. $50 for the initial exam. And theres parking right across the street. A wonderful DC resource for animal lovers!

This place is a terrific place to get your furry pals treated for any ailments. They have walk in hours in the morning and afternoon, which is really convenient for those things that happen unexpectedly, but arent true emergencies. The staff were all super friendly and very competent. The vet is wonderful and has been practicing in the area since the 70s. The price I paid was quite good. I intend on going back for all my veterinary needs. You cant go wrong here. When I showed up, there was ample street parking available too.

I have two cats and two dogs and they all go to the anacostia animal clinics. I found the clinic to be in a convenient place and the people their are very friendly to animals. I am comfortable when I take my pets there knowing that they will get the very best care at a reasonable price. I love Dr. Ashley and I do not know her personally but she and her staff are wonderful people who love animals. I know that my extended family will get exceptional service when I visit her office.

Love,Love, Love, Dr. Ashely and her staff!!!!. Ive been a dog owner forever ,although I havent lived in S.E. for many years now. Ill ALWAYS take the trip back to the old neighborhood for her to service and look after my babies!!! Great bedside manner with the animals, always reasonable prices ,never price gouging to where you have to mortgage your home to help your loved pet! Ive been going to Dr. Ashley for about almost 40yrs. From childhood to adulthood she and her staff have taken great care of all my pets. True indeed she will never try and rip you off. I found the people there to be the most truly caring not just about the money, but understanding the bond and love between owners and their pets. They would never send you away. They are affordable. Most places had me in tears and scared that I might lose my pet no money no help. This doctor worked with you. She may not have a beautiful designed office but she truly has a beautiful heart
