I do not think it would be possible for me to more highly recommend this practice for pediatric dental care. My three children (all under age 6) are patients of Dr. Stump and we could not be more impressed by the quality of care and attention to detail from him and his entire staff. Our initial visits were because one of our children required extensive dental care. We had originally been recommended to another pediatric practice in town, but were unable to have the work completed successfully after multiple attempts. We were not happy and decided to look for another practice. Many sources directed us to Chville Pediatric Dentistry and we havent looked back. Dr. Stump and his staff were very patient and understanding through the entire length of the procedures. All options were explained and questions were always answered fully before any work was done. In addition, we have been continually impressed at how this practice is geared 100% towards the needs and attention span of children (as it should be). There are many games and activities in the waiting room to occupy your child while you wait, yet everything always looks very clean. Once youre taken back, the hygienists and dentists do everything (including singing and reciting childrens movies) to keep your child happily distracted during the exam. All in all, I could give no higher recommendation for a pediatric dental practice!

We have been bringing our three children (now a five, three and one year old) to Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry since my oldest was two years old. Dr. Dixon and her staff have worked great with the kids even with my son (the five year old) having some anxiety about going to the dentist. She is always very friendly, calming and they love hearing her singing songs to help them relax. When my son needed to have some cavities filled, we first thought we would need to completely sedate him because of his past fears but I was concerned that he may be over sensitive to the sedation medications. After discussing all the options with Dr. Dixon we decided to see how he did with just nitrous oxide. The staff were great getting everything set up so he would be comfortable in the chair watching his movie with head phones and he barely seemed to notice that they were working on him. They also used very child friendly words to describe what was happening. He was so calmed and had no fears so that we were able to get both the lower and upper quadrants worked on, saving us a second visit for fillings. Dr. Dixon really connects with parents because she understands the concerns that we all have for our little ones and she is always looking out for them.

My son needed extensive dental work and I was told Dr. Dixon was THE best in town! I agree with that sentiment however, her billing staff left little to be desired! I have exceptional dental coverage and was shocked to find out I would need to pay $600.00! I immediatly called my insurance carrier and after 3 days of back and fourth between my insurance company and the office it was determined to be HALF the cost of what I was told. I am certain I never would have seen a refund had I paid the initial quote. What a mess!! Had I not been referred to Dr. Dixon to begin with we would have gone somewhere else. Then wouldnt you know just 1 day after posting my initial review I get a phone call from the Billing Department stating that since I had written the review and found the billing practices to be so unfavorable "we", are not a good fit for the practice and that they had cancelled my sons appointment for dental work and would be refunding my deposit. Where would I like his records sent? Guess people do read reviews afterall.

Dr. Jennifer Dixon is an amazing pediatric dentist! I could not ask for more for my three young children. Our first experience with Dr. Dixon was when my oldest was two and he chipped his front tooth (about 1/3 of the total tooth) on a swimming pool. Dr. Dixon fixed his front tooth. She was warm, caring and thorough. She has video screens to keep the kids distracted and even sings to them when she brushes their teeth! When our oldest expressed some anxiety about his visit, she personally cared for him. Her office staff is equally kind and caring and her office environment is quiet, calm and very child friendly. Honestly, sometimes getting children to cooperate in the chair (as in life) means being firm, but I have never heard her (with my kids or others), be mean or unkind. In the four years we have worked with her we have never had anything but a superior experience. Our boys truly love her! If you havent seen her yet, I would highly recommend checking out the practice!

I just took my 14-month-old son to see Dr. Dixon for his first dentist visit. The entire staff - reception, the dental technician who saw my son, and Dr. Dixon - were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Dr. Dixon and the dental tech were so good with my son and explained everything to me thoroughly. The office is also quite kid-friendly, decorated with bright colors and having lots of toys around for my son to play with. The staff understands typical behavior of children and were understanding. When my son started to wander around the reception area, the staff assured me that it was fine for him to do so. I also liked that there were visual and audio distractions for children like the movie playing in the reception area and the screen for playing cartoons that was placed over the chair in the exam room - very good ideas. I highly recommend taking your child to this practice.

I am a mother of two and a physician, myself. Both my 2 and 4 year-olds have been to see Dr. Dixon on several occasions. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this doctor. Clincially, she is the most talented dentist that I have come in contact with. Personally, she is a positive, fun, and energetic woman who exudes warmth and has a great talent with children. She sings as she examines them; tells jokes as she cleans teeth; and her office is a dream for children--fish tanks, developmental toys, television. The office is clean, modern, and clearly about making the patients feel comforrable. The entire staff was genuine, welcoming, and well-run. I have been overjoyed with our care and recommend Dr. Dixon to every person I know with children. All of my physician friends take their children to her and have been equally thrilled with her care and services.

I have three little boys and we just had another fantastic visit with Dr. Dixon. After a terrible experience elsewhere with my 1st child, I found Dr. Dixons practice and I immediately felt like the heavens had opened up. She was and still is everything I could ask for: compassionate, a great listener, understands the mothers point of view, low intervention and of course, knows her trade inside and out. Besides Dr. Dixon, the staff is very warm and good with children as well. They have the best prizes and ways of keeping the children happy during their visit. My kids cant wait to go back. Im not kidding. And my 18 month old is so ready to sit in one of those bright-colored chairs and wear the cool shades! Thanks everyone at CvillePeDO, see you in 6 months!
