I had my first appointment with Family Vision Care at their old location. I had put off going back for 3 years and a large part of that was because the first experience left me very frustrated. I had waited in the waiting area for over an hour before being called back and the whole process took almost 3 hours. I was basically dreading this appointment. I am very happy I gave them a second chance though and left very impressed with their offices and services. I was in the waiting room for maybe 10 minutes before getting called back and was immediately taken to do the preliminary exams. Waiting for the doctor took 5-10 minutes and he even apologized for the wait! Not only was the whole process streamlined and efficient, I felt like the doctor (Dr. Michaels) did an amazing job of listening intently to my concerns and taking time with my exam. I also felt like I got a mini lesson in eye anatomy from Dr. Michaels! It was great to actually learn what was going on with my eyes. I am very impressed with the strides they have made since the last time I was in and would definitely recommend them to others. My only complaint is I wish they had more mid-range priced frames instead of just designer brand names.

I have been using Family Vision for years. After my Ophthalmologist retired, I was in search of a new eye professional. Dr. Daylor came highly recommended by friends. From the beginning I found her patient care along with her winning personality to satisfy my needs. When asked by others about her knowledge and professionalism, i tell them that she gets high marks from me! At times, I have needed services from an ophthalmologist or cataract surgeon and it is good to know that Dr. Daylor has a vast network of recommendations and is highly respected in the industry! She has always steered me in the right direction. If you like to understand what is going on with your eyes, she gives great information for the lay person to understand. All the people in the office are very nice and accommodating!

The service by the optometrist was fine; however, the accounting dept has a lot to learn. First I received a bill 6 months later saying that my insurance didnt pay the claim. I finally got information from the office, and when I called the insurance office they indicated an error had been made in processing and that they would re-process the claim. The billing office sent a bill for $100+ and I let them know that the claim was being processed. No customer service by the staff!!!! I was then billed with late fees so I paid the amt, and then received a COB from the insurance company showing that I should have only paid $30-40. The office has NOT YET REFUNDED ME. Calls have been made and not returned. Be wary of using this office.

I had a wonderful experience here. It was not a planned visit. I had seen some frames through the window on my way to lunch at Firehouse Subs. After lunch, I walked in to take a look at the frames. There were so many to choose from...but it wasnt overwhelming. I was offered assistance, but I wanted to just look around at the entire selection. The opticians were fantastic...very helpful, very professional. I had my prescription with me and it was returned to me after the optician made a copy of it. She was delightful and took time helping me decide what types of lenses to choose, etc. When I need another pair of eyeglasses I plan on returning here. I didnt see any of the doctors there, so I cannot rate that.

This was my first appointment at this practice. They were able to get me in within a few days of requesting an appointment. Ive been getting an annual eye exam for 20 years and have never been to a more outstanding practice than this. The office is absolutely beautiful. I received several texts reminding me of my appt. It was very evident that this is a practice that goes the extra mile to stay up with technology. Ive never been to a practice had such up to date tests and equipment. Dr Doyle was really personable. Everyone I encountered was very friendly. I felt like my appointment lasted a long time but wasnt bothered by it in the least bit. I was very impressed and highly recommend this practice!!!

Horrible customer service. Soon as I walked in the girl at the front desk looked at me oddly and asked if I need help and I said no Im just looking at some frames. My sister had been going there for a while and they messed up her exam and refused to give her refund...they lost a valued customer for sure. The entire staff seems very arrogant and stuck up. I just didnt feel comfortable there because everyone seemed to stare and look at me like Im homeless. I didnt understand why...they really need to work on their people skills and how to keep customers if cant make more! I recommend going somewhere unless your seeking a poor customer service experience.

Family Vision Care of Richmond is first class! Dr. Jeff Michaels and his team are very professional and personal. My family unfortunately has a history of adult macular degeneration. Dr. Michaels is working on a study with a group of patients at the Richmond Eye Center who have this eye disease. Dr. Michaels went out of his way to recommend that I start taking a vitamin that could potentially slow down this disease. The vitamin is not something they sell at his office; you can pick it up at a local vitamin shop. I really value this type of advice because I know that Dr. Michaels is really looking out for my benefit.

Four years ago I was having major problems with my contact lenses and when my Optometrist wasnt able to satisfy my need for a sound reason as to why I was having these issues, my wife suggested I go see her eye doctor for a 2nd opinion. I cant tell you how glad I am that I took her advice! Dr. Poling is both personable and knowledgeable; in fact the entire staff is always friendly and welcoming and all do a great job of answering any and all questions. They frequently add new equipment and the new office is both spacious and clean, complete with a kid friendly waiting area. I have and will continue to recommend them to others.

I brought my grandmother here after finding them online. They had such great reviews I went ahead and gave them a try. My grandmother and I are both happy we did. From entering the door to leaving everyone was so friendly. She was really impressed with everything, from registration to all of the various test that was ran on her eyes. Dr. Matsko was so patient and thorough when explaining everything to my grandmother. Not to mention the office is beautifully decorated and so warm and inviting. My grandmother said shes found her new eye doctor. I agree, I think Ive found our new family eye doctor. Well definitely be back!

I have been a patient of Dr. Daylor at Family Vision Care of Richmond for over five years. Recently they worked me in on a Friday afternoon after calling that morning for a problem with one of my eyes. Dr. Daylor was, as usual, very efficient. She made sure I understood what had occurred and what I might expect in the future. Family Vision Care of Richmond carries the most wonderful, expansive display of eye wear to meet your needs, personality and enjoyment. The ladies in this department are hard working, pleasant and accommodating. Its always fun to drop in and take a look at whats NEW in eye wear.
