Ive been a patient at Capital Eye Care since 2011 and the experience has always been adequate. Today, however, I arrived about ten minutes early for what I had been informed would be a 9:40 a.m. appointment. I handed over my new insurance card and completed the requisite form updates with a few minutes to spare before the appointment time. I sat back down to wait, having heard no mention of a delay. At 9:45 another patient was called in to see the doctor. At 10:05, I went to the front desk to ask whether there was any indication of how long a delay this might be, since it was already more than 20 minutes past my appointment time. The woman said somewhat haughtily "You showed up at 9:30 for a 9:45 appointment. Itll be as soon as the doctor is done." I pointed out the discrepancy in appointment times but indicated that even if it were a 9:45 appointment that was still a rather obvious delay. We went back and forth for a bit, with her finally telling me, "Do you get in to see anybody on time? I never do." This statement led to my asking why the office scheduled appointments so poorly and why nobody had bothered to inform me of a delay at the time I arrived. She snapped "What do you want us to do?" At that, I indicated that I could not wait owing to having to be at work, same as everybody else. The woman at the desk further informed me that the patient in the exam room was there for "medical issues, not for an exam," giving me another patients information in the process. By the time I left the office, at 10:10, I still had no indication that I would be getting in and upon being told I would definitely not have to pay for todays then-canceled examination, I determined it made no sense to wait around. I do understand that doctors offices back up and unexpected concerns arise. This does not excuse lack of communication and professionalism on the part of a doctors staff. It concerns me, as a patient, that even a little bit of my information might be leaked to another patient who visits, which is unacceptable. I found it disconcerting that someone elses information was shared with me. I also do not think it would have been much out of the way to say "Oh, by the way, were running behind this morning, by about x minutes." While this is not required of anybody, it is certainly a very small courtesy that someone in charge of scheduling should be able to recognize at the time a patient shows for an appointment. Simply suggesting that the doctor is too important to be on time or that my time is not valuable falls under the categories of "unprofessional" and "rude" in my opinion. A note on my medical service: It has always been adequate to date and both doctors here have done a fine job. My review is largely intended to cover my experience of the office, not the medical care I have received, which I believe to be on par with service expectation.

I was very pleased with my experience at Captial Eye Care. It was easy to get an appointment. I saw Dr. Bergvall. She was wonderful. She took the time to explain everything and was very nice. The last time I went to the eye doctor and got my glasses was as Lens Crafters. It was a horrible experience. They were only interested in trying to sell me the most expensive glasses in the place. Capital Eye was not like that at all. The girl the helped me with my frames did not pressure me to get anything that I did not want. It was really a great experience. I will definitely continue going there for my eye care and glasses.

I havent been to an eye doctor is almost 10 years and so when my vision started to blur I had no idea who to see. I found Dr. Adam Herold listed by my insurance and saw him last week. Dr. Herold was very nice, personable, and explained the examination as we went along, . The doctor and staff are very knowledgeable about eye care and made the process of picking out frames fun. I would highly recommend Capital Eye Care to anyone who is in need of vision care.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Bergvall. She was very attentive, kind, and helpful for my eye care needs. I wear contact lenses and felt that she was able to perform a proper eye care examination and ensure that my contact lenses were working correctly. The office has a friendly, professional environment. Ill definitely return!

The experience was quick, but thorough. The doctor (Jennifer) explained everything well and the staff explained the charges I was paying well. There was also no hidden "contact fitting" fee that Ive experienced in the past. I have every intention to make Capital Eye Car my permanent eye doctor.

Dr Herold is great! I accidently showed up on the wrong day and they squeezed me in! Eyeglass prices were a little steep for the quality and choice so I chose to go somewhere else to purchase but the appointment its self was good!
