I heard about the great service at Urbana Eye Care and I decided to visit the office to receive an eye exam and fitting for new glasses and contacts. I was very impressed with the decor of the office. It was welcoming, clean, neat, and provided an overall comfortable setting. The personnel were courteous and prompt and Dr. Gan was very thorough in his exam and he took the time to insure a precise and proper prescription for my corrective lenses. I was also impressed with the technology the office utilized to assist in eye glass and contact fitting and early detection screening. There was a machine that could actually provide the Doctor with a ball park figure of your lens prescription by scanning your eye!! Wow. This further insures that the Doctor will be very accurate in your prescription. As everyone knows, there are millions of doctors but as everyone also should know, finding a good doctor that you can trust is a difficult task. My trip from Bristow, Va to Urbana, MD and my commitment to go back annually for checkups should tell you how much I value a great doctor and excellent customer service. If you are in need for an eye exam and need glasses or contacts, don’t go to one of those chain places, give Urbana Eye Care a visit; you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent from A to Z! If you are looking for an optometrist with a clean, inviting office, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a thorough doctor, search no more, Urbana Eye Care is the place for you! I recently started wearing corrective glasses and have only been to the office a few times, but each time I go, I am greeted by the friendliest staff (Nicki in particular! She makes you feel like you are a long time friend and is extremely quick to help with whatever is needed. She is very knowledgeable and helpful!!) Dr. Gan provides a very thorough eye exam with the newest technology. He ensures he answers any and all questions or concerns you may have. Highly recommend!! -- Jan 27, 2012

Went to Urbana Eye Care for a check up for mom. The staff upfront , Nicky , was courteous and helpful. Visit with Dr. Gan, I felt , was rather hurried . It was as if he wanted to finish it as fast as possible and get the next patient in. Maybe it was because we wanted to get an eye check up done which was covered by insurance and declined to have refraction done as that was not covered by moms insurance and the office would have made extra money by doing that. Doctor was Not personable or social skills on how to deal with patients.

Clean and tidy facility. Receptionist makes you feel welcomed. Dr. Gan gives you the personal attention that you need to feel comfortable. My only gripe was that one time an employee mislabeled my contacts lenses (right as left and left as right). I figured out the problem quickly and recognized that we all make mistakes.

I would highly recommend Dr. Irving. He is really good at what he does, but is still humble and kind. I have been going to his office since it has opened & i will not go anywhere else. They know me by name when i walk in, and always make sure everything is correct.

I just started wearing glasses, the staff was excellent in helping me pick out the right frames and when I decided to try contacts they were awesome in helping me with that too. The office is clean and organized, etc.. staff is helpful and friendly- I recommend.
