I had, by far, the best experience that I have ever had at an eye doctor here. I have had many eye doctors due to moving around often, and, for fortunately, all of them have been great. I have an eye disorder, Graves Disease, so having a great eye doctor is critical. The eye doctor I had been seeing since high school went into instruction, so I had to find another one and quick. Another doctor of mine recommended Dr. Nielsen because of her own experience taking her daughter. She raved about how her experience from the from desk, right up until her exit was excellent. I must agree. From the time I entered, the ladies up front were warm, welcoming, and sincere. The tech (I hope I am using the correct term) was also kind, helpful, patient, and thorough. She explained everything she did in greater detail than I had ever experienced, and gave me so much insight into what she was doing, how it worked, and why it was necessary. I felt so empowered. Dr. Nielsen (the husband) was knowledgeable, patient, kind, sincere, warm, and extremely thorough. He does everything with such great care and compassion. He truly has a passion for his work. After doing a thorough exam, he was done with his portion and sent in his tech, but I saw him passing by in the hallway and stopped him to ask him a question about another health concern, completely unrelated to my eyes. He not only stopped, but he sat down and listened to the full detail of the issue, gave me sound advice, explained what may be going on, and referred me to which of my doctors would be most appropriate to inform about the concern. His advice was spot on! I had no idea, but my already low blood pressure was running quite low, for some reason. Thank you SO much! As a person with Graves, I never thought Id say this, but I cant wait until my next eye appointment!

customer loyalty means nothing. after 20 years of having Alexandra do my eye exams their practice has gotten so big and snobby, not to mention very expensive, that Im afraid I must find a new optometrist. They wouldnt accept my new insurance which is fine but they made no effort to help me or give me options besides paying the insanely high cash price. I am now without contacts and having to wear glasses that are over 10 years old because I cant afford this place without my insurance. After 20 years you would at least hope for some help in a hard time or even just advice on what eye care insurance i should look into but the new attitude there is basically too bad call us back when you are rich. I guess they forgot that they used to work out of an office at a walmart the size of a closet.

Nilsen Eye Care is the most professional Eye Care Service I have used in my 77 years. I have been going there now since they first opened the practice. My partner and I followed the Nilsens there from another practice because we were so impressed with the quality of service as well as the genuine caring feeling you get from the Drs and all of the people who work for them. They instill this caring attitude throughout their practice. I cant imagine going anywhere else. I have had many issues with my eyes through the years and always gotten attention very quickly and and always accurate. Thank you to the Nilsens and their entire staff. Charlie and Kimberly were very pleasant and professional over the phone and set up an appointment with no issue. Within ten minutes of my arrival, Michelle had me seated in the examination room and was conducting the preliminary tests. Michelle and Dr. Nilsen were both very helpful, friendly, and informative. I worked with Katie for glasses fitting and she was very courteous in working with me to find a frame that fit me, and gave her honest opinions on how they looked. The process of eye examinations and care at Nilsen, from start to finish, was the smoothest and most professional Ive experienced in the last fifteen years. Nilsen will always be my first choice for eye care.

I called Nilsen eye care and got an appointment the next day but was offered an appointment that day. When I arrived for my appointment the staff was amazing, offered my husband coffee and and then brought hi to the room I was in. The Dr was amazing explained everything that was going on with my eyes and multiple ways to for me to be in the contacts which is what I wanted. He was passionate about doing what was best for me. I will continue to go back to them and I have been looking for a good eye dr for three years, I am no longer searching this is the dr I will continue with from here on out. Thank you to all of the staff and to the Drs for caring so much.

The staff and the doctor felt condescending and unprofessional. They were not particularly friendly, and somehow made me feel like I was a burden for wanting an eye exam. I dont mind a relaxed dress code, but even I (I am a student) felt the doctor was dressed a little too casually. He even managed to insult me within the first 30 seconds which was more than a little strange. They are also VERY expensive, and push extra costs on you. A plain exam ended up costing me 150$, which is absurd. Despite having appointments I had to wait for nearly 30 minutes. I think they are now located in the mall, not on courthouse rd. I would not recommend them at all.

Two of my sons, my husband, and myself all go to this practice and we could not be any happier with the treatment we get every time. I see Dr Perry, but have seen both Dr Nilsens as well, and cannot say enough positive things about all three. They all have the best demeanor with their patients (both adult and child) and are always super helpful and informative. Every single staff member is absolutely delightful to deal with and I have not once had a negative interaction with any of them. Each of them seem to genuinely enjoy working there. I cant say enough postie things about this location and would highly recommend them to anyone.

After having received a wrong prescription from another eye doctor I had my eyes checked again at Nilsen Eye Care. The exam was very thorough. There was no rush. There was also plenty of time for questions and answers. The staff was very friendly and caring. Making an appointment was easy. I was taken on time. What else can be expected? I had to pay for the service provided since the other doctor took my insurance benefit. Nilsen is not cheap but it is worth to get a correct prescription and avoid the hassle and expense with having eyeglasses exchanged. I will be back for my follow up exam next year.

Doctor Joe (I forgot his last name) and David the technician provided great service as did the optician Jeffanna (sp?). They answered all my questions, I never felt rushed, and although I did not plan on purchasing new glasses, Jeffanna took the time to clean my glasses and to replace and adjust my nose pieces. My Tricare Prime did not cover my contact lens prescription but that is not unusual. I would given a 5 star rating except that I did not get a copy of my new prescription before I walked out the door. However Logan did e-mail it to me the next day.
