I had never been here before but was having an emergency with a pet so I called to see if I could do a walk in. They said yes. I walked in and did some paperwork. They were asking for some records that I did not have on me so I said I could run up the road to my house to grab them. They said that was fine and they took my pet to the back to get started while I was gone. When I came back, my pet was already in the back, and they made me wait in the waiting room for about 30 minutes and would not let me go back with my pet or to an exam room... and didnt tell me what was going on. 1st strike. Then, I finally get called back and the doctor brings me into an exam room, still no pet in site. 2 strikes. I explained to the vet what was going on and he advised me to RETURN MY PET. 3 strikes. That was offensive and a horrible piece of advice. Then, he brought me back to look at x-rays they took (also that I did not consent to, but I was worried about my pet so I let that go as well) and said that they recommend I take the pet to the emergency clinic and then to Blue Pearl internal medicine specialist in Chesapeake. So, I took my pet to the emergency clinic. The doctors there said the xrays Pembroke took were useless so they took more and didnt charge me and I finally got a diagnosis. They also said they have NO idea why the vet reccommended my pet go to the specialist and said it is not necessary in the least. Then.... I realized they charged me almost 188$ to take useless xrays, tell me they dont know how to treat, and to give my pet away. :) so yeah, worst vet I have EVER been too and will seriously NEVER return...

Absolute best vet there is in Hampton by far! Dr. Gooding and his staff are amazing people and always sit down and discuss whatever concern is going through your mind regarding your pet. He is always available for walk-ins and gives the best service, he is very friendly and informative and also gets straight to the point while making whatever is wrong with your pet sound harmless as he always has the diagnosis readily available and treatment options up front. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a vet to stop by here first!

The receptionist Kaitlyn was VERY friendly and helpful! I called to set up an examination appt. because my dog has not been to a vet in years and she guided me in the right direction. I love speaking to people that have positive attitudes and feel like they really want to help you in your time of need!

I was told by this office that they dot carry shots for ferrets but they are the same vaccines that cats and dogs receive. Highly disappointed. They obviously just didnt want to do the vaccines.
