This practice was recommended to me by a friend who has been a patient for several years. When I called to make an appiontment you press #2 to schedule i was on hold for over 10 mins and never spoke wtih someone.I hung up!!!! After several attempts i finally got through to a person to schedule :( I shceduled with Dr. Janet Horton for some blood work to check for a thyroid issue. From the mintue she saw me she decided i didnt have any thyroid problem. Every symptom i mentioned she shot down and said it wasnt a thyroid issue. Im tired all the time which is a symptom of hypothyroidism but she told me to get better sleep and be less tired i shouldnt sleep with my dog REALLY!!!! I feel like she wanted to find others ways to possible treat my symptoms. Waiting on the blood test

I have been coming here for years. Heck, two of my primary care physicians retired from this location. Setting up an appointment by phone is still a chore of waiting upwards of 10+ minutes regardless of time of day. The front desk ladies... not sure if any qualifications are needed besides quasi attractive appearance and questionable (at times) attire. They are friendly to few and rude to most. Considering they are the face of Cold Harbor, I am surprised it is still in business. Then again, pickings are slim in the Cold Harbor area. Currently sitting in waiting room for another physician now. Heres hoping they and their staff are friendly and helpful. Fingers Crossed.

This is by far one of the absolutely best medical facilities in the surrounding Richmond area! I have been to a few and they do not treat you like this wonderful staff does, very friendly, & they know what they are doing. I have to travel 1 hour both ways it its work the hassle. I see Dr. Ryan Williams on a bimonthly bases for my extreme anxiety issues. He is one of the most likable & caring doctors. I am so glad I found the right doctor that doesnt look down on you & treats you fairly. A very knowledgeable doctor he is and can treat my anxiety. Thank you Dr. Williams! I have been a patient here since 1986 and have always received good care. As others have pointed out, it takes several minutes to make an appointment, but once you connect w/ the front desk staff they are always friendly and work hard to accommodate you. Dr. Piland was my primary physician until he retired. I now see Dr. Jernigan, and I highly recommend him (my wife has been going to him for years). I was recently diagnosed w/ a very serious cancer and he has been absolutely wonderful - from making sure I got the care I needed to calling periodically to check on not just me but also my wife!

Dr. Ryan Williams has no clue how ADD really works (only that it requires stimulants and its basic symptoms) and will frequently jump to conclusions about mental health and emotional issues. He also does not understand the social life of the average college student (especially one involved with a varsity sport and/or Greek organization), and frequently lectures on information I am tested on by my organization every year. Would not recommend him. The nurses are friendly, though, so Cold Harbor Fam Med gets a second star.

Nice doctors and nurses but to schedule an appointment Ive had to call repeatedly and am put on hold for at LEAST seven minutes (I started timing it). As I was cut off twice and they had no way to call back scheduling the first time took a minimum of half an hour. Ive been three times and each time waiting room time is 15 minutes and then inside the room sitting uncomfortably is 15 minute again! All together I dont recommend this clinic if you are busy and value your time.

Started as a new patient and missed a follow up exam three weeks after initial visit. They charged me for the missed visit and did not give any notificatin of the follow up visit. My account was then locked and I was unable to see a doctor until I paid my bill which they required cash or credit card and would not accept a check. I had only been there twice and had just received my bill. I would not recommend this practice.

Too busy, lost my paperwork, put me in a dirty room, unfriendly on the phone and in person. NP is very friendly but seemed overworked as well. Visit took 2 hours (waited for 45 mins after appointment scheduled) but had to return next day due to misinformation. Looking for new primary phys. This place has changed since Ive been going here.

I can only give this place one star. I called to see about getting my daughter in, and the person I spoke to on the phone couldnt even tell me if they took my insurance. Awkward silence ensued by her suggesting I contact my health insurance. Pass on this place. Why is it so difficult to find good family health care in Mechanicsville?

I see Dr. Ryan here who is wonderful. Ive never had any issues scheduling an appointment or waiting. Usually Im into my appointment within 10 minutes of arriving. Very friendly staff, and very attentive to patient needs. Definitely recommend.

Friendly staff, I see Doctor Jones on a regular basis. I have also seen Doctor Jernigan plenty of times. I have a chronic skin disease they treat me for. Great people.
