I went in for an eye exam and new glasses. When they arrived the next week, the prescription was inaccurate. I set up an appointment to return for a recheck, but was unable to make it. My wife canceled the appointment that morning. That afternoon, I received a call from a rude receptionist claiming my appointment was not canceled and she wanted to know if I was coming in. I live an hour away and her attitude put me off. I said I would not be coming in and would just like my money back. At this point, she became belligerent and said there were no refunds. I had to come in for a recheck or lose my money. I posted a very unhappy review and was almost immediately contacted by the owner, Ashish Chhitwal, wishing to make amends and clear up the matter to my satisfaction. It took about a week to get in touch with their office manager, Seema (which I believe was a problem on my phone providers end), but once I did, she was gracious, polite, patient, and very willing to work with me to resolve the situation, even if it meant refunding my money. Instead, we worked out an agreement that was mutually beneficial. Dr. Blankenship rechecked my previous exam and discovered that it was wrong. My glasses are being corrected and will be mailed to me, so I will not have to make the hour drive again. In addition to that, Seema was willing to do even more for me to rectify my previously bad experience. Lest people attempt to scam them into freebies, I wont say all that was done, but suffice it to say she went far beyond my expectations and left me with the feeling that they take their patient satisfaction extremely seriously. I am thrilled that things have worked out so well and that I feel appreciated and respected as a customer. I would give 5 stars, but I am still a bit wary of that one receptionist and their selection of frames is a bit small. However, they do carry the newest styles, so if that is what you are seeking, you should be able to find what you need. The new styles just dont look that great on me, so Im used to having to search high and low for that one pair. So, on the chance you have a less than stellar visit, please contact either the owner or Seema. They will take you seriously and work with you to make sure your needs and concerns are met and that your experience and interactions with them are ultimately to your satisfaction.

I was looking for a place with better options for frames than Hour Eyes, so I bought a Groupon and went to Visual Health in Vienna/Tysons. Sales staff was knowledgeable and helpful, though a little pushy to upgrade lenses. Was unhappy with the fact that all of the equipment used for the eye exam was dusty and not cleaned between patients - I could see makeup residue from the people before me, and there were not the typical tissue guards I was used to from other optometrists. I was invited to put on new contact lenses in the bathroom which was not very clean and was out of paper towels. Frame selection was very good, and the sales staff worked with me to find a good price (though the discounts seemed to be sort of a haggling thing which I am uncomfortable with). I left having paid more than I hoped, even with the Groupon, but I think I would have been totally okay with that had the facilities been more spic and span. Neither the contacts I purchased nor the frames & lenses were available the day of purchase, unless I drove out to Fairfax (delay with frames are understandable, but the contacts were a heavily advertised product and I would have expected they would be in stock). Happy with products I purchased overall, and the store seems to stock good products.

I went to redeem a coupon worth $225.00 that I had paid $59.00 for. At the Vienna store the salesperson, rather than give me the best price from the outset, lowered the price only I after I said that it was too high. Not used to bargaining for my eyeglasses but having the coupon I went to another outlet in Fairfax. There the service was even more egregious. The manager quoted a price that was more than $200.00 higher than the Vienna store for the exact same thing. To drop the price she offered to "comp" me having the glasses polished and screws put in. (Really -- do people buy dirty glasses and screw the lens in themselves?) When she agreed to the same price as the Vienna store I said fine. As I was filling out the paperwork (note I was spending $600.00!!) she cautioned me that my new glasses might be thicker than my current pair. I decided to pass on the low-quality, high price glasses that I was on the verge of purchasing. I still have the useless voucher and am out $59.00!!

I consulted Visual Helath Doctors on a pair of new lenses I needed for some frames I had already purchased. I received different price quotes depending on which receptionist I spoke with- one quoted me at 50% off totaling 135$. The entire time I was there I felt like they were trying to scam me. The next visit the person quoted me at $191. I simply stated, "the last person gave me a better deal". She started typing away at the computer and came back and said she would give me 30% off totaling 135$. At this point I was thoroughly confused. Then, she offered me 40% off if I would get anti-glare coating for the lenses. Now my lenses were 115$ and the coating would be 45$. Personally- I dont like to barter with services such as Eye Care. Its one thing to negotiate prices on jewelry or a car, but to not have clear cut prices at the Optometrist is a little scary. I would recommend going somewhere else.

I came in last week for an eye exam which went very well. I was seen almost immediately after filling out my paperwork- which is a rare occurrence at doctors offices. The staff was extremely friendly and helped me find something with in my budget and with out judgment. I am still a student so my budget was def limited... I was able to get some cute frames and update the lenses in my current pair. The optometrist office I used to go to before would kind of stop caring if you were not willing to spend an arm and a leg but Visual health worked with me and treated me with respect and care throughout the process. Im glad I found this gem... Its safe to say that I will be returning here every year!

I have been to other places for my eye exams, but this place, the doctor and that amazing guy who manages the place have me quite impressed. Not only was the optician knowledgeable about his trade, but he proved it to me. The doctor was well versed in her trade also. I got progressive type lenses, that cost a fortune, but with there selection and wise recommendations, it is well worth it. Also they had an evening appointment and saw me as a walk in, finally they have all kinds of deals, I used my insurance but they sure do work with you. Craig is the guy to see and i forgot the girl doctors name, but they have a good team work there. Recommend to all my friends and fellow Google readers.
