DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Let me start by saying I have extremely strong teeth and have never had a cavity. I entered the facility and it was well kept like the other 8 dental facilities I have visited in 4 years (my job moves me around a lot). I went back for a cleaning and x-rays. After the cleaning I was informed by the dentist, Ana Maya Adkins, that I had a cavity. I asked to see it. Her and a dental assistant pulled up the x-rays and informed me it was too small to see on an x-ray. I then asked to show me on the intraoral camera. They said it was between my teeth so I could not see it. This should have been a red flag because if they cant show me it how they see it to know it is there. I thought she must know what she is talking about because she is a dentist after all. I came in a few days later to get the cavity filled. They gave me a numbing agent which did not work. I told the dentist I could still feel everything and the numbing agent wasnt working. I was ignored. It felt an extremely hot branding iron was being shoved in my tooth as she drilled into my tooth. Over a year later the tooth is still sensitive to hot and cold. It sends waves of pain when I try to eat ice-cream or even rinse my mouth with cold water. I also have days where I avoid eating hot stuff because it hurts. I hoped the sensitivity would go away but after a year it still hasnt. Im going to have the filling removed when I go to another dentist. This place gave me a terrible experience so I hope none of you go here and experience what I went through.

I would recommend Dr. Adkins to anyone that needs dental care. My years of neglecting my dental health have recently caught up with me, resulting in the absolute worse pain of my life. I no longer live in New Kent, so scheduled an appointment with a dentist closer to home... what a mistake! Dr. Maya was able to see me quickly. She was courteous, compassionate, and thorough. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me address the immediate issues... pain and infection (Virginia Family Dentistry did nothing to address these issues; they were more interested in how much money they could get from me). It is well worth the 45 minute drive to her office. I will NEVER go to another dentist!

We are retired military, so have been to at least 14 different dentists all over the world. We both agree that our first appointments with Maidstone Dental were superb!!!! From beginning to end, it was a positive, professional and outstanding experience with all the staff members. Dr. Maya matched a composite filling so perfectly you would never know, and filled a cracked tooth with only one novacaine injection (other dentists take 3 or 4 tries). We are so glad to have found them and know we are in excellent hands with our aging teeth. We highly recommend you use Maidstone Dental as your primary dentist!

Amazing and Caring Staff I drive from Williamsburg to go to this wonderful office. The staff is amazing and will go to extra lengths to make you comfortable with any procedure they do. When you walk in the door you get a smile and pleasant greeting and the caring attitude continues as you proceed to getting your teeth cleaned or a cavity filled. Dr. Maya is an amazing person and has worked with my fears to make me feel at ease no matter the situation.

Dr. Adkins is the best! Ive never had someone so caring and sweet as her <3 Her associates are also nice and they all brighten up your day! I was going through a hard time and Dr. Adkins prayed for me and that made me feel so much better. They arent just a dentist office that sees you in less than 30 minutes, they are your friends and they care for each and every one of their patients! This is the only dental office that I would recommend!! :D

Dr. Maya-Atkins and staff are the best around! Every experience my family has had here has been wonderful from cleaning, preventative care, education, and even referral to specialists for endodontics, oral surgery and orthodontics. Worth the drive! Would not trust our dental health to anyone else!
