7/16/16 This is an update from last years evaluation (9/27/15), as I am fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Mazhari for over a year now (since 7/9/15). By way of doing research on the internet and viewing the Alexandria Dental Health and Smile Studio web site, I chose Dr. Mazhari. I had not been to a dentist in several years, always putting other life events before my dental care. After talking to Dr. Mazhari at my first appointment, I knew I was in the best dental office and had a very knowledgeable, caring dentist. Dr. Mazhari set up a treatment plan that was very doable and helped me see the progress of my dental care. As someone who had put my dental care off for several years, I feel very confident in my choice of Dr. Mazhari as my dentist. It has been one year since my first visit with Dr. Mazhari, my teeth are in the best condition they have ever been! I know Im getting the most professional care and up to date work done on my teeth, by Dr. Mazhari. She is very thorough and attentive to the details of the treatment for my teeth. I am amazed at the amount of time she spends with me and each of her patients. It is evident that Dr. Mazharis passion for taking care of her patients dental needs is her true enjoyment and calling. I can say from first-hand experience as her patient! 9/27/15 For one reason or another, I had not been to a dentist in a couple of years. This past summer, I decided to make it a priority to make an appointment. As I was looking for a dentist in Alexandria on the internet, I found Dr. Mazharis web site. My first appointment, which was very easy to make, was for an overall evaluation, cleaning and whitening. Dr. Mazhari was very patient and thorough in her evaluation and discussion of my dental treatment plan. I felt at ease immediately and knew during my appointment, that I had found the best dental office in Alexandria! I have since been back for restorative treatments for several teeth and had impressions made for Invisalign. Dr. Mazhari is extremely knowledgeable and ahead of the curve, on all of the best dental procedures performed today. Since the first appointment with Dr. Mazhari, I feel better about my teeth and the care they are receiving!

I went to Alexandria Dental Health and Smile Studio from 2005-2007. In that amount of time...., I cannot remember the exact amount... but I spent upwards of $9K in dental work. I had a history of cavities and did not question anything. When I started to go to her, any work that was covered by insurance was submitted and I did not have to pay for it upfront. I was treated as though I was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Once all of the major work was completed in my mouth.... things quickly changed. I started to go for my cleanings and she was out of network. Without any notice at all.... She required me to pay the full amount! I inquired as to why this was now the case... she said.... I should not have to wait for my payment! However, we will submit it and you should get a check in two weeks." I told her that I was not prepared to pay the full amount. I got one of the "enhanced cleanings" explained below. I paid the full amount and when I got home, I cancelled my follow up. I received a letter from her thanking me for my business and that I could consider her office a secondary dental office should I wish to get veneers. I was floored and insulted. Once all the major work was completed... I was tossed away. Ironically, I have not had another cavity since I changed dental offices. It now makes me wonder how much of the work completed in my mouth not necessary. The only positive thing that I can say is that every dentist that I have been to says that my dental work was excellent. I still do not think it was worth being shoved aside when all major work was completed.

I have been having "tmj" problem for years. I never knew nor heard about TMJ before untill I was referred to a dental specialist. The pain I was undergoing was agonizing; headache, jaw pain, gums/toothache, feeling weak and sleepy most of the time. I consulted neurologist for the headache; i was cleared. Then I tried to go to another doctor to consult my other problems. I was given some medications but the relief was temporary. One dentist referred me to a TMJ specialist and from the symptoms I was having, she diagnosed it was because of the wrong bite due to a misaligned jaw. It also made the muscles to move that caused headache and most of the pain. The doctor was thankful I did not have a surgery to correct the problem otherwise it could have just worsen the case rather than remedy it. At the moment, I am being taken cared of by Dr. Mhazari and her assistant, Nancy to complete the treatment of my TMJ problem. Since day one (1 ) Ive put on my new orthodic, it made me feel better and its improving everytime I go to the office for my appointment. Dr.Mhazari has a personal way of taking care of her patients. She is sincerely dedicated to her job, she gives her best on all her patients. She is more driven to cure/heal rather than anything else. Nancy, her assistant, is very efficient and very reliable in all aspects of her job. They have a perfect team work. They make you feel at home and treat you like a family. Their huge office gives a warm and nice ambience, too. Now, the symptoms are mostly gone and most of all I can chew and eat without any pain.

My wife and I had a horrible experience with this office. Here are a few of the highlights (lowlights): 1) They use language on both the phone and their website that seems to indicate that they will accept dental insurance. What they mean is that they will submit dental insurance forms for you but you are responsible for the whole bill upfront and you need to wait for the insurances reimbursement check. 2) My wife and I were both recommended to receive an "enhanced" cleaning with higher costs that our insurance company would not reimburse and very little explanation of what it was. When we asked others in the dental profession whether it was worth the cost, we received mixed answers. So we asked not to receive this "enhanced" cleaning. The dentist would refuse to accept this. We were finally "fired" by her on the phone since we would not listen to her. 3) The dentist "found" multiple cavities in both my wife and I. We have no history of cavities. When we found a new dentist we asked for him to find these cavities and look closely at the x-rays. Not a single cavity was found. From eleven total cavities to none - hard to believe that the second dentist couldnt find them. Based on other things, I blame the Dental Health & Smile Studio. I hate to write this poorly about anyone, especially one with so few patients coming through, but this office really treated us poorly. I would avoid the office like the plague and worry that unfortunately Jivan is correct with his "all about money" comment.
